The last night

Malam ni malam terakhir the guests kat rumah I.

Esok petang diaorang dah nak balik.

So, satu hari ni jenuh semua bekerja mempacking segala harta karun yang dah dibeli di sini.

Mak I yang kata, “Mak tak nak beli apa2 kat Perth nanti sebab dah selalu pergi…” tu pun berkotak2 barang dia!

Ini kan lagi orang yang baru first time datang, lagi lah baaaaanyak sgt kotak!

Hahahahahaha…..

Esok memang definitely kena buat 2 trips ke airport sebab tak muat nak sumbat all the boxes and luggage and orang in one trip.

Kalau I ada van, baru muat kot, hehehehe….

Kalah barang2 I nak balik Msia haritu .

And for the last dinner, I made nachos malam ni.

Something easy to make but still sedap sebab penuh dgn cheese kan.

Terhangus sedikit sebab sibuk buat benda lain.

Semua orang naik sekilo bila datang sini sebab I asik2 balik2 buat dinner yang penuh dgn cheese aje, hahaha…

And ini pulak muka budak2 yang dah jadi bff for the past 2 weeks.

Kakak sorang tu suka sangat melayan so adik sorang tu seronok lah bermain sebab ada orang layan.

I’m still busy but enjoying the busy time.

Adik I finally arrived in Perth semalam to join his wife and son bercuti.

They were supposed to come together but at the last minute, his company sent him to London for training so terpaksalah dia postpone his trip to Perth a few days later than the rest.

So, kiranya pagi ni baru lah we all mulakan acara bershopping sakan, hahahaha….

Luckily, this weekend is a long weekend here in Perth so boleh lah The Other Half ganti tugas I jadi drebar.

Nak jalan sightseeing sekarang ni pun susah sikit sebab pukul 5.20 dah Maghrib and dah gelap so can’t see much kan.

And the girls are at school during the days pulak.

So, bila balik skolah, cepat2lah diaorang ambik kesempatan main kat lawn sambil sedut udara petang .

Sambil main bola sambil golek2 nyanyi lagu Hindustan

Hahahahaha…..

And I still managed to cook rice and lauk pauk for lunch and western meals for dinner.

I love the Tefal Actifry! It made life easier for me.

I ‘goreng’ ikan tenggiri dalam Tefal tu sambil masak benda lain on the stove top.

Bila dah siap goreng, tinggal tuang kuah aje atas tu and everyone said it tasted just like fried .

Next I want to try to ‘goreng’ keropok lekor in it!

The enchiladas I made last nite.

Semua makan the enchiladas, even my Mak, hehehe.

Oh, and another thing, my blogger friend Shidah would love it if you could vote for her photo here. She’s entered her best sambal nasi lemak in the competition.

The life of a host ;-P

Dah 3 malam the guests have been here.

And so far Miss 14 is happy sebab she hasn’t had to eat rice yet!

Hahahaha….

First nite tu I buat pizza and nasi with lauk.

Second nite I buat butter chicken with rice but the girls had their butter chicken with roti canai so terselamatlah Miss 14 dari kena makan nasi.

And tonite pulak I made roast chicken with bean salad, green salad, bread and chips.

Again, takde rice for her, hehehe.

But I dah buatkan nasi for the guests for lunch tadi.

Esok I tak tau nak masak apa lagi for dinner.

Sekarang sebab ada guests with a small kid, I kena prepare lunch daily lah.

Kalau I tinggal sorang2, I makan apa aje yang ada dalam fridge or kalau takde benda langsung, I’ll just fry an egg.

Tapi ada guests ni, tak best lah kan kalau bagi telur goreng aje .

My brains kenalah fikir extra hard nak cari menu lunch and dinner.

But the good thing is that, I can masak nasi and lauk for lunch and western for dinner so everyone is catered for.

Masak I tak kisah sgt, nak fikir menu tu yang pening sikit, hehehe.

Ini our dinner tonite. Roast chicken with bean salad, green salad, bread and chips.

We love bean salad tu yang memang slalu ada in our dinner menu.

And ini pulak some photos I took of our jalan2 to Fremantle semalam.

Kat OZ ni aje yang best bagi makan seagulls, hahahaha….

And cubalah teka apa yang budak2 tu bagi seagulls tu makan?

Hari ni dari bangun pagi sampai malam sibuk sebab nak menyambut tetamu.

Kalah kebizian macam nak sambut menantu, hahahaha…

Awal2 pagi dah strip the beds and make the beds.

Miss 9 terpaksa kongsi bilik with Miss 14 for the next 13 days.

They all ok aje but tak tau lah once dah kongsi a few nights kan.

And then dengan kemas rumah again and buat so many washings and what not…

and also buat benda ni which we haven’t done for so many months!

Cuci kereta!

Nasib baik tak demam terus kereta tu sebab tetiba kena mandi selepas berbulan2 tak mandi sabun, hahahaha….

Siap dengan interior sekali we all polish sikit.

Semata2 sebab tetamu nak datang.

(Nasib baik their flight sampai petang so sempat lah we all nak buat macam2 that morning ).

My Mak, adik ipar and nephew. My adik akan menyusul this Tuesday.

And what did I cook for them tonite?

I made cheese pizza for whoever wants pizza and also nasi with ayam ‘goreng’, sayur goreng and sambal kosong for sesape yang teringin nak makan nasi.

Super duper host kan! Hahahaha….

And for the first time ever, we cooked the ayam in the actifry.

Memang dah lama berhajat nak beli but tak terbeli2 sebab tak tau whether it’s going to be another unused gadget.

But after the first try tadi, we were so happy with the results.

The chicken wings were so crispy and cooked just like as though they were fried.

Padahal cuma guna 1 tablespoon oil aje.

So The Other Half lah yang beria2 dah berangan2 nak try macam2 recipe in it.

Which means I lah yang kena masak kan kan, hehehehehe…..

How we spent our day when the wild storms hit Perth

Today Perth and surrounding area was hit by wild storms with really gusty winds up to 140kms/hour.

The storms leave a trail of destructions across Perth.

And what did we do while the storm was lashing Perth and surrounding areas?

We went for a drive along the coastal roads heading towards Hillary boat harbour and stopping at Cottesloe beach to watch the wild waves and a lot of brave people swimming in the rough seas .

While all these people were in their shorts and bikinis braving the cold waves and strong winds, we were all rugged up trying to get warm, hehehe….

But kids will be kids, still jugak nak main air…

While waiting for the others to come out of AQWA, we took shelter from the rain and wind in San Churros having heavenly hot chocolate….

It’s like drinking chocolate pudding that is so rich and creamy but unbeliavably yummy. Mak I could only manage to habiskan about 1/3rd of her hot chocolate sebab she said perut dia dah kenyang sangat2, heeee…

Trying to get our photos taken while trying not to get blown away by the gusty winds at the same time was a major feat let me tell you, hahahha….

Alhamdulillah, we managed to escape all the affected areas when the winds were lashing the coasts.

But we got to see the aftermath of the storms. Uprooted trees, broken branches everywhere on the roads, torn fences on some of the houses, debris on the roads, torn sails on some of the roofs of houses along the beach.

Kakak I said that she just couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw how strong the winds were when we stopped to have fish and chips for lunch at City Beach. Siap ambik video lagi tu, hehehe…

Tomorrow will be their last full day here so it will be filled with last minute shopping and packing.

And after their flight on Tuesday, the house will be very quiet again.

Frenzied four days

They did arrive that Saturday morning on the right plane, phew .

And since that Saturday morning, our lives have been very frenzied!

Going out very early in the morning and coming home close to sunset.

And during the few hours at home, it’s filled with cooking, getting the kids organised, getting the washings done, hung and folded and talking.

When there are a few more people in a house, the laundry basket pun fillled up very quickly lah kan so memang lah the washing machine kena berkerja every morning and every night, hehehe.

So, there aren’t many hours left to sit in front of the notebook to sift through the hundreds of photos and to write a proper blog entry.

Even though I have been cooking, I haven’t had a chance to take any photos of the food.

I guess by the time I have finished cooking dinner expressly, everyone was already hungry and ready to eat so taking photo goes right at the back of things to do .

Nak masak anything fancy pun tak sempat, dinner was basically very basic aje, hehehe…

Nak tunjuk my baking skills? Lagi lah jangan diharap unless I want to wake up at 5 in the morning, hehehe…

So, for tonite’s entry, I cuma boleh tunjuk photos of people aje lah ye…

(You have to wait until next week lah ye if you want to see photos of food).

But kenalah tunjuk gambar tuan rumah dulu kan, heeee…

Dan gambar laki tuan rumah sipi2, kahkahkah…

And gambar tetamu tuan rumah…

Sorang tetamu lagi kata dia tak nak tetiba jadi femes kat Msia so dia tak nak gambar dia masuk blog I ni, muahaha… .

Tapi dari jauh nampak sayup2, apa salah nya kan…..takde sape kenal, hahahaha….

Esok The Other Half has started working and The Little Misses have started school so our days will be slightly calmer while waiting for the weekend to become frenzied again .

The Other Half sent my Mak n Abah to the airport this morning. I tak ikut sebab kena jaga The Little Misses at home. Their flight was at 6.30 am so diaorang kena keluar rumah just after 4 lah to get to the airport on time. Bila the Other Half sampai rumah, we all pakat tidur balik sebab baru aje pukul 5.30 pagi masa tu. Tup2, terbangun pukul 7.35! Wah, kelam kabut we all kejut The Little Misses bangun utk2 bersiap2 ke school. Nasib baik lah I dah siapkan their lunch boxes masa tunggu The Other Half balik from the airport, hehehe.

I spent the whole day today kemas rumah buat total spring cleaning lepas 3 minggu cuma buat surface cleaning aje. Bila ada guests, susah sikitlah kan nak buat total cleaning every week. Tak boleh lah nak suruh diaorang keluar rumah just so I could clean the house . Rasa nak pengsan sekejap lepas jadi Cinderella tadi! But the house does look nice! Clean enough for the next lot of guests, hahaha.

I’ve also been neglecting my vege patch for the few weeks. Nasib baik lah The Other Half still dedicated so dia aje lah yang fertilised, meracun and cabut rumput. But I slalu petik sayur kat vege patch tu, so tak lah neglect abis kan, hehehe. My Abah pulak sepanjang2 dia kat sini has been spraying the roses to get rid of the aphids. And thanks to his dedicated spraying, our roses are now free of aphids! Yeay!!!!!! Next few days ni, terpaksalah I kerja masuk kebun balik. Kalau tak, tak dapatlah nak jadi peladang berjaya kan, hahaha.

Sebelum I tayang gambar orang, I tayang dulu gambar bunga ros yg semakin cantik sebab dah takde aphids, hehehe. Lebih kurang aje dengan gambar2 the roses previously but I still nak letak jugak kat blog ni.

I said to The Other Half yang gambar red rose ni sebijik macam superimposed, padahal I takde pun buat apa2 to the photo. I betul2 tak tau why the petals looked fake kan.

I wish I ada lenses yang lagi canggih, mana tau boleh jadi lagi cantik all my photos. Baru lah best sgt2 kan .

Hari Sabtu hari tu, we all pergi Caversham, nak kenalkan Nenek and Atuk to the kangaroos, sheep, koalas and all the Australian animals. Seperti biasa, yang paling seronok at that place were The Little Misses lah! Kalau I tak paksa balik, mau agaknya diaorang bermalam kat situ with the kangaroos, hehehe.

We all bawak diaorang tengok the sheep shearing show. Ye lah, bila lagi nak tengok how people shear sheep kan.

Fascinating jugaklah but definitely not something I would like to do as a job.

At the kangaroo enclosure…

Atuk teringat kat kucing and ayam kat kampung tu. Dapat bagi kangaroo makan pun jadilah, kurang sikit rasa rindu kat kucing, hikhikhik…

Miss 11 kata the kangaroo really loved her. I said to her, it’s the kangaroo food in her hand that they really loved not her, hehehe.

There were some albino kangaroos there.
