Filo-ed out

What do you do when you have a box of filo pastry in the fridge yang dah nak expired sangat2?

You make moroccan beef mince in filo cups for dinner and baklava for dessert!

And you will use up the whole box in 1 night Smile.

This was our moroccan beef in filo cups which we had with sauteed diced potatoes and sweet potatoes and steamed silverbeets with sauteed garlic breadcrumb topping.

(nama macam posh giler tak boleh belah our dinner malam ni kan, hahaha.)

I think you all akan di’jamu’ dengan a lot of silverbeet dishes in the next few months and years sebab our silverbeets sekarang tengah membesar dengan jayanya.

1 pokok pun actually dah cukup untuk feed 1 family. We all ada sampai 5 pokok! Memang sampai muntah lah makan silverbeets aje nanti, hahaha.

And this is our favourite baklava. Dah lama sangat2 I tak buat baklava ni and bila makan tadi, memang semua was dead quiet with only the occasional ooooohhhh, aaaahhhhh, yummmmmm…..

I used mixed nuts of all the nuts that I could find in the pantry so ada macadamia, brazil, hazelnut, almond, cashew and walnut in the baklava filling.

Macam mana lah I nak kurus balik macam ni kan, hehehehe…..

tp tak pernah buat sendiri sebab kat m'sia akak tak tau nak cari filo pastry kat mana...:)
kat rumah akak cuma akak sorang je yg suka baklava...yg lain semua tak suka sebab diorg tak suka manis...so akak tak de pesaing...selamat :))

I pun masa balik Msia haritu, tak teringat pulak nak cari filo pastry kat any of the supermarkets. Maybe ada kot at the frozen section dekat2 dgn puff pastry.

rasa dia sgt manis sbb lepas baklava tu masak, kena curah dgn air gula. But sedap sbb ada nuts dlm tu :-)

Baklava ni manis, lain dari murtabak sbb pastry dia lagi nipis and kena bakar dlm oven.

My whole family loves baklava so much. But rege dia $2 for a small one at the lebanese shops so baiklah I buat sendiri, hehehe
