Spending Sunday at a farm

Tengah hari tadi we went to another Raya open house. But this open house is quite far from us, about 50kms away on a farm in a place called Gidgegannup.

(If you live in Perth and you have to travel 50kms, itu kira dah jauh lah, hehehe.)

And this house pulak on a road called Toodyay road. Can you imagine how hilarious it was listening to the GPS ‘lady’ trying to pronounce the road’s name, hahahahaha.

So, bila pergi an open house on a farm filled with fruit trees, obviously we all pun sambil makan jamuan raya, sambil petik buah sama.

But since it’s only early Spring, the only fruit trees that are fruiting are the mandarins.

But The Little Misses and The Other Half had so much fun petik buah! The Little Misses lagilah, petik buah pakai baju kurung and gumboots, hehehehe.

We took along the gumboots so they could wear them masa nak pergi petik buah. Siap pakai pants under the baju kurung lagi so senang sikit nak memanjat tangga nak petik buah, hahaha.

Ambik gambar depan a row of stone-fruit trees yang tengah galak berbunga.

IMG_2148

rows and rows of mandarin trees, sampai berpinar mata tak tau nak petik buah kat pokok mana. Sungguh lah rasa tamak haloba but we only picked about 2 kg buah aje pun, hehehe.

IMG_2142

Padahal kan, banyak buah mandarin yang besar2 kat bawah tu. Tapi nak jugak panjat tangga untuk ambik yang tinggi2.

IMG_2146

Sebijik macak rupa pekerja ladang aje kan, muahahaha…

Bapak borek, anak rintik, hahahaha…

Summer ni, bolehlah diaorang kerja petik buah kan Smile with tongue out.

blu4sky,
anak2 gadis I sejak Raya ni suka sgt pakai baju kurung bila pergi open house so tu yg pakai baju kurung dgn gumboots sambil panjat tangga, hahaha.
Hubby I senyum2 malu you kata dia lagi ensem skrg, hikhikhik.

Anash,
we all kalau boleh nak ambik lebih tp bila fikir balik sape yg nak makan habiskan, tu yg tak jadi, hehehe

Noir,
thanks :-). It feels like we are in a different part of Perth because of the nice view around :-).

Pendragon,
bunga2 stone fruits ni memang cantik2. Maybe sbb tu kot buah2 dia sedap2 kan :-).

Fatt,
Toodyay is pronounced Toodjay but the gps lady pronounced it 'too-die-ay', gelak lah we all dengar, hehehe :-).

Gina,
Perth memang slalu dpt sunshine ni even during Winter time. Adelaide pulak memang slalu panjang Winter but scorching hot Summer kan.

Eja,
sealam Hari Raya utk you juga. We all pun slalu petik buah mandarin kat the shops aje. First time petik buah mandarin on the trees :-).

LG, " Gidgegannup " tu, is it dekat Gingin ke? And another thing is why kat sane tu most of nama2 placesnya mesti ade 'up' kat hujung nye? macam Joondalup, Gidgeganup dan banyak lagi yg ade 'up','up' tu...Ape makna disebaliknye ye?? Any historical meaning?..Dulu masa akak kat sane lupe pulak nak tanye2 org sane.....

Nora,
diaorang pegi gulung the sarong until nearly knee length, pastu panjat tangga, hahaha.

Kak Kasih,
diaorang lagi banyak koleksi baju kurung dari I so masa Raya ni lah yg bantai pakai :-).
Itu semua mandarin, memang penuh kat pokok, rasa nak petik aje semua :-).

Kak Arina,
Gidgegannup ni jauh dr Gingin, dekat ke Perth lagi. Kalau tak silap I, 'up' tu maksudnya
water' or 'a place where you can find water' in aboriginal language. So, semua tempat2 tu memang ada water source lah which is selalunya sungai :-).

Aunty LG,
That's one Open House I'd like to go to. Mmmm...I can live on the mandarins alone. Cubalah tanam sepokok kat rumah? yumm.... purrr....meow!

Kalau kat M'sia macam petik buah manggis laa hehe...

lemongrass said...

Putu,
memang best klu dpt petik2 buah ni sambil makan2 kat pokok :)

Cik Bambam,
I lagi suka klu dpt petik2 buah rambutan or jambu or any of the stone fruits. Mandarin ni kureng sikit sbb bukannya boleh mkn banyak mana pun, sakit perut, hehehe

Angelina,
We are going to plant 1 mandarin tree soon but tgh fikir nak tanam kat either front or the back :-)

Kak Zai,
Buah manggis lagi sedap dr mandarin :-).
