Shaved or unshaved

At the supermarket, while walking near the chilled meat section……

Miss 11: Look at that! Do some people eat hairy legs?

The Other Half: What are you talking about? Who eats hairy legs?

Miss 11: There, on the packet it says “shaved leg ham”. Do some people eat the leg ham unshaved, with all the hair on it? Wouldn’t it taste yucky?

The Other Half: Hahahahahahahahahahahaha……..

The Other Half had to explain to her that “shaved” in that context means very thinly cut instead of thickly sliced and NOT a leg that’s clean shaven as opposed to hairy :-D.

For dinner tonite, The Other Half nak makan honey chicken with egg tofu stir fry. Miss 6 pulak nak makan sushi. Miss 11 wasn’t fazed about any food. The Cook pulak tak tau tekak dia nak makan apa..

So, The Cook ended up making grilled spicy prawns….

Honey sesame chicken….

Makan dengan short grain rice, stir-fried veges and tabur roasted nori on top…

All the taste buds were satisfied :-) except for The Other Half sebab I tak masak egg tofu for him. But I masak instant taufufa for afternoon tea so kiranya satisfied jugak lah tekak dia nak makan tofu lembik ni kan, hehehehe….

Blu4sky,
you nak recipe nasi utk sushi tu ke?I selalu guna short grain rice ataupuna beras khas utk sushi. 1 cwn beras dgn 1 1/2 cwn air. Masak cmm masak nasi biasa. Lepas dah masak, masa panas2 tu, campurkan dgn cuka sushi. Cuka sushi tu I buat sendiri guna 4 tbsp rice vinegar, 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp salt. Mixed until semua larut.
Cuka sushi ni renjis2 atas nasi panas hingga sekata :-).

Maryam,
itu yg dia pelik, mcm mana orang boleh makan yg berbulu2 lagi, hahaha...
Udang tu dah kena potong kaki nya, macam mana dia nak melambai2 kat you! muahahaha :-P

Mrs. Adam,
Eek, nak belajar masak dgn I? Segan giler I, hehehe

NenekPenne,
patutnya Maksu bawak lah anak sedara tu gi makan kat luar kan, baru lah best! hahahaha

Sabb,
I guess it's up to you kot which brand you 'prefer' or trust :-). I use Breville which we really like. Sekarang ni I only the function 'dough' or 'pizza' on my BM. Yang functions lain tu I dah tak guna. As long as the BM yang you nak beli ada these functions as well, that's good enough :-).
Kat Aussie ni yang famous I think Sunbeam and Breville tak silap.

Hi LG
Reading yr miss 11 nya comment reminds me of my little darl's question, she is going to turn 4 end of this year and now i am teaching her abt halal food and just 3 weeks ago she ask me, ibu can i eat a cake with a shape of a pig? terperanjat i jap and wondering where on earth she got this idea fm, bila i xplain she gv me a blank stare and heran wondering what am i blabbering abt & my hubby did say cara i explain too complicated for her to understand and tergelak i jap bila my girl says its ok ibu i wont eat the cake.

Kak Zai,
we all suka tofu lembik tu di goreng dulu and then makan mcm tu pun aje dah sedap kan :-)

SJB,
I guess she just couldn't imagine how someone would want to eat a hairy pig's leg, hahahaha

blu4sky,
you are welcome :-). Dah jadi tak your sushi and dha pandai gulung?
Wakakakaka, you guna bekas sushi tu untuk hidang kuih raya? SUre terkejut orang jepun tengok, hikhikhik...

mamiaudrey,
kids ask such simple innocent questions kan. Kadang2 memang kena explain the answers in words that they can understand, hehehe..
