Sejak ada ‘ladang’ kat belakang rumah ni kan, setiap kali I kena remind myself untuk tidak membeli segala macam sayur2 an kalau pergi grocery shopping.
Sebab kadang2 mata ni biasalah kan, nampak sayur yg macam best sikit aje, terus nak beli….
And setiap kali nak masak dinner or lunch, I akan make sure akan guna sayur2 or herbs from my own backyard.
So, since I balik dari M’sia haritu, I belum lagi lah beli apa2 sayur pun kecuali taugeh( tak kuasa I nak merendam kacang hijau untuk buat taugeh, hehehe), corns, bawang, garlic and potatoes lah. Sayur2an lain sama ada dah memang ada dalam freezer or dalam pantry or the chiller bin or just petik dari ladang.
On Friday night, I made pasta bake. Dalam minced meat mixture tu I letak diced tomatoes, diced eggplants, diced banana chillies and shredded basil. And then makan dengan salad yang ada mixed lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and sugar snap peas. All the veges I petik dari ladang.
Kalau I tak guna the veges tu, memang nanti binatang lain lah yg akan makan sampai habis berlubang2.
But I dah tak larat nak hari2 masak eggplants aje, hehehehe….
Malam ni pulak, we had lamb chops with roast potatoes, corn on the cob, steamed carrots and sauteed silverbeets. Makan pulak dengan home-made tomato sauce.
I marinated the lamb pieces in olive oil, chopped garlic, chopped rosemary, lemon juice, salt, pepper and honey.
Cuma silverbeets and rosemary tu aje yang datang dari ladang tapinya. Ok lah kan dari tak guna langsung, hehehe.
And then for dessert, we had bubur pulut hitam.
But pulut and santan kelapa tu kedai mari ye! Tak de lah I nak buat sawah padi tanam pulut or tanam pokok kelapa untuk harvest santannya, hahahahaha…
The Other Half and Miss 8 love bubur pulut hitam. I haven’t made it for them for so long, tu yang buatkan untuk diaorang.
I tak makan sangat cos it reminded me of the kenduri tahlil for my Abah. We made bubur pulut hitam untuk orang yang datang tahlil tu……

LG, kalau tanam tomatoes & other sayurs dlm pot, mmg setiap winter kena gali n tanam baru ke? I nak gi beli some plants kat bunnings, nak beli yg dah jadi pokok (coz makas nak tunggu lama2 for the fruits). Malasnye la kalau setiap winter dioramg mati & kena tanam baru when spring arrives.
And al-Fatihah to ur arwah father, & the rest of arwah muslimin/muslimah. Semoga roh2 mereka dicucuri rahmatNYA.

Akak pula sampai sekarang tak boleh pakai baju kurung yg akak pakai waktu ayah akak meninggal...bila tgok je baju tu, jadi sedih.

Seperti biasa I really love all your western dishes such as the baked pasta :)
On another note, would like to know what sort of bread maker are you using Kak Mynn?
My family love to eat a lot of bread, so we thought of investing in a good bread maker machine so that we can eat bread all day long sampai pengsan..hehe Ooh yea...do you know of any good kind that can knead bread of different varieties, i.e. with grains, nuts, etc ?

I think tomatoes is one season vege so kalau you tanam this season, by end of Summer dia akan mati so memang kena tanam a new one lah. I nak cuba semai tomato in a green house Winter nanti ni for Spring season, nak tengok ok ke tak.
Tomato plants yg dijual kat Bunnings skrg ni memang semua dah besar2, you tinggal transfer ke pot aje and then dpt buah in a couple of weeks time :-).

I guna Breville breadmaker as well but not the Ikon type and I love it, I used my BM mostly every week but mostly for the dough cycle only. Occasionally I will use it to bake bread as well. I like the timer setting especially if you want to wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning :-).
I have a Breville Ikon blender and it is really great so I think any Breville Ikon product will do an excellent job.
And mine pun can bake the big loaf size so it is really handy if you want to do a big loaf.

we all ni pun dah lama tak makan lamb even though kat sini senang sgt2 nak dpt lamb. I guess sbb lagi senang nak masak ayam n daging so tu yg jarang masak lamb, hehehe.
