So far, The Little Misses haven’t missed a day of fasting.
Even though last Wednesday after school, Miss 7 walked up to me and said, “I have a very strong urge to drink. My mouth is so dry.” .
Every Wednesday, she has 2 hours of sports at school which is 1 hour of Phys. Ed. and 1 hour of Sports Carnival practice. I told her not to exert herself too much masa Sports practice tu so tak lah dia rasa haus sangat.
But Rabu lepas, she said that they were practicing sprinting and racing and it looked like so much fun so she joined in. Of course lah bila lari pecut2 kat padang on a sunny day you akan rasa haus kan!

But it was already 3 o’clock at that time and iftar pulak at 5.46 so I pun pujuk dia to wait. Balik rumah tu I asked her to mandi so she cools down a bit and suruh dia lepak depan tv until buka puasa. But every half an hour asik tanya I aje berapa lama lagi nak buka sebab her mouth dah memang takde saliva langsung nak telan, hehehehe…..
Bila azan berkumandang aje, dia terus teguk air sampai 2 gelas, memang haus gilers lah tu, hahaha.
Semalam, I was really stumped on what to cook for dinner. Baru aje puasa 11 hari tapi dah tak tau nak masak apa for dinner.
At 1.30 baru lah I terfikir nak masak ‘sate’ ayam. So, kelam kabut I defrosted the chicken breast and sempatlah marinate ayam tu for a few hours.
And then I terfikir nak buat kuah kacang with a twist .
Since Miss 7 tak boleh makan peanuts, I pun kenalah buat kacang using other nuts. I found mixed nuts in the pantry. Ada cashew, almond, macadamia, brazil and walnuts in the mix. I just blitz them all in the food processor.
The Other Half kata, “I think this is the most expensive kuah kacang in the world!”
Mau nya tak expensive, siap guna macadamia lagi tu! Hahahahaha…..
But my kuah kacang looks so pathetic sebab:
1. I made it tak pedas langsung so The Little Misses can eat it so obviously colour dia tak merah cantik.
2. I buat kurang minyak so takdelah this layer of shining minyak on top.
3. I terlupa sekejap when it was on the stove top so ter burnt a bit, tu yang kaler dia tetiba tukar jadi greyish brown. hehehe..
4. I haven’t made kuah kacang for so long that I’ve forgotten how to make thus rasa dia amatlah tak macam kuah kacang.
Meh, close up sikit of the pathetic looking kuah kacang…
The Other Half kata, nasib baik ada sambal dalam jar so it really helps in making it more edible.
Hahahahaha……
But Miss 7 loves it! .

hahaha...I pun tak tergamak nak jual kuah kacang yg rupa mcm ni.
ala kesiannya ur little miss, haus yep. nasib baik mummy dia pandai pujuk, heehee
kalau tak cakap itu kuah kacang mmg I cant recognize lah kak Kak LG. dalam mind set mmg mesti nak kuah kacang adalah berminyak dan red in color. ekeke.

Poor Miss 7.. Haus sangat lah tu.. Kita yg adult ni pun kadang2 tak tahan panas n haus..
Kak mynn at least pandai jugak buat kuah kacak daripada sy yg langsung tak tahu -_-
ok le tu...yang penting ada rasa sikit2 kuah kacang...rupa tak penting.
Anak2 biasanya nak buka sebab haus..kalau lapar dia orang masih tahan...yg bestnya bila time buka macam2 air dia orang teringin nak minum :)

Haritu aje yg dia memang betul2 tak tahan haus,hehehe. I pun mlm tadi rasm mcm tak best aje makan kuah kacang tu sbb tak meriah :-)

Miss 7 suka puasa but that day memang dia haus sgt2 and nak sgt2 berbuka but luckily sanggup tahan :-).

Nasib baik Mertua I bukan melayu, or else, memang tak sanggup I nak hidang kuah kacang pathetic tu ke diaorang, hahaha.
Sate I sate express yg semua rempah ratus guna serbuk version so sgt lah senang nak buat, hehehe.

Memang kesian jugak tengok dia haus sgt2 haritu but sayang pulak nak bagi dia berbuka bila dah cuma tinggal less than 3 hours :-).

Kat rumah I ni takde banyak air masa buka. Cuma minuman panas and air masak aje or cordial. Kuih muih yg I buat berbagai jenis, hehehe.
kesian Ms 7, tapi dia cukup kuat tahan godaan nk minum tu...urm...I dh pernah baca pasal N3 Miss 7 x boleh mkn peanuts....kesian dia kan. tgk gambar dia yg masa kecik2 tu mcm bengkak2 muka dia...naik rashes ke apa ye...nasib ada mom yg kreatif. so, dia boleh lah merasa kuah kacang juga & mahal pulak tu!
Alamak, bila tengok kuah kacang Min teringat pulak tahun ni akak kena buat lagi kuah kacang. My mother is a perfectionist dan kuah kacang dia very much sought after amongst sedara mare. Kalau tak capai piawaian dia, siaplah kena leter. Sebab sejak beberapa tahun ni dia uzur dan masak pun pakai Wii. Akak lah yang jadi si Cooking Mama tu. Berapalah markah tahun ni agaknye.

malam tadi we had calif rolls for iftar... tak kuasa i nak gulung sushi etc.. tak cukup masa.. bila malas, calif roll sendiri la...
Tabik spring buat Miss 7 yg bersungguh2 dan bertahan berpuasa walau kering tekak pasal dah habis 'saliva yg nak ditelan' :). Kat umah ni kami sdg melatih nephew yg usia 5 thn berpuasa half day dari tghari sampai maghrib (antara 6-8 jam sehari shj). Biasanya dekat 1 jam nak buka, mula lah dia 'berzikir' lapar, nak buka, nak buka. Puaslah memujuk... Alhamdulillah masih ok lagi, tak mau paksa tapi kalau tinggal beberapa minit lagi sayang pulak.

I think this is a brilliant idea! Since the peanuts from the asia shop are sometimes more expensive. How do you thicken the gravy? Do you still use buah keras?

So far, dia masih boleh tahan lagi puasa penuh walaupun kena buat sports for 2 hours :-).
I tak sabar nak tunggu dia tahan makan pedas so bolehlah I buat sambal kacang mahal ni pedas2, barulah ada kick kan, hehehe.

Bestnya kalau I dpt makan your Mum's sambal kacang tu, sure mau tak bergerak dr meja makan, hehehe. I rasa kalau dia makan sambal kacang yg I buat ni, maulah agaknya I kena bebel sehari suntuk tak habis sbb memang tak sedap langsung, hahaha.

I tak guna buah keras sbb I guess all the different nuts have already made it quite thick. I have to keep on adding a bit of water at a time to thin it so tak burn :-).

thank you for the kind words :-). I bila duduk negara orang baru belajar2 buat sate ni :-). Haritu I buat sate ayam aje sbb senang and cepat nak masak :-). Kuah kacang I tu memang tak boleh buat jamu orang lah sbb rasa dia ada kureng kick banding dgn kuah kacang tanah pedas tu, hehehe.
