Should we or shouldn’t we?

What would you do if your Other Half’s got an offer to work in a place more than 3000 kms away from home for a year? I guess it depends on a lot of things kan. The Other Half has been telling me for a while now that the Sydney people want him to work there for a lot longer than flying there for a few days every month. Every time, I’ve told him that I don’t want to relocate to Sydney because I really really like Perth. I guess nampak sangat I dah berumur kan, hehehe. Sebab kalau orang muda di tanya whether nak pindah Sydney or nak stay kat Perth, sure lah akan terus melonjak2 nak pindah Sydney kan :-). Tapi bila I yang kena tanya, terus kata nak stay kat Perth yang so quiet, takde Sunday trading, takde late night trading :-).

Tadi The Other Half came home and told me yang they are really desperate for him to work in Sydney for a year and they are willing to meet our demands (ye lah tu, sekarang memang lah mulut manis kan, macam2 kata nak bagi. But nanti, bila dah kat sana, mau nya macam2 tak terbagi). We asked The Little Misses if they want to move to Sydney. They straight away said yes! I think diaorang ingat macam nak pergi holidays agaknya, somewhere exciting and new kan :-). In a way, it will be like a holiday jugak kan but prolonged holidays sebab we are definitely coming back to Perth after the year has finished. But there’s so many things to think about before we can decide whether to accept the offer or not. The Other Half memang tak kan pergi sorang2 ke Sydney for a year and we all pun tak nak lah berpisah dengan dia for a year. Sydney tu jauh weh, lebih kurang Perth-KL aje! Pastu, tiket flight ke Sydney lagi mahal dr ticket flight ke KLIA, hehehe.

I ni malas nak pindah randah sebab memikirkan segala benda kat dalam rumah ni. For sure lah, we all tak kan mengangkut segalanya just for a year kan. And then, the Little Misses schooling lagi sebab kat sini, every state has different syllabus for their schools. After that 1 year, bila balik sini, Miss 10 akan straight away masuk high school so we all nak lah dia follow the WA system while she’s in Sydney. Mau nanti I buat home schooling aje for them both, hahahaha.. Poning eden, bertambah2 lagi benda yang nak kena fikir…Hish…..

Sebelum you all pun pening sama, layan lah ye gambar our dinner tonite.

Beef stroganoff makan dengan pasta and home made hash browns. Tapi tak brown sangat pulaknya. Nampak macam pancakes aje pulak dah kan, hehehe…

Salam LG..
soal berpindah, nak angkut barang tu memang soal kecil jer sebenarnya..

Kena buat survey nih... tiap hari catit UNDI sendiri.. Jika tengah masak.. bandingkan lak.. leh tak buat gini kat tempat baru (contohnyaaa...)

Pening kepala fikir benda2 gini. I dulu masa sebelum migrate ke sini, my hb balik dulu ke Perth sementara I urus my own visa. Very hard, nak jaga anak lagi, nak gi kerja lagi, nak buat urusan rumah lagi, ditambah lagi nak kena collect all the document utk submit my visa application. My anak2 lak mmg miss daddy dia. Took us seven months to finally make our move. Tp in between sempat gak lah gi visit hb kat Perth. My anak2 mmg rapat ngan daddy dia sbb daddy dia type yg hands on. So apa lagi bila nak balik msia, punya lah meraung anak2 dlm airport sampaikan immigration bagi VIP treatment, jumping Q masa beratur.

Finally bila pindah kat sini, hb still tak selalu kat rumah. Even now pun mmg jarang kat rumah. Just imagine the first year, hb kena buat FIFO, 4 weeks on, 1 week off. Tp the different was, we are in the same country. Susah utk I sbb baru kat sini n tak de kawan. Nasib baik gak omar start kindy n I made a few friends dari sekolah dia. So the rest is history.

Kat Aussie ni FIFO atau hb/wife berenggang sbb kerja mmg perkara biasa. Nak pindah randah kalau sbb nak duduk/tinggal lama tak jadi masalah. Budak2 boleh buat kawan baru. Yg masalah ni cuma bila anak2 dah besar dan sekolah diaorg nanti terganggu. Lepas tu kalau hanya nak pindah utk setahun, lepas tu nak balik lagi mmg payahlah. Lagi2 different state. Mcm you ckp curriculum pun bukan sama. Just imagine, pindah randah ni bukan hanya angkut harta benda, tp jugak melibatkan mental n physical. So the best nasihat yg I boleh suggest. Do what's best for your own family. The best for me or others might not suits you. Kan?

salam akak... sihat? hehe... i just want to share a piece of my mind... yeah.. as u said... if you're young.. you will surely choose to move there... for me... a 21 years old human being.. i think i will move there... just for the sake of new experience... why not? im sure u wont regret it... meeting new people, new environment... could be a fresh start, even just for a year. it's good for ur girls too... hehehehe... just an opinion though.. cheerss! take care!

I think moving to Sydney might not be such a bad idea after all (they're willing to meet your demands kan)....it's not like he's moving to Papua New Guinea ke apa ke...and from what I read on your blog earlier, you still have to move to a new house/place pun sooner or later...so, maybe boleh anggap macam tu je lah.and on the homeschooling? u can do it, babe.

Salam Min..Sue ada pengalaman jg bab pindah ni.Dulu masa hubby kena transfer ke Srwk, mcm mcm pendpt kwn kwn bagi, kebanyakannya kontra la.
Masa tu Sue berkedai.Min byg kan, 2salon kecantikan dan 1 kedai Hp. Anak anak pulak sedang doing well in schools.Mmg byk sgt yg Sue kena consider dulu, Hubby dlm bidang plantation, manage ladang yg luas dan we know Srwk..dgn faktor geog yg adventurous.Kalau pindah ke area bandar mcm cikgu cikgi tu kira ok sgt la..tp mana ada ladang kelapa sawit kat tgh bandar kan..

Di pendekkan cerita..After kami bincang panjang lebar ,Sue tekad nak ikut pindah.Hubby nampak lega sgt.Pendapat masing2 tentu b`beza kan..Sue sgt yakin dgn peluang2 baru, cabaran2 or whatever.

Selagi kita masih bersama dgn suami dan anak2, pegi la duk mana mana pun, insyaAllah segala susah senang akan dihadapi bersama.Sue selalu berpendapat hidup kita ni singkat..seboleh mungkin kita perlu lakukan yg terbaik dan cuba luangkan masa dgn org2 tersayang dan lg satu Min, peluang yg baik tak kan datang byk kali..

In your case, Min kena pilih Sydney dan Perth..Dua dua bandar dan byk kemudahan.Cuma mungkin Min kena consider psl pelajaran anak2 la..
Setahun mmg singkat tp mcm mcm perkara boleh berlaku...

Buat la solat istikharah..Byk berbincang dgn suami. To go or not to go.. biar la keputusan bersama..

Anyway tu only as a guide utk Min decide. We know what is the best for us.

Hijrah ni kdg2 bagus Min.

Wassalam..( Sorry..panjang lebar pulak kali ni..he he he)

gimana sih? kak min nak pindah ke?

Pindah ni memang penat. Dengan barang-barang yg banyak tu, anak2 lagi yer.

Kalo Perth much better then Sydney, baik stay Perth ajer....

Tapi best jugak kalo leh tengok tempat org kan :-)

Sheri and i would be the saddest people if you guys decided to move to Sydney even for a year. It's not easy to find wonderful friends like you and Matt. But of course as friends, we want the best for your family. i rasa you memang kena solat istikharah for He will guide you to make the right decision. on hindsight.., best jugak nanti we all dapat gi jalan-jalan kat Sydney hehehe...

Salam...pindah ikut hubby..itu undi i. Tak best live seperately..

Pengalaman sendiri: 'hidup' dan 'jiwa' i 'kucar kacir' masa terpaksa berjauhan dari hubby. Bukan nye jauh sangat pun kuantan KL, then kuantan -mentakab, but i pi 'amok' kat jabatan kesihatan Pahang mintak hubby i di transfer balik ke kuantan..

Terukkan i :)

Hi LG,

How are you? So, dah decide nak ikut gi Sydney or not? For me, it's a very difficult decision to make but not to follow, lagi lah susah. Better to follow your other half coz Perth & Sydney memang teramat jauh. Nak travel tiap2 minggu, tak larat ler. Kalau pindah ke Sydney, you akan keje kat sana tak? Kalau tak keje, memang senang lah nak ikut. Perth is a nice place to stay, not like Sydney. Macam I jugaklah, still prefer to stay in Penang rather than KL. Tak sukanya kalau dok kat KL, tempat yg sesak. I've told my hubby, kalau dia dpt kerja kat KL, I memang tak nak kerja, nak stay at home. Tapi gi ke KL sekali sekala, ok lah.

Kak Ain,
dulu we all pernah duk berjauhan benua, lama lah jugak, first masa takde anak pastu masa anak sorang. Memang sedih :-(.Skrg ni after dah duk sama bertahun2, lagilah susah nya nak duk berjauhan kan.. Tu yg still undecided lagi...

Kak Ita,
tu lah kan, pastu cuma utk setahun aje pulak tu, lagi lah harunya sbb takkan nak angkut segalanya kan..

Shaz,
Patutlah jiwang lain mcm aje you, hehehe. Kalau kita sorang, maybe senang sikit kot sbb kita sorang aje yg rindu but with kids along, pity them kan...

Lia,
hehehe... I read in yr blog :-). Memang susah once the kids dah start school ni, everything kena fikir!

Nadia,
you baca pun pening, lagi lah I, hahaha. Kalau we all berdua aje, memang dah lama say yes :-), tp sbb ada budak dua orang tu, kena fikir lebih sikit lah..

Shidah,
tu lah kan, memang kena solat istikharah mcm ni.. Wehehe, rasanya kat mana ye I nak selit 10 carat diamond ring dlm work contract tu? :P

Kak Azie,
Dulu dah berhijrah fr Adelaide to Perth pun sbb ikut hubby tukar tempat kerja. Skrg ni a bit like that jugak lah kan. Pindah dgn tak pindah both ada pros and contras. My hubby pun sebenarnya bukan excited sgt nak pergi Sydney ni, hehehe. Tu yg masih pening fikir :-).

Nora,
samalah mcm I dulu. I tak apply PR masa awal2 kawin sbb malas, hehehe. Masa anak sorang n hubby dah kat Adelaide, baru lah terhegeh2 urus everything myself kat M'sia and with working full time as well. Nasib baik masa tu Alya baru setahun aje so tak lah dia rindu.
Then pindah pulak Perth fr Adelaide. Memang everytime pindah kena cari kawan baru kan! Nasib baik lah I ni jenis yg mmng tak ramai kawan so tak lah rasa lonely giler, hehehe...
But like you said, kat OZ ni ramai families with Hubbies/Dads FIFO lifestyle. But I rasa sbb we all ni dah so many years tak berenggang, tu yg leceh sikit nak berpisah :-)...

Tasha,
I pun kalau muda lagi like you and takde anak2, memang terus akan pindah Sydney straight away, hehehe. Like you said, new lifestyle and new friends kan :-)..

Zarin,
you suka happening nya city ye? I pulak suka city yg quiet yg penuh dgn parks like Perth ni. Tu yg kena fikir banyak2 kali, hehehe...

Adnazthie,
lawak sponsor Beras Nasional ye? hehe ;-P. Kalau we all jadi pindah Perth, blog I makin lagi interesting lah nanti ye sbb adventures aje every wknd, hehehe

Ayu,
Uish, tu lagi jauh and lagi lama ye. Sanggup diaorang ye, tabah betul lah yr SIL tu. Maybe klu I kat M'sia, hubby kat sini, tak terasa sgt kot sbb ramai family around me. Tapi klu dia kat Sydney and we all kat Perth, sure rindu2an giler2 sbb takde families, hahaha...

Am,
Tu lah, nasib baik lah Sydney aje not PNG kan, hehehe. Tapi klu we all jadi pindah, rasanya mmng lah I kena buat homeschooling sbb nak ikut WA nya syllabus. Ada gaya tak I jadi cikgu? hahaha

Kak Watie,
Thanks for the doa :-). we all pun tak rela berjauhan sebenarnya. Pernah berjauhan dulu, mmng seksa, hehe. Banyak betul yg nak kena fikir sekarang ni, penuh sekejap my brains, hehehe...

lemongrass said...

MyLifeMyWorld,
Tu lah kan, memang kena lah list down everything, hehehe...

Sue,
Thanks for the story, it was nice to hear yang you pun pernah buat a very major seachange by moving to Sarawak. Sure penuh cabaran kan masa tu. Betul yang Sue cakap, whatever our decision is, being together as a family tu yang paling penting kan. Rezeki ada kat mana2 but spending time dgn family is the best choice at the end.
I pun rasa kalau we all pindah, I will definitely have to spend more time with the kids because I intend to homeschool them insyaAllah which hopefully will bring us closer :-).
Doakan lah we'll make the right choice..

Ara,
Tak tau lagi. Dua2 ada best n tak best nya, tu yg tak habis2 fikir ni, hehehe..

Salina dearest,
Tu lah, baru aje dpt mesra2, dah kena pindah for a year. A year tu tak lama but at the same time, lama lah jugak kan :-). Matt pun dah mcm2 plan nak pergi sightseeing ke Gold Coast, Canberra, Brisbane klu jadi pindah Sydney, hahahaha....

Dr. N,
I know, memang tak best hidup berjauhan ni. Dulu I kerja kat Kuching and Hubby kat Adelaide, siksa... pastu baru kahwin lak tu, hahaha.... Tu yg kalau boleh, tak nak lah duk jauh2 lagi dah :-).

Iaaini,
We all kalau jadi pindah, memang semua akan pindah. Hubby pun tak nak pergi sorang2 sbb nanti dia makan hati ulam jantung kat sana, hehehe... Kalau we all jadi pindah Sydney, I rasa I akan stop working and jadi cikgu anak2 I at home buat home schooling.
I pun tak suka sesak2 ni tu yg malas sikit nak pindah Sydney yg sentiasa busy tu...
