It’s my birthday and I cook even if I (dont) want to ^___^

Thank you so much to everyone for all the warm wishes on my birthday hari ni. It is really nice to receive all the doas and the wishes from friends and families.

I am thankful to Allah for another birthday spent with my loved ones.

And since it’s my birthday, my post will be filled with photos lah ye sebab I spent today cooking and baking all the things that I want to eat, hehehe.

(And tomorrow will be spent reacquainting myself with the elliptical since I have stuffed myself senseless hari ni, hahahaha.)

And before you asked, no one cooked dinner for me but we bought some ready-made stuff for dinner so I didn’t have to spend too long in the kitchen .

(The Other Half said that they love me so much that they do not want to spoil my birthday dinner by cooking it. Yo lah tu….).

As usual, we started the day with card giving and birthday hugs and kisses. Selalunya my birthday falls during the school holidays but this year tak pulak. But Miss 7 stayed at home with me sebab she wasn’t too well to go to school.

She chose this card because she says it is so true Mum!

And then I spent the morning masak pulut and Serunding Udang Kering yang I tengok kat Rumah Kak Rose. Kak Rose pulak dapat recipe ni dari CMG. Thanks you all berdua, memang sedap!

(At first I ingat nak buat pulut panggang since daun pisang ada lagi sekilo tu tp bila dah siap masak pulut and serunding, terus malas nak buat, hehehe.)

The pulut and serunding that I had for lunch with Miss 7 .

Sambil2 I masak pulut and serunding, I masak sagu gula melaka for our dessert tonite.

I ingat nak buat my birthday kek pagi tadi but puas I selongkar everywhere, I couldn’t find the poppy seeds so terpaksalah I tangguh sampai ke petang utk buat the kek.

So, what kind of cake did I make for myself?

An orange poppy seed cake with orange icing. I tak guna the cream cheese icing though.

I pi bubuh icing when the cake was still warm, tu yang meleleh aje the icing everywhere, hehehe….

I love poppy seed cake!

And then for dinner pulak, we had 3-course meal, an entree, a main and a dessert! (Mentang2 birthday dia, sampai 3-course meal, tak larat….. hahahaha.)

We had peking duck for entree. All ready-made, tinggal reheat and makan aje . For people kat OZ, Luv-a-duck products are halal so senang nak cari everywhere.

Then for main, we had burger and fries and salad. Actually I tak kisah nak makan apa pun but since I yang kena masak, we opted for something easy .

Then for dessert, we had the sagu gula melaka or as The Other Half says it ‘sago gule malacca’, hehehehe…..

By this time, perut I rasa dah tak larat sangat2 but there’s still the birthday cake to be eaten and candle to be blown and birthday song to be sung.

(The Other Half pasang 1 humongous candle for me to blow. He said, “It will take too long if I were to light 41 candles and the carbon tax will be too high! ”)

All in all, it was a wonderful day surrounded by people I love most.
