It’s my birthday today thus the makan2 celebration I had at home this morning.
Unfortunately, it’s a work day and also a school day so cuma gang Mak2 aje lah yang sambut dengan I pagi tadi, hehehe.
The Other Half and I akan sambut our birthdays sama2 with the girls nanti on Saturday since our birthdays are so close anyway.
Alhamdulillah, the party went well.
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves because there was a lot of talking, laughing and eating going around.
So, what did I end up cooking for the party?
I made seafood nyonya kari laksa makan dengan beehoon and mee kuning, lamb in filo pastry (macam yang I buat for dinner the other day) makan dengan caramelised onion foccacia and bean salad.
Then on the side I goreng popia/ spring rolls and keropok lekor (Ganu mari yang my Sis brought with her a few weeks ago).
For dessert pulak I made butternut snap tartlet, marble cheesecake, kesari, strawberry meringue mash (or kalau kat UK, it’s known as Eton mess) and creme caramel as my birthday cake.
But then the tetamu brought with them tepung pelita, kuih talam kacang merah, crostolli, buah melaka and red velvet cupcakes.
Punyalah banyak makanan, memang penuh satu meja and then aftet that penuh giler our perut, hehehehe…..

Ini satu meja penuh dengan the stuff I made. The other dining table, penuh dengan the desserts the guests brought along.

Butternut snap tartlets.
The strawberry meringue mash. I made the meringues semalam and then made strawberry coulis pagi tadi. Then I whipped some fresh cream. When you want to assemble it, you break the meringue into big pieces in a glass bowl, dollop the whipped cream on top of it, then pour the strawberry coulis on the cream. Then gently mix all of them together. Put it in the fridge until you are ready to serve it.
Senang sangat nak buat but sangat sedap!
My creme caramel birthday cake, first time I buat, nasib baik jadi. But then bila I terlangkupkan onto the plate, tersenget pulak duduknya, lantak lah kau labu, hehehe.
