Another way to use tortillas

I ni jenis suka tengok recipes, sometimes tu a lot of recipes at one go.

So, bila I masak, I akan ambik ideas from a few recipes, cedok sini sikit, cedok sana sikit and then godek2 ikut what’s in the pantry and the freezer and ikut my mood.

And most of the time, I memang tak kan write down what I’ve added in the dishes because memang tak sempat nak tulis apa2 kalau tengah masak tu, hehehe. And slalunya I pun bukannya ikut exact measurement (unless I’m baking lah where I will follow measurement sebab takut tak jadi.).

And so, bila a dish turns out really really sedap, memang slalunya I cannot recreate the exact same dish again lah sebab dah terlupa what I added in it in the first place.

(Macam mana nak jadi Nigella the Domestic Goddess macam ni kan kalau tak boleh nak recreate the dishes, heeeee)

Masa tu lah baru tension abis, hehehe.

The next time I nak masak the same dish, I kena godek2 recipes again.

Like this dinner we had on Saturday night.

I think it’s called enchiladas but I am not sure if true enchiladas look like this.

I was looking at a few recipes that use tortillas while I was cooking, and cedok this idea and that idea and made this. Tu yang I’m not sure if it’s enchiladas or not, hehehe.

I made cooked tomato-based mince beef filling (a bit macam bolognese sauce) but with added mashed red kidney beans and grated carrot, wrapped it in tortilla bread into parcels. Put them in a baking dish, pour hot salsa from a jar onto the parcels (because I had a jar of salsa in the pantry), scatter some grated colby on it and then bake them in moderate oven for a few minutes until the cheese has melted and the bread is a bit brown at the edge.

Bila nak makan, add a dollop or two of guacamole on it.

( I asked The Other Half to make the guacamole sebab I nak solat masa tu and he said he doesn’t know how to make guacamole. I gave him avocado, sour cream, pickled chilli, salt and lemon juice and told him to pandai2 lah mash them up together until they taste nice, hahaha.)

And then gaul everything together, and suap masuk mulut….

It is so much yummier than just plain ole wrap! Smile.

memang kalau masak..main godek2 je kan...tapi kalau buat kek misti le ikut sukatan, kalau tak takut tak mjadi pulak.
Yang godek2 tu le kadang2 lebih sedap :))

Gebera,
tu yg susah sbb sometimes my hubby mintak 'that dish that you cooked last week' and I memang tak boleh nak recreate it, ada aje yg lainnya, hahaha.

Blu4sky,
hehehe...sian you, takpe, esok pergi cold storage again and cari sampai dapat ;-).

Kak Kasih,
memang betul tu. Kalau kek ni I takut nak godek sgt2, setakat nak tambah coklat or coconut or nuts tu I berani lagi, hehehe.

Sufatiha,
I ni dah lama kahwin, baru 'pandai' masak macam2. And then bila tekak kat rumah ni semua ada selera masing2, terpaksa lah memandaikan diri, hehehe.

Lurpak,
I think the recipes pun kata you curah that bolognese sauce on top of the parcels. But I curah salsa sebab itu yg I ada n my bolognese sauce tak cukup, hehehe.

auntie, kalau Cahya masak pun usually memang takkan ikut exact measurement. kalau tengok recipes just tengok ingredients je.

Zarin,
Dia yg nak makan guacamole tu, so pandai2 lah dia buat kan, hehehe. Nasib baik jadi you :-).

Ayu,
Apa khabar? :-). Baking ni I tak berani lagi lah nak alter lebih2 sbb kalau bantat n tak sedap, sapelah yg nak makan kan, hehehe

Rozita,
melted cheese tu kan kalau letak atas roti kosong aje pun sedap kan! Hehehe

Lia,
Tu lah, I thought so enchiladas tapi takut ada nama lain yg lagi proper, hehehe

Aida,
I takde exact resipi, I just guna base bolognese sauce aje and then tambah mashed red kidney beans into it :-).

Shuweet,
Memang sgt yummy, for me lah :-)

Mulan,
wahhh...ni mesti chef kat foodnetwork channel tu tiru I kan! Hahaha

Cahya,
Sebab kita yang nak makan kan, so lagi senang if we adjust it according to our tastes, tokok tambah mana yg patut :-).
