7 days without her (oops..and him)

The Other Half and Miss 6 will be flying off to Adelaide this Sunday for 7 days, to see Nana & Pop. Sejak pindah ke Perth, Miss 6 tak pernah lagi balik Adelaide, tanah kelahirannya itu :-), sebab tak pernah berkesempatan.

Come to think of it, I pun belum pernah lagi balik Adelaide since pindah Perth ni. But kalau I pergi sana, dah gerenti nya kena stay dengan in-laws kan, so takpelah, I lagi rela duk diam2 kat Perth ni, hikhikhik…

Miss very-soon-to-be 11 pernah flew solo to Adelaide for Christmas 2007 and stayed there for about 10 days kot. She was already 8 1/2 years old at that time an could fly as unaccompanied minor so tu yang we all lepaskan dia sorang2. Miss 6 at that time was only 4 y.o. and too young still to go with her sister. That was a really big adventure for Miss very-soon-to-be 11 sebab first time dia naik kapal terbang sorang2, memang perasan dah jaid budak besar lah, hehehe. Adalah a couple of nights yang she called us in the middle of the night menangis teresak2 sebab tak boleh tidur, hikhikhik, that was funny :-).

Anyway, I don’t know how I’m feeling about Miss 6 going to Adelaide ni. Sejak dia lahir sampai sekarang, tak pernah rasanya dia tak tidur under the same roof as me. Even though we started putting her in her own separate room since she was 7-8 months old tapi still lagi in the same house kan. Nak berpisah for 6 nights terasa lama lah sangatnya kan! Entah2 nanti I yang menangis mendayu2 call dia tengah2 malam semata2 nak dengar suara dia, wakakakakakaka….

The Other Half pulaknya won’t be staying in Adelaide the whole 7 days because he’s got to go to Sydney. So Miss 6 kena lah tidur sorang2 without Daddy or Mummy for 2 nights, hehehe. I wonder how she’ll cope :-).

But it will be a fun time for her sebab dapat spend time dengan Nana & Pop all for herself. Tapi kesian kat dia sebab dapat Nana & Pop yang bukannya jenis men-spoilt rotten their grandchildren, hikhikhik…

And Miss very-soon-to-be 11 pulaknya will have Mummy all to herself for 7 days and I definitely think that it’s the right time to tell her about the birds and the bees during this time. She knows bits and pieces but not the whole thing. I’m so not looking forward to explaining the facts of life to her, let me tell you, hahahahahahaha. But I know it’s my responsibility to tell her the truth and this 7 days will be perfect for that :-). The Other Half dah gelak2 kan I and kata, lega dia sebab takde anak lelaki, hehehe. I told him luckily the library’s got books about ‘how to explain about facts of life to daughters’ :-D.

How do you explain it to your kids?

Since dah berapa malam I tak cukup tidur sebab Miss 6 sakit, hari ni I pun rasa mengantuk giler2 but takde masa nak take a nap. So, untuk dinner tadi pun I tak tau nak masak apa sebab tak boleh nak fikir yang non simple nya food :-). I pun masak lah nasi goreng with fried seafood fritters and sambal belacan. Untuk Miss 6 I buatkan nasi and sup ikan.

I dah lama tak makan sambal belacan ni sampai kan tadi I had to think sekejap macam mana cara nak membuatnya, hehehehe. Nasib baik I ingat, or else, memang lah I kena call my Mak tanya macam mana nak buat, hahahaha.

Pastu I pun offer lah ke The Other Half the sambal belacan and expected him to say No. Tiba2 dia kata, “Ok.” Torkojut eden! Hehehehe. Dia makan sambal tu without any complaint! Ish ish ish, apalah nak jadi dengan laki I tu, hikhikhik….

Masa anak anak I dulu, I tak ada selindung selindung punyer, everything I cerita. Tapi budak sekarang ni cerdik, tak macam budak dedulu ( I ler tu).

Masa first time datang period, I boleh nangis ... kelakar sungguh. Nampak pakai 'pad' pun tak reti, nak cerita kat mak pun rasa malu. Nasib baik ada kakak sedara yang tinggal sama family kita orang ajar I benda benda ni :)

Alhamdulillah, Miss 6 has recovered. I am off-blogging since Saturday to concentrate on my Research Proposal. Well, I hope she will be OK staying with her Nana n Pop for the 2 days when TOH is not around. Nampak gayanya, the Little Misses lebih kerap balik Malaysia dari Adelaide, ya?

My two elder sons will be flying back to Malaysia this early May - also as Unaccompanied Minor. Masa datang sini pun dia orang datang sendiri - And they said they enjoy it very much because they sort of received a VIP treatment. Hmmm....
Macam manapun I doakan Miss 6 will be sihat and happy during her trip. And All the Best in your little session with Miss going-to-be-11, yeah! Reminds me of the song "..... Bees do it..."

Hi LG,

abt the birds & the bees, my hubby yg explain to the boys about the male anatomy & its functions to my boys dulu..tapi part the girls stuff I yg explain..boy were they interested ;) tapi session tu jadi gelak2 sessions with all those pics & hilarious innocent qns that the kids posed..but on a serious note, I terkedu jugak bila noticed that the qns posed were far more 'advanced' compared to masa I kecik2 dulu..haiz!! kids nowadays..better let them ask the parents all that they wanna know, rather than from tempat tak 'bertauliah' to satisfy their curiousity..at least with parents boleh insert the agama aspect ;)

How to explain about a bird and bee. Through my experience i don't explain much to my elder son because he is much more advance than me. With my daughter I asked her as to whether she knows what happen when a couple having sex. she said yes and she said she is not ready and knows her boundary and thank god until now she is practically a good daughter and seriously looking forward to have a good result in her exam and she excells in sport.ALHAMDULILLAH!

bab explain birds & bee....just fill in the blanks jer...hehehe...buat open discussion...nanti dia tanya...min filled up mana2 part yang blank tu....sure menarik the session gonna be...!

TQ for the concern ya...when I was involved in the accident...dah hantar bengkel...sekarang Hubby naik bas go Office...tapi yg penting semuanya selamat!

You take care ya...!

Psst..kalau Akak pun nak juga sambal belacan tu...nyummy!!

Hmm pasal the birds and the bees.. hehhe my hb yg did the explaination to my son but ah ade ke dia kata.. kalau nak buat .. harus pakai protection.. lahhhhhh i had to correct that for him! hahha

Sambal belacan is my hb fav tu.. he can even eat belacan just like that.. raw raw gitu.. iiikkkk

Norma,
Hahaha..kalau duk jauh kat rantau orang, benda2 yg simple2 mcm ni kan yg membuat kan kita terliur :-)

Yati,
kat M'sia senang nak cari kan. Kalau dpt makan dgn ulam yg fresh2, lagi lah bertambah sedapnya!
Sambal Thai tu cair lagi kan?

Kak Acik,
samalah kita dolu2. Memang tak berani tanya parents sendiri kan and diaorang pun memang tak berani kot nak explain ke kita.
But like you said, budak2 sekarang ni dah terover pandai, tu yang I rasa memang kena kita yg introduce dulu to them dr diaorang dpt entah dr mana2, hehehe

Mia's Mom,
salam.
After the Easter break, you kena study pulun lah ye? Your exam pun around the corner aje kan?
I guess sbb bila balik M'sia, dpt jumpa sedara mara yg ramai gazillion tu so tu yg once a year balik :-). But bila pergi Adelaide, cuma jumpa Nana n Pop aje, boring abis, hahahaha.
How long your sons balik M'sia nanti? Sepanjang Summer hols ke? Sure you'll be missing them like crazy kan.

Yat,
So true what you said, because of how advanced they are technology-wise, tu yang I would rather be the one explaining to them about the birds n the bees, hehehe. But still not looking forward to it though :-).
I dulu kan masa kecik2 memang tak tahu hapah, hahahaha....

Dila,
I pun dulu mcm tu, dpt info dr kawan2 and from books, not from my Mak, hehehe. Macam you cakap lah, info pasal masak memasak memang dpt banyak dr dia :-).

Rus,
I pun perasan gak Baida dah jarang ada kat Woolies dgn Coles. Skrng ni dah ganti dgn Steggles yg kaler biru putih tu. Kadang2 nampak mcm pesen Baiada sikit kan, tp I tak pernah tengok lagi. Ada tanda halal ye kat box dia?
Macam ni, kena lah I pergi menyiasat kat Woolies, hehehe

Melatie,
I guess that's a good start by asking them what they know about everything and then fill in the holes or correct them if they are wrong :-).
If you don't mind me asking, are you n family in M'sia or overseas?

Kak Watie,
Salam.
Tu lah kan, tak pernah berpisah, sure nya lah rindu terlebih sikit kan, hehehe.
Memang pun I ingat nak tanya dia dulu apa yg dia tahu n tak tahu so boleh I fill the blank areas, hehehe.
Samalah your hubby dgn my hubby dulu ye, kena naik public transport pergi kerja. And masa bungkus his bekal, kena make sure jenis yang tak leaking, hehehe.

Kak Zai,
I guess bagi diaorang travel sendiri ni lah cara nak ajar diaorang erti trust and responsibility kan :-).
My Hubby pun baru skrng ni belajar makan sambal belacan :-).

Rima,
Masa I dulu, naik bas aje dgn friends. Budak2 sekarang, naik planes terus kan, hehehehe.
Your hubby tu gelaklah. Tapi kalau I jadi you, mau I cubit dia sebab bagi 'silap' info, hikhikhik.
Eeeekk, how can he stand raw belacan ye?

Ayu,
Dulu masa I kecik2 kan, my Mak selalu buat sambal belacan klu takde benda pedas lain. Tapi bila ke I, memang lah setahun seklai tu dah kira baik, hehehehe.
Ayu lagi teruk ye, tapau aje, hahahaha :-).
I ni nak elak dia dpt info yg ajaran sesat, tu yg kena bagitau dia awal2 before dia masuk high school yg memang penuh dgn ajaran sesat tu :-D.

Salam LG :-D

Dia orang kena balik to settle their visa. I expect kalau banyak hal yang timbul dalam sebulan kut dia orang balik. Cumanya I hope they will get their visa - lama sikit pun tak apalah janji visa approved.

A'ah. I ni sedang pulun le ni! Exam start April 30th sampai May 7. Dalam pada tu kena continue buat dissertation. Tapi, yang tak larat tu, dah tau banyak kena revise, next week ada hati pulak nak travel. Melampau kan mak cik ni? :-D

Wah...8 1/2 years old dah pandai naik kapal sorang sorang?. Wah berani juga dia. Berapa jam the flight?.

Memang susah sikit nak explain dengan budak budak ni kan. kalau my boys ask me hehehe i pun tak tahu apa macam nak explain hahahah. Tu hari pun dia dah tanya, dari mana baby keluar?. hehehe nasib juga semua semua my kids lahir via c'section. So, I just told him, the doc cut mommy tummy hahaha.

Anyway, good luck :D.

lemongrass said...

Kak Azie,
tu lah kan, kadang2 budak2 ni memang kena bagi lepas mcm ni. Baru lah boleh kita tengok diaorang trustworthy ke tak, hehe.
Harapkan merah aje sambal I tu, memang tak kick langsung sbb tak pedas, hahaha

Mia's Mom,
salam :-). Tak boleh buat visa kat M'sian embassy kat situ ke? Do they have to go back to M'sia every year ke? Kesian jugak diaorang ye but kalau diaorang tak kisah fly solo, takpe lah kot kan, hehehe.
Travel tu membuatkan hati you lagi ceria nak buat revision for exam, hehehe...

SJB,
sekejap aje, only 3 1/2 hours so tu yang she was quite happy to do it :-).
My kids know babies come from somewhere down there called vagina but now I have to explain how they get in!, hikhikhik
