It is so difficult to get yourself motivated to start cooking again after coming back from a holiday. It’s not like I didn’t cook masa kat farm tu, but most of my cooking involved reheating food only, hehehe.
(but then bila I bercuti kat Msia for a few weeks, even though I do cook kat Msia occasionally but hati I still meronta2 tak sabar nak balik nak masak in my own kitchen, hahahahaha… haparah kan!)
Masa kat farm tu I cooked scrambled eggs for both breakfasts, I cooked pancakes (instant from a container yang tinggal tambah air aje tu, hehehe) as well for one of the breakfasts and then cooked spaghetti on the first night. Everything else I just shoved in the oven and let the oven do its job . That’s why I like cooking everything in advance so I boleh bersenang lenang duduk depan heater sambil baca my Kindle, hehehe.
I froze all the meals in aluminium foil containers yang ada lid tu so senang nak reheat dalam oven, tak payah kena transfer to another container. Then, masa nak makan, tinggal senduk aje from that container, pastu terus buang. No extra dishes to be washed!
So, what have I been cooking the past few nights?
The first night we all balik, we all just makan chicken and chips aje. All from frozen stock so senang hidup .
Last night I made pizza for everyone else but I makan nasi, hahaha.
Padahal kat farm tu I bawak vegetable briyani rice makan dengan butter chicken but I guess it’s not the same as nasi putih kan .
I actually teringin sangat2 nak makan tumis bilis+bawang+cili goreng ni with telur goreng and ‘ulam mat saleh’ tu yang I rela hati masak nasi just for me while orang lain makan pizza,.
And since ada tahu goreng I found dlm freezer, I pun tambah ler into the tumis mixture. Orang lain tak makan ni sebab kering-takde-kuah-takut-tercekik which was good sebab more for me, heeeeee….
And tonite pulak, I made something completely different.
Since it’s Winter, I pun masak the token Winter food which is soup.
Kat rumah ni, we all tak makan soup sangat. Very very rarely kitaorang makan and slalunya beli yang dalam can aje. But tonite tetiba terpanggil pulak hati I nak masak soup from scratch.
I made hearty and creamy chicken soup using leek, celery, onion, ginger, carrot, potato, cauliflower, cabbage, chicken stock and chicken in it. And a little bit of cream towards the end, tu yang hearty and creamy tu . Kiranya Mat Saleh style bukan malay style chicken soup lah sebab takde rempah ratus 4 sekawan or sup bunjut, hehehe.
Makan dengan toasted turkish bread, memang lazat and tak perlu makan benda lain dah sebab so mengenyangkan.
