Cuba tengok gambar Miss 10 kat bawah ni. Noticed her kembung mouth? Gambar ni The Other Half ambik lepas they came back from the dentist.

Miss 10 has had this 1 wobbly gigi susu since I rasa 1 year ago kot. Punyalah lama gigi tu wobbly tapi tak tanggal2. Setiap kali jumpa her dentist for her 6 monthly check, the dentist will ask her to goyangkan selalu gigi tu so cepat lah gigi tu tanggal. Selalunya, dalam seminggu tu dia akan ingat and akan goyangkan gigi tu hari2, pastu terus terlupa….. Until today’s check up, the dentist kata kat dia, “We’ve got to pull this tooth out today because plaque has started to build up under it.” So, the dentist sapu some local and then terus cabut her tooth, tu yang her mulut kembung sebab ada gauze in it. When The Other Half told me how much the dentist charged untuk cabut 1 gigi tu, I yang rasa macam nak pengsan. He charged us $80 untuk cabut 1 batang gigi! Next time, I’ll make sure Miss 10 does it herself and then I’ll give her the $80 for her to use, lagi berbaloi kan :-). I should have got it done masa we all balik M’sia hari tu, I don’t think it would have cost us RM80 let alone RM240 untuk cabut sebatang gigi….. Patutlah dentists kat sini ramai yang ada yachts and mansions, hehehehe…..

And tonite our dinner was very simple, fettucine bolognese aje. Easy and filling, my ideal way to cook :-).

Hari ni The Other Half worked from home while looking after The Little Misses. Kalau school holidays, we all memang buat tag team lah ambik turn jaga The Little Misses. The Other Half said he can’t wait for Miss 10 to be big enough to be the babysitter for both of them without our supervision at home, which I think will only be in 5 years time when she’s 15. But at least they are big enough now to do their own things without disturbing The Other Half so he could work from home quite productively. What did they do today? Dari pukul 9 pagi sampai lah I balik from work tadi at 3 and then sampai nak dekat dinner, they spent the whole day at the dining table painting and colouring! Patutlah The Other Half loves it when he has to ‘look’ after The Little Misses at home, sebab memang pun he didn’t have to do anything, hehehe…

But he did do something sebab when I got back from work, Miss very-soon-to-be-6 said to me, “Mummy, Mummy. Guess what? Daddy cooked lunch today and it was really delicious!” I tanyalah dia, “What did Daddy cook?” Dia dengan bangganya sebab dapat Daddy yang can ‘cook’ said, “Instant noodles!” Wakakakakaka….  Agaknya terkejut dia sebab Daddy cooked, tu yang so excited to tell me :-). The Other Half had to cook for lunch today sebab there wasn’t any leftovers in the fridge and then takde stock frozen chips in the freezer and we’ve run out of bread, hehehe…..

And since he was so rajin to ‘masak’ lunch for The Little Misses, I pun buat kan lah dia his favourite seafood pizza for dinner. He has to look after The Little Misses again in the morning esok but I’ll be taking over the duty at lunch time so tak payah lah The Other Half pening kepala fikir nak masak apa for lunch esok, hehehe…

His favourite seafodd pizza, ada prawns, mussels, fish fillet, squid… Kiranya gourmet nya version of seafood pizza lah. But gourmet mcm ni pun, I still don’t like seafood pizza, tak tau lah kenapa….

Mentang2lah public holiday, ter rajin pulak hari ni nak buat another N3 :-). Tapi not about food lah ye, sebab I malas masak malam ni. We spent the whole morning hari ni melepak2 merehatkan diri kat rumah aje until lah around 1.30 when suddenly The Other half kata, “Let’s go for a drive to Lesmurdie National Park. They’ve got a nice trail and a waterfall there.” Pastu we all pun kelam kabut buat toasted cheese sandwich to take for a picnic lunch there and then off we went. We all ni kadang2 memang tak plan langsung buat benda2 macam ni, tetiba aje angkut the kids terus keluar, hehehe. Tapi slalunya pun pergi tempat2 yg dekat2 aje so tu yang tak payah planned bagai.

This park is only about half an hour drive aje pun from our house but dah bertahun duk sini, baru first time we all sampai tempat ni :-). So, layan aje lah ye gambar2 yang we all ambik tadi. The weather was quite windy and it was on the hills so memang sejuk lah sikit. Penat lah jugak we all turun naik bukit tadi walking/hiking for about an hour, kiranya tak payah lah I exercise lagi for the next few days, hehehehe… Lepas puasa ni, asik non stop eating aje, tension I. Dah lah nak balik M’sia December ni, so nak lah balik dgn badan still slim lagi kan :-)….

Baru aje jalan beberapa langkah, dah buat sessi bergambar…

Bila balik rumah, dah nak dekat pukul 5 so tu yang tak larat nak masak dinner sebab penat wehhh….

I love long weekend, hari ni public holiday kat WA ni sempena Queen’s Birthday today. Why today and why the Queen? Entah lah you, hehehe. We don’t care as long as we can get an extra day holiday to sleep in in the morning, sudah teramat lah best nya :-). And The Little Misses have started their 2-week school break as of Saturday. So, bila school hols dah mula, they’ve been sleeping a bit later but waking up earlier, playing games a bit longer, making the house a bit messier! Diaorang ni kan macam tau2 aje bila cuti sekolah, mesti terbangun earlier than normal. Kalau hari sekolah tu, I had to wake them up most mornings to get them ready for school, tapi kalau cuti sekolah, pagi2 morning dah bangun segar bugar! Hmmmm…. Kids!

Semalam was such a beautiful spring day that bila bangun pagi I said to The Other Half I nak buat BBQ for lunch. But I nak buat sate instead of the usual Aussie BBQ of sausages and chops :-). Ye lah kan, still lagi bulan Syawal so konon2nya nak makan sate raya lah, hehehe. Sate ni memang lah agak leceh sikit kan nak buat nya. From cutting the meat into small pieces, to marinating them and then nak cucuk ke lidi tu yang ambik masa lama sikit. Tapi bila nak bakar nya, sekejap aje and then bila nak makan nya, lagi lah sekejap, hehehehe…. Slalunya I buat sate ayam aje but semalam I buat sate daging as well and a bit of prawns. I love my sate to be a bit sweet and I’ll taste the marinade sebelum perap ayam tu. Semalam masa I rasa tu, dah manis but bila sate tu dah masak, tak rasa pulak manis dia, memang I ni tak pernah pandai buat sate. Even The Other Half pun kata, “Hmm, these would be nicer if they were a bit sweeter.” Mat Saleh pun lagi terer rasa sate dari I, hahaha… But kalau tengok dari gambar, memang boleh menitis air liur :-)….

I prepare the sate and The Other Half seperti biasa tunjuk ke ‘pandai’ an dia membakar sate :-). But luckily for us, dia tak pakai singlet n kopiah n kain pelikat this time! Hehehehehe….

I did say yang I’ll take a photo of my lavender plant yang we all tanam last year. Alhamdulillah, dah keluar jugak a few flowers even though not many.

The Little Misses sempat gak berposing sebelum we all keluar beraya ke rumah one of the teachers petang semalam. Seronok betul pergi beraya semalam sebab I dapat rasa kuih makmor, almond london, kuih bangkit, mini popia simpul, mazola, tart nenas…. sedapppp…… Rasa tak nak berganjak aje dr meja kuih tu, hahahahaha…..

Hari ni baru boleh di panggil Spring weather, it went up to 20+ C hari ni so tetiba berkobar2 semangat we all nak bercucuk tanam in this Spring weather. Bila Winter aje, all our plants went into hibernation, hidup segan mati tak mau. So, we decided to buy some more new plants untuk our mini ‘kebun’ :-). After The Other Half got back from Sydney tengah hari tadi, we all pun dengan semangat waja pergi lah memborong kat Bunnings, dapat lah we all rembat a few tanaman :-). But terlupa pulaknya nak ambik gambar the seedlings yang we all beli tadi, sebab busy bercucuk tanam and then penat terus, hehehe. But I managed to snap some photos of the Bunnings here, ini pun ambik gambar curi2 sebab ye lah kan, takut tetiba kena halau dek pekerja2 kat situ sebab ambik gambar pokok2 diaorang, malu lah I kan, hehehe.

We didn’t buy that much anyway, cuma beli watermelon, thai chili, chili api and tomato seedlings and some flowers for The Little Misses to plant.

Inilah pemandangan kat slaah satu nurseries kat sini. Nurseries tanaman tau, bukan nurseries yang penuh dgn budak2 tu, wahahahaha ;-).

 

Macam2 plants and seedilings ada, memang dekat 2 jam we all melepak kat Bunnings tadi. nasib baik lah ada playground dlm Bunnings ni, so tak lah boring gilers The Little Misses tunggu Daddy and Mummy pilih barang2…

 

Ish, minah dua orang ni, sentiasa ada kat mana2, hehehe ;-)

Segala macam seedlings ada, from sayur to buah to bunga.

I rasa tadi macam nak angkut aje semua pokok2 lavenders ni bawak balik rumah sebab cantik gilers bila tengok banyak2 mcm ni. Nasib baik lah pokok lavender seketulkat rumah I ni dah mula berbunga, so tak jadi I angkut anything. Esok bila free, I ambik gambar our lone lavender plant.

Occasionally (very rarely), bila The Other half takde and it’s a weekend night, I’ll let The Little Misses sleep in our bed. I ingat lagi masa I kecik2 dulu, sikit nya best ke kalau dapat naik kat katil my parents masa pagi2 lepas bangun tidur. We used to let The Little Misses do that when they were really small but since they’ve started school, memang dah stop lah letting them into our bed even on weekend mornings. I guess since our bed is only a double bed, so bila ada 4 orang in it, memang lah so crowded which will eventually lead to arguments of this nature, “Ouch, you’ve kicked me!” or “How come you get to lie next to Mummy? I want to lie next to Mummy!” or “You are squashing me, move a bit more!” or “I can’t get the pillow, my head is not on the pillow!”. Which will lead to us saying (in a very irritated voice), “That’s why we don’t let you girls come into bed with us because you two will fight!”. Which will lead to The Little Misses being banished to their room, hehehehe….

But malam ni, I was feeling very generous by letting them watched a dvd in bed (my bed to be exact in my room!). When The Other Half rang from Sydney, dia gelak aje when I told him yang The Little Misses are in our bed and then he said, “So obviously, you’ll be sleeping on the futon tonite since the girls have conquered our bed?” Sudah semestinya lah! If I were to sleep in the same bed with them, memang lah I tak kan boleh tidur dengan lena. Sebab I would definitely get kicked or hit or pushed by their waywards arms and legs, macam mana lah nak tidur kan. Baik lah I tidur kat atas futon tu, lagi lena I, hehehe…

I know my girls can be extremely annoying and frustratingly difficult to talk to at times, but bila diaorang tidur, they look so innocent without any worries in the world…..

I was at the veg n fruit shop tadi bila I ternampak cili api. Dalam hati i terfikir, dah lama betul I tak makan cili api ni. Masa pokok cili I berbuah sikit nya banyak, sikit pun tak terasa nak makan (tak berani actually nak makan, hehehehe) sampai lah buah2 cili tu terbuang aje rosak kena makan serangga :-(. Rugi betul kan! Tadi since teringin, I pun beli lah sikit. Kat kotak chili tu tulis, “extremely hot chilli”, tu yang I beli 6 biji aje ( kalau berasap telinga I nanti, sape yang nak tolong, hahaha). Cili pedas style cili api ni lagi mahal dari cili thai yg panjang2 tu, masa I beli tadi it was at $19.95/kg. Nasib baik I bukan Orang Nogoghri yang memang hari2 nak masak lomak cili api, so tak lah rabak my poket ;-).

Anyway, since The Other Half has flown off to Sydney and tekak Mat Saleh yang utama tak perlu di ikuti, so I pun bantai lah masak nasi sebab nak makan lauk guna chili api tu. I kan orang melayu, baru aje Raya dua hari, dah kena tukar makan western, so hari ni, tekak I pun terpanggil2 nak makan nasi lah, hehehe. Dengan semangat berani I pun masak sotong dengan cili api tu, but sebelum kena gelak, let me tell you, I cuma berani guna 1 biji cili api aje, wahkahkahkahkah… Ye lah, I cuma goreng 4 ekor sotong yg kecik2 tu aje so I thought 1 biji cili yg “extremely hot” sudah sangat2 memadai lah kan :-). Dah tuan punya kedai tu pun tulis “extremely hot”, I pun percayalah cakap dia. And I sorang aje pun yang nak makan, tu yang masak sikit aje…

But, buat penat aje I masak, sikit pun tak pedas you. Even Miss 5 pun boleh joined I sama makan sotong bercili api tu and sikit pun tak menunjuk kan memek2 muka tanda kepedasan, wahahaha. Ceh, buat saspen aje kan tuan punya kedai tu siap tulis “extremely hot” lagi! Kalau I tau tak pedas, I would have put all 6 biji kat dlm sotong tadi, bagi berasap sekali sekala :-). Orang lain, makan 20 biji pun buat selamba derk aje, I baru nak letak 6 biji dah gempak 1 blog, hehehe… Maybe sebab dah lama sangat I ni tak makan benda yang pedas2 sgt ni so my lidah dah tak boleh nak telan cili banyak2 ni. I selalu konon2nya teringin nak makan masak lemak cili api yg kaw2 nya pedas, tapi I know myself, I won’t enjoy it at all sebab asik tonggang air aje bergelen2 sampai kenyang, mcm mana lah nak rasa nasi n lauk tu kan :-).

Lauk pauk I malam ni. Serunding ayam tu dr rendang ayam fr Raya, I keringkan betul2 and buang all the tulang so jadi lah serunding, hehehe. Nampak tak sotong cili api I yang teramat lah ‘pedas’ nya itu! Miss 5 said to me, “This is so nice Mummy. I like this kind of squid because it’s not hot!” Hahahahaha… Memanglah Mummy dia ni tak pandai masak pedas lagi dah :-(……

Since ramai lagi yang masih dalam mood raya, my post tonite will be slightly melancholic….

I’ve noticed as I get older, I become more and more wary of making friends. Actually, sejak dari dulu lagi pun I wasn’t the friendliest girl. Orang lain sikitnya ramai kawan but I jenis yang cuma ada 2-3 orang kawan rapat aje, dari sekolah rendah ke sekolah menengah, from uni to working life until now. The Other Half said that I’m selectively friendly, hehehe…  But people sometimes think since I ada blog, it equates to me being very sociable and very friendly. Ye lah kan, since I’ve posted a lot of stuff about our lives in this blog, that’s why I guess people made that assumption. I really enjoy having a blog and sharing parts of our lives with the readers of the blog and I love reading the comments and the chat, they really make my day and make me smile :-). And I will be so sad if takde orang nak comment on my post and chat with me kat chatbox tu, hehehe.Tapi for people who know me well (which is tak ramai pun ;-)), they know that I’d generally rather spend my time alone or with my family doing things with them than going out everyday with friends. Tu sebabnya our social life is very quiet which suits us very well. But I’m not saying that our way of living is the right one or even a particularly good one but we like it :-). Some people will find our lives so dull and boring, hehehe…. (I guess that’s why I married an accountant ;-)). We also tend to keep our personal lives and work lives very separate. Like when we get invited to functions at colleagues’ homes, we generally don’t go unless we know them really really well and both of us have to feel comfortable going. It’s sad and slightly pathetic isn’t it but it works for us, hehehe….

I rasa everyone pun kadang2 lebih kurang perangai macam I jugak kan. For me, there are so many categories of friendships and acquaintances. One type where you have this instant connection even sebelum you bertemu muka, you just know that there will be something special in that friendship. Another type where you’ll warm up to them once you’ve ‘known’ them through blogs or emails or phones even though you tak pernah bersua muka and you cherish their friendships. Another type, you just don’t have any common ground between you and them and you figure this out pretty quickly. It’s not that I think these people are not nice, they could be the nicest people but we just don’t click, betul tak?  Sometimes, you just have to rely on your intuition to select your friends. Bila makin tua ni, you tend to rely more on your intuition kan.. Do you think that’s a sign of you getting wiser or just more cynical? ;-).

And some friends you can tell everything to and you know that they won’t judge you or gossip about you and your secrets will be safe with them. These types of friends will accept you the way you are, warts and all, and you don’t feel like you have to be somebody else with them. Selalunya, tak ramai friends will fall in this group. And there are some friends who you share certain information about your life but not everything under the sun :-) and you tend to be a bit more ‘formal’ with them. And there are some acquaintances who you wouldn’t tell anything to…..

Well, cukuplah my bebelan and my ramblings untuk malam ni. Lagi baik I tayang my dinners for the past 2 nights. Orang kat rumah ni dah tak larat nak makan lauk pauk raya after 2 hari makan lauk pauk raya (baru 2 hari aje tu, dah tak larat, hehehe). So, terpaksalah I masak western untuk membuatkan semua orang gembira makan dinner….

Memang meat-n-3-veg dinners lah kan. Yang herannya, kalau makan nasi 2 hari berturut2 dah tak larat, tapi kalau makan potatoes 3-4 hari berturut2 pun still boleh telan dengan lajunya lagi :-). Definitely tekak Mat Saleh, hmmm….

Esok malam, tak tau nak masak apa since The Other Half will be flying off to Sydney again…

What a wonderful Eid celebration we had this year. Even though it’s not as meriah and as hectic as a Malaysian Raya, it was still joyously wonderful. I guess I’m so used to celebrating Raya at a smaller scale that when I went back to Malaysia for Eid, I found it a bit too hectic and too full-on for my taste, hehehe….

And since I’m still feeling bloated and full from eating too much since semalam, I won’t membebel lebih2 lah ye so I’ll just letak gambar aje lah ye of what we did semalam n hari ni.

Semalam, we went to Rockingham mosque untuk solat Raya. This was our first time pergi the mosque for Eid celebration. Memang terasa macam kat M’sia aje because there were so many Malays kat situ, hehehe. And the food spread after the solat was so sedap as well, The Other Half makan macam tak pernah jumpa Malay food :-). Segala macam rendang ada, segala macam nasi ada, segala macam kuih ada, segala macam lauk pauk ada, it was heaven for perantau like me, wehehehe… Then we went back home and terima tetamu the whole day before going out to Sheri n Hafiz’s for beriani dinner that night. Lepas tu, by 9 malam, semua dah tertidur kepenatan. Kalau kat M’sia, masa tu masih makin rancak terima tetamu kan :-).

We totally forgot to take gambar Raya family apart from this. Busy sangat makan and berborak2 kan so gambar tu. Ini pun thanks to Salina tolong ambilkan gambar, kalau tak, memang takde langsung lah :-). Btw, we all memang tak pernah pakai baju raya sedondon since ever, tu yang macam2 kaler ada, hehehe.

Ini lah my kuih muih Raya. Tengok lah my bekas kuih Raya, macam2 jenis ada :-). I seperti biasa totally forgot to buy the bekas kuih again this year so on Saturday tu, baru lah kelam kabut selongkar my storage area cari bekas2 yang sesuai untuk isi kuih, hehehe… But 3-tier cake stand tu benda wajib yang kena ada on the table, baru lah nampak canggih sikit kan my kuih muih display tu ;-).

The cakes yang I buat untuk Raya. Baklava, kek batik and fruit cake. I know kek batik I tak cantik sebab I tak pandai potong, hehehe..

I terlupa langsung nak ambil gambar lauk pauk yang I masak untuk Raya….

Then, hari ni pulak since The Little Misses’ school still cuti Raya lagi, we all pun ambik cuti from work so we could spend the day with them and jalan2 kat city sambil beraya at Salina n Muzaffar’s house for lunch.

Hari Raya pertama aje lah we all akan beria2 pakai baju kurung n what not, lepas tu, takde lah, hehehehe….

Seperti yang dijanjikan, tayangan perdana video clip lagu raya terbaru di pasaran (Aussie  style cover version of lagu Saloma 'Selamat Hari Raya').  Pasti kan sape yang nak beli album ni, beli yang orginal bukan cetak rompak nya version tau. And sape2 yang teringin nak sign up artist2 cilik ni untuk record lagu for them atau nak jadi agent diaorang, kena contact Mummy and Daddy diaorang dulu :-). Bayaran bisa di atur, wakakakaka.....
And kalau sape yang gelak mengekek2, mengilai2 guling sampai sakit perut or ada yang sampai contraction nak bersalin bila dengar lagu ni, we won't be held responsible tau! ;-).

Minta maaf lah ye sebab terlambat pos video ni, berkurun I menunggu dia upload kat blogger! Dari tak mengantuk, terus tersengguk2 menunggu. Padahal, bukannya panjang mana pun video clip nya tapi sikit nya lama ke ambik masa. Blogger ni memang lah tak larat I kadang2, bercinta dibuatnya.... Then, tak larat menunggu, I pun masuk tidur hoping that it would have been uplaoded by morning time. Bila I bangun pagi ni, tengok ada error uploading pulak so the waiting last night was all a waste! Aggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Geram nya lah kat stupid Blogger ni! Hmmmm.... So, I had to do it through youtube pagi2 tadi sebelum pergi Masjid. Balik Masjid baru sempat nak publish.

Tension betul I, dari semalam I’ve been trying to upload the video clip of The Little Misses singing lagu Raya on Blogger but punyalah susah and it’s still not uploading this morning. That’s why I didn’t post the video last nite seperti yang dijanjikan. I’m very sorry lah ye to anyone who’s eagerly anticipating the launch ;-).

I’ll try and do it again today through youtube so hopefully berjaya. Once again, apologies for that :-).

Seperti yang dijanjikan, malam ni I buat tayangan amal kuih Raya but beware ye sebab my kuih Raya tak secantik yang jual kat kedai tu, hehehe… Tahun ni I rasa malas sungguh nak hias cantik2 my cookies, as long as they look presentable and edible cukuplah for me. Ini excuse orang malas lah kiranya ;-). Bilalah agaknya I ni nak jadi rajin ye, hmmmmm……

Anyway, so tadi I buatlah sessi photography for my kuih Raya. Nasib baik lah I cuma buat 6 jenis kuih aje you, kalau I buat sampai 12 jenis, mau agaknya sampai tengah malam karang masih tak siap2 sessi photography tu! I ingat nak buat petang tadi so the lighting will be au naturel with the sunlight. But since mendung aje tadi and I was so busy gi window shopping petang tadi, tak sempat lah nak ambik gambar. Terpaksalah tadi I pergi keliling rumah (alah, kat dalam rumah aje pun and bukannya besar mana pun rumah I, hahaha) cari lokasi yang sesuai and cahaya yang sesuai untuk buat sessi terunggul ni ;-). But I had to make do with cahaya lampu aje lah and rumah yang bersepah ni, hehehe….

Layan lah gambar kuih muih I ni ye! :-). Sorry yek, I tak ambik order sebab Raya dah nak dekat so surenya tak sempat nak buat untuk you all, wehehehehehe……. :-P

This are my Florentine cookies. Sepatutnya sapu dengan dark chocolate on the back but since The Little Misses lagi suka milk chocolate, I pun bantai lah sapu milk chocolate so rupa dia tak cantik sangat lah sebab tak nampa contrast.

Ini pulak my triple choc cookies but terlebih butter so dia leper mengembang aje, wahahahaha…..

My suji cookies. First time I buat ni! Seronok sangat sebab menjadi and baru lah I tau bukannya susah buat dia, hehehe…

My tart nenas yang rupa dia memang tak cun langsung! First time I guna acuan tembaga yang tekan pakai ibu jari tu. Ibu jari I dah lah cenonet aje so bila I tekan, dia tak keluar cantik lah. But rasa tetap ada :-).

My cornflakes n choc chip cookies. Saiz dia memang saiz cookies mat saleh, besar2 aje…

Ini pulak kuih gunting I. Mula2 I guna pasta maker untuk gelek dia and shape kan dia bentuk fettucine. Pastu I tinggal gunting aje when the dough comes out.  But then halfway tengah I syok2 membuat nya, it got stuck. Tak tau lah kenapa tetiba tak boleh pusing langsung. Siap I tonggeng kan dia, bersih kan dia, korek2 dia nak make sure takde benda yang meng ‘jammed’ kan dia, still tak boleh pusing. Pastu I tension, I suruh The Other Half buang kat dasar laut (drama queen aje I ni, I suruh dia buang masuk rubbish bin aje! :-)). Then terpaksa lah I menggunting dough tu, terus dapat macam2 rupa kuih gunting I, hehehehe….

So, abislah sudah tayangan amal I malam ni. Ini aje lah kuih Raya I tahun ni, tak kuasa I nak membuat lagi, hehehe. Hari esok or Sabtu nanti tinggal buat kek aje…

I’ve finally made my final biskut Raya so esok boleh lah nak tayang kat blog ni, hehehe. Dalam banyak2 kuih I (lerr, bukannya banyak pun, wehehehe), cuma 1 aje yang savoury, yang lain semua manis! I really miss all the savoury kuih raya pulak tetiba, like kerepek bawang, kerepek keladi, kuih siput :-(. Kerepek bawang tu memang sampai bila pun I tak kan buat rasanya sebab it looks so leceh and memerlukan kesabaran yang banyak (which I sorely lack ;-)). Bila balik M’sia aje baru I makan, nasib baik lah sekarang ni senang nak dapat, bukan musim Raya pun boleh dapat. Kerepek keladi tu mengingatkan I kat zaman budak2 dulu sebab my Arwah nenek mesti buat and memang sedap, tak boleh berhenti kalau dah start :-). Kuih siput tu pulaknya I rasa I boleh buat tapi rasanya akan jadi siput babi kut bukan siput halus2 kalau I yg buat (sebab kenan cookies saiz Mat Saleh kan, hehehe) and rasanya tak sempat kut nak buat sebelum Raya ni, hahaha….. The only biskut yang I buat yang I rasa memerlukan kesabaran lebih sikit was the tart nenas, yang lain tu jenis tinggal bulat2 kan and bakar aje, memang dasar nak cari jalan yang paling senang kan ;-).

And since I’m still in my malas mode untuk masak2 for iftar, I made maggi goreng tonite, yeay!!! Hahahaha…. Kuih pulak I buat curry puffs and spring rolls. Inti for the puffs and spring rolls memang dah ada dlm fridge so tinggal keluarkan puff pastry and spring roll pastry, terus jadi 2 kuih, memang tersangat lah senang nya :-). But since I kesian tengok maggi goreng tu lonely aje, I goreng kan lah telur, chicken nuggets and keropok untuk di makan dengan maggi goreng tu. Pastu bila dah hiasa dengan ccoriander leaves and cili potong, terus jadi maggi goreng versi posh sikit kan… ;-).

 

By the way, I tak sempat lah nak meronda malam ni nak kutip kad2 raya yang teman2 bloggers sudi berikan kat I. InsyaAllah, esok malam I gi ronda lagi so nanti I gantung ok!

Orang lain bila dah nak dekat raya, makin rajin masak, makin rajin buat kuih muih, makin rajin kemas rumah. I cuma makin rajin belek buku resipi tengok resipi biskut and cakes apa yang sedap and best untuk di buat untuk dihidangkan masa raya nanti :-). Belek aje pun, bukan nya buat, hehehe…. Nak masak untuk Iftar pun dah betul2 takde mood. Rasa macam nak beli takeaway aje untuk Iftar for the next few days ni sebab memang dah takde idea yang cun2 nak masak apa. Kalau lah I sorang aje yang puasa, memang lah I akan masak maggi aje hari2 sebab itu yang paling senang! :-) Tapi mengenangkan budak dua orang tu yang bersungguh2 puasa, tak sampai hati pulaknya nak bagi diaorang makan maggi hari2, hehehe. Malas2 pun kenalah jugak buat kuih for Iftar sebab hari2 Miss 10 akan tanya I kuih apa yang I masak untuk Iftar.

Like tonite, I cuma buat pikelets as our kuih and hot dogs as the main meal. Memang makanan yang sangat simple but at least they ate it dengan senang hati :-). I hope my masak2 mood will come back before Sabtu ni, or else memang takde lauk pauk apa2 lah nanti masa Raya, haru nanti ;-). I said to The Other Half the other day, “Let’s cook something different this Raya. Instead of the usual rendang, acar, kuah kacang, lodeh n nasi impit for Raya, let’s cook Western dishes!” Then dia kata, “But you won’t feel like Raya if there’s no rendang or nasi impit! I’m only thinking of you.” Betul jugak apa yang The Other Half cakap tu, kalau takde rendang and nasi impit di pagi Raya, sure I tak terasa macam Raya nanti kan. Tak best lah kan kalau takde Raya feelings ni :-).

Since I malas nak masak, mood nak ambik gambar pun takde, hahaha. But speaking of ambik gambar makanan, I’ll be going to a food photography seminar in November. It’s only a 2 hour seminar given by this food photographer. Mana lah tau kan, I can get some tips and inspiration on how to make my dinner looks more tempting and appetising on my blog. Ye lah kan, bukan senang nak bagi orang drools over our food ni :-). Dah ada DSLR, bila lagi kan nak gunakannya dengan sebaik2 mungkin, hehehe…

And since takde gambar food, I just gantung aje kad2 raya yang tercicir nak ambik hari tu. Jutaan terima kasih kerana sudi memberikan kad raya yang cantik2 ni pada teman2 bloggers termasuklah I, hehe.

I sekarang ni tengah mengajar The Little Misses nyanyi lagu Raya Saloma tapi tak tau lah dapt ke tak diaorang nyanyi. Sebab baru I perasan yang Saloma nyanyi lagu tu sikit nya laju ke, so sikitnya susah and payah ke my kids nak ikut and nak terkejar2, hahahaha….. Sian betul The Little Misses kena paksa, wakakakaka….
