Laaamaaaaaanya tak makan…..

I got some good news from the online company in regards to my orders. They managed to track the orders down and they will all be delivered to the correct address with the correct house number, hehehehe. Lepas ni memang I akan ingat our address selama2nya lah, hikhikhik…

No more hantuk kepala kat dinding episodes .

Luckily our home phone number tak bertukar bila pindah ke rumah baru ni so takde lah tersilap tang tu. Tu yang sampai sekarang I tak tukar2 my mobile phone number sebab sudah gerenti nya tak kan ingat nombor baru kalau tukar!

Memang symptoms dah meningkat umur even though hati masih tak mengaku dah tua, hahaha….

Malam ni The Other Half ada Christmas function so I boleh bebas sakan nak makan apa pun for dinner. I made baked chicken wings and fried ramen noodles for The Little Misses while untuk I pulak I buat…….

Tadaaaaa… Yong Tau foo! . I tension sebab masa balik M’sia last December, I tak dapat makan yong tau foo langsung.

Haritu I jumpa yong tau foo buatan M’sia dah siap packed in the frozen section at the Asian grocery shop. Dalam pack tu ada 1 solok lada, 1 solok bende, tahu sumbat fishcake, crab balls goreng, crab stick and tahu gulung. So tadi I tinggal buat kuah yong tau foo recipe from Minami MyR and goreng some more tauhu and soaked some rice noodles.

Yang funny nya, kalau kat M’sia I memang tak kan ambik solok lada or solok bende ni sebab I tak minat. Tapi bila dah ada dalam pack, bedal aje lah kan, hehehe. Solok bende lagi sedap dari solok lada for me.

Sayur hijau tu was kangkung, petik kat my vege patch. Tapi masih kecik2 lagi but I nak sangat makan dengan yong tau foo, I petik aje, hehehe….

Kat sana sejuk, kat sini panas

The Northern Hemisphere tengah mengalami severe cold snap sekarang with snow falling everywhere and it’s not even the middle of Winter yet.

While kat Perth pulak sekarang tengah mengalami heat wave and it’s not even middle of Summer yet! I’m so glad of the aircondition. Bila you duduk dalam rumah, memang tak terasa langsung bahang nya but as soon as you step outside even just 1 step, terus tak boleh nafas because of the hot wind and the really dry menggigit heat even under the shade.

I keluar rumah beberapa langkah nak pergi ke the fridge that we put just outside the kitchen door tu pun dah terasa sangat2 bahang nya. All my plants require 3 waterings daily sekarang especially the lettuce, zucchinis, tomatoes, all the herbs, chilis and capsicums. kalau tak siram 3 kali, memang semua akan wilted teruk2. The roses we all tak kisah sangat because I think they can survive.

And on top of the suffocating heat, the blooming flies are having the time of their lives as well. That’s what I hate about hot days i.e Spring and Summer in OZ ni. You’ve never seen flies until you come here.

Kalau kat M’sia, the flies takut jugak kat orang and would rather kerumun food and rubbish kan. But the flies kat sini teramatlah sangat sukanya kat orang especially our faces instead of suka food or rubbish. Memang diaorang akan kerumun kita instead of kerumun our food. They are attracted to our sweet smell especially kalau you pakai perfume. Memang tesion gilers! Tu yang kadang2 boleh tersedak lalat sebab bila kita tengah sibuk berborak dia hinggap kat mulut and tersedut masuk dalam mulut, Eugghhhh!!

The moral of the story, bila musim Summer, kurangkan lah bercakap and bergossip bila di luar rumah kalau tak nak termakan lalat, hikhikhikhik……

But our dinner tonite memang  bukan lalat . I made bolognese sauce. The Other Half and Miss 11 makan dengan sourdough bread while Miss 7 and I makan dengan spaghetti..

Write up about the weekend

We had a lazy stayed at home Saturday, memang tak keluar rumah langsung which was so relaxing.

Sunday pulak seperti biasa ada Sunday School but The Other Half yang hantar The Little Misses sebab I malas nak keluar and banyak house chores to do.

Ye lah, from Monday-Friday jadi supir so bila weekend, I malas nak pegang steering kereta.

Miss 7 borak2 dengan her Nana on the phone about the dance that they went to.

Miss 7: I went as a panda!

Nana:……………

Miss 7: My Mum made the panda suit for me to wear.

Nana:……………………..

Miss 7: My Mum made it!

Miss 7: she also painted my face with white face paint and black around the eyes and nose.

(Nana punya conversation I kena lah buat dot dot dot sebab I cuma dengar Miss 7’s side aje, hehehe).

I wonder apa yang Nana cakap ye sampai Miss 7 kena tekankan again yang Mak dia yang jahit baju panda tu, hikhikhikhik…

Agaknya sukar sikit kot dia nak percaya yang menantu dia ni sanggup bersengkang mata jahit baju panda tu sebab dia tau yang menantu dia ni ada banyak malassssss….. .

Terpaksalah The Other Half emailed Mak nya the photos (atas desakan bini dia ni sebab nak membuktikan ke terer an nya menjahit baju panda, hahaha).

Di samping terer buat baju panda, menantu dia pandai gak masak . Malam tadi I masak burger with chips, fried zucchini (petik kat kebun kat tepi rumah tu), lettuce n tomato salad (petik kat vege patch) n corn (kedai mari sebab corns kita orang tak besar lagi, hehehe).

Hah kau, penuh sepinggan Corelle dengan segala macam benda!

And then malam ni for dinner, I made seafood quiche sebab The Other Half dah mintak I buat seafood quiche since Monday lagi. Tapi biasalah kan, bini dia kena tunggu datang mood rajin baru boleh buat.

Timun and tomatoes in the salad pun from the vege patch. Best betul bila terasa nak makan salad, tinggal petik aje kat belakang rumah .

Fantabulous Friday

I know there’s no such word in the Oxford dictionary as fantabulous. Cikgu Dinas jangan tersedak pulak ye bila tengok the word fantabulous tu, hehehe.

Hari ni banyak betul benda berlaku at The Little Misses’ school. They have a ‘black n yellow’ dress day today to represent ‘saving energy’ day. And if you wear black and yellow to school hari ni, you have to donate a gold coin which will masuk tabung sekolah.

(Oh yeah, kat OZ ni ada gold coins. Our 1 dollar and 2 dollar are in coin forms, not kertas. But they are both gold in colour so bila you see ‘gold coin donation’, they mean you donate $1 or $2 lah.)

Anyway, The Little Misses cuma pakai t-shirt kuning and black pants aje, senang cerita.

And they also have a food stall today during recess and lunch. All the Year 7 kids were asked to donate food to be sold at the food stall. The money collected will be used by the Year 7 students to buy a nice farewell gift for the school. Since Miss 11 is in year 7, I pun kenalah donate some food. I made beef curry puffs and caramel popcorns. Obviously, karipap tu went so quickly lah sebab Mat Saleh kat sini memang minat curry puffs and I was the only one yang buat karipap. Belum habis recess dah habis semua karipap tu . Popcorns pun habis cepat jugak.

I said to Miss 11 yang they better sell my karipap for 50 cents each or more sebab I buat karipap saiz M-L and ada daging lagi, tak berbaloi I penat2 mengelim kalau diaorang jual 3 for $1, hahahaha.

So, bangun pagi2 tadi terus goreng karipap and buat caramel popcorns. Memang ibu mithali sungguhlah, hahaha.

Pastu, after school, kena kelam kabut siapkan the panda sebab her dance started at 4.30 and I volunteer to help at the dance.

Sape kata I tak boleh jadi make-up artist ni? hikhikhik.

Kalau ada yang teringin nak muka ala2 panda on your wedding day, boelh lah contact I eh! Wahkahkahkah…..

Ada lah jugak kan gaya2 panda . Cuma I terlupa nak buat bamboo leaves aje untuk dia pegang!

Masa ni Miss 7 sibuk kata her nose is itchy! Kenalah I garukan sebab tak nak the paint to come off. Masa ni lah segala benda itchy! hehehe.

Lepas balik from her dance, terus prepare dinner. Nasib baik Miss 11 nya dance time slot berbeza so bolehlah dinner and solat Maghrib dulu.

I silap beli hair gel, beli yg tak power sangat so her hair tak boleh nak shape jadi mohawk style.

Tak sempat nak ambik gambar Miss 11 banyak2 sbb we were running late already. Kesian dia, I couldn’t do her hair and make up really well macam punk rocker, hikhikhik…..

The Other Half volunteered to help at Miss 11’s dance so he’s now ‘working’ as the bouncer at the dance hall door. Dia ok aje kalau suruh buat muka bengis, sure nya budak2 tu akan takut, hahahaha.

They are not back from the dance yet.

T for Thursday, P for Panda

Baju panda Miss 7 dah siap. Tapi I tak buat suit, cuma buat baju aje and then pakai dengan black trackpants. But I buat memang rustic sungguh, takde kisah langsung jahitan tak lurus or kemas sangat. Nak pakai sekali tu aje kan so tak payah lah buat dengan teliti habis (nampak sangat malas nya kan, hehehe).

I bought this material untuk baju panda tu yang a bit fluffy and fuzzy. So, kalau ada sape2 yang nak pegang ‘badan’ dia esok, dapatlah rasa ala2 fur, hikhikhik….

 

I know still tak nampak macam panda lagi but hopefully bila Miss 7 pakai esok, adalah nampak ala2 panda .

Siap ada hood for the head and 2 round black cardboards I lekatkan kat hood tu untuk the ears. Nasib baik I jumpa this craft glue yang dah bertahun2 and dah nearly keras untuk lekatkan cardboard tu on the hood. Esok tinggal paint her face white and black around the eyes and nose.

Untuk Miss 11 pulak, I pi gunting gunting her old leggings so barulah nampak punk rocker with torn pants kan . I also bought a pink coloured hair spray and hair gel so bolehlah buat rambut dia ala2 Cindy Lauper, hahahaha. I have to selongkar my bathroom cabinet to search for my kohl eyeliner. I’m not a make-up person so memang kena selongkar cari baru jumpa kot. Sponge make-up pun I takde so I kena beli 1 esok untuk put the face paint on.

Malam ni I buat prawn kuey teow goreng guna dried rice noodles, tu yang halus2 aje kuey teow nya.

And then ini pulak pokok zucchini we all yang dah berbuah. Bunga zucchini ni boleh makan jugak. Selalunya orang buat stuffed zucchini flowers and then goreng.

Zucchini ni keluarga marrow macam timun tu but you normally cook it first before eating it. I selalu sautee the zucchini with garlic and olive oil.

Ada jugak orang buat zucchini chocolate cake. They grate the raw zucchini and letak dlm choc cake, macam kita grate raw carrot lah. It doesn’t taste bad but I tak suka sangat sebab I like my chocolate cake pure and sinful filled with chocolate and cocoa, not full of vegetable!

What a foolish Wednesday

I’m such a doofus!

I sekarang tengah giat membeli barang online (alah, baru 2-3 kali aje pun ). Last week I belilah ada satu barang which the company says will take 7-10 days to get here.  I pun ok lah lagi sebab I baru aje order hari Khamis lepas so obviously tak sampai lagi. And tadi, that site buat November sale so I pun beli lah a few more things. I pun bayar lah after making sure all the details are correct.

And then while I was at home tengah hari tadi trying to siapkan the panda suit, I terdengar lah bunyi a few trucks around. Dalam hati I kata, maybe it’s the thing that I ordered last week dah sampai. But when I looked outside, no truck whatsoever.

And then tetiba, I had this weird feeling that I’ve put down the wrong details on the delivery address. Kelam kabut I checked my account details on that site.

Ya Rabbi!!!!! Memang I’m such a mega doofus. I did put the wrong house number on my account. D’oh! D’oh! D’oh! D’oh! I tak tau lah kenapa, I letak number 8 instead of 5. Maybe sebab rumah yang we all beli kat Adelaide dulu was number 8, so tu yang I wasn’t thinking straight.

Terpaksalah tadi I menapak menebalkan muka pergi rumah jiran I yg nombor 8 tu untuk menagih simpati dari dia. Supaya dia tolong bagitau the delivery man when they come mana rumah I yang betul, hikhikhikhik….

Nasib baik lah the delivery requires my signature and they have my phone number. I’m really hoping I’ll get the stuff sooner or later instead of lost in limbo sebab diaorang tak dapat nak deliver ke I sebab ke doofus an I.

Dah nak masuk 3 bulan tinggal kat rumah ni pun still tak ingat lagi ka nombor rumah?

Hapa lah, ada jugak manusia macam I ni (sambil menghantukkan kepala ke dinding berkali2!).

Something beginning with the letter P

P for princess, P for pirate, P for pyramid but what did they choose? Punk rocker and Panda!

The Little Misses have a school dance this Friday nite and they are supposed to come as something starting with P. Punk rocker, I can do. Senang aje nak kit Miss 11 up in a punk rocker gear. I’ve already got her a black t-shirt with ‘rock chick’ on it and a faded denim skirt to be worn with torn leggings. Pastu mekap sikit2, jadi lah punk rocker kan . The Other Half kata, “don’t forget the nose ring!” Hikhikhikhik….

But Miss 7 wants to go as panda. At first, she wanted to go as papparazzi. We told her that papparazzi just dressed in jeans and t-shirt with a big camera around their neck. Nothing spectacular about them. Tu yang dia terus tukar nak go as panda tu.

Hah, padan muka Mummy dia kena buat costume panda! Hehehehe…

Macam mana I nak buat budak yang pakai baju pink tu serupa macam statues yang black and white tu?

Alahai anak, most of the other girls will be dressed as princesses, but you wouldn’t be caught dead in a princess costume. You would rather come as a panda than a princess, hahaha.

Do you know how difficult it was nak cari a white and a black hooded sweat shirts? I went to so many second hand stores tadi nak cari materials to make a simple panda ‘suit’ but memang tak jumpa.

I’m not going to spend so much money buying or renting something that she’s only going to wear once so tu yang I cari material nak jahit sendiri (konon konon nya, hehehe).

Takpe, 4 more days to look around….

Anyone out there with a spare panda costume?

They are excited! Thanks to Mum’s blog!

The Little Misses are so excited that their ‘appeal’ (through their Mum’s glemer blog ) for pen pals was met with much enthusiasm from a lot of people (especially by the Mak Mak, hikhikhik). They have emailed a few new friends last nite and this morning and are still going through a few more. Let’s just say, it took Miss 7 quite a long time to type a few sentences so if she’s a bit late in replying/sending emails, please be patient ye! . I guess when she’s not used to the qwerty keyboard, finding all the letters are quite difficult! The letters don’t go the right way of A first, then B, then C…… Jenuh jugaklah dia nak mencari, hahahaha. She said that writing letters are much easier!

But Miss 11 is quite used to typing on the keyboard so it didn’t take her that long to type. Cuma nak compose the email tu yang makan masa sikit kot, hehehe.

Don’t worry, you’ll get emails from them eventually . Unlike Mum diaorang yang amat malas nad lembab nak balas emails, muahahaha.

They wanted me to tell everyone thank you very much for wanting to be their penpals and they are very much looking forward to exchanging emails, postcards and letters with their new friends.

Macam I masa kecik2 dulu jenuh menunggu berminggu2 jugak lah untuk dapat balik the reply from the postman. Ye lah, nak penpals from overseas aje (memang dasar pilih kasih betul!hikhikhik) and masa tu mana ada emails bagai so kenalah guna aerograms lalu mel udara. And probably the postal system at that time tak sebagus sekarang kan so tu yang ambik masa lambat nak sampai, hehehe.

Unfortunately, I’ve lost contact with all my penpals and I’ve forgotten all their names pun . So teruk of me kan!

Our dinner malam ni was just chicken burger kebab. I guna ready made crumbed chicken burger and then sliced it thinly and panfry it with some spices. Then makan with salad, garlic sauce and lebanese bread.

And semalam I made mango lassi because it was so humid and hot.

Just mango flesh, greek yoghurt, milk and a pinch of sugar. It was so refreshing!

I love Spring and Summer sebab musim mangoes .
