Playing with flour

The Other Half told me that he loves bread.

He can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and for snacks in between.

The Other Half said he loves toasts for breakfast with butter and honey or jam.

And then he can have sandwiches for his lunch.

And a nice crusty homemade bread for dinner.

And maybe doughnuts or brown sugar scrolls for snacks.

He said macam sesetengah asians’ relationships with rice lah!

Ye lah kan, ada orang tu boleh makan nasi lemak for breakfast, then nasi campur for lunch and then nasi goreng for dinner.

Pastu makan pulut panggang and pulut manis or serimuka for snack times.

Semua berasaskan beras/pulut lah kan.

I guess untuk orang yang suka noodles like me, masa kat Msia dulu, I could have mee goreng for breakfast, then mihun soto for lunch and mee jawa for dinner!

Sangat lah heavennya, hahahahaha….

Tu lah sebabnya I memang kena buat bread at least once a week!

And if you kena buat bread once a week, lama2 you akan terer sebab practice makes perfect kan!

You rasa kan kalau I kena buat kek lapis sarawak or swiss rolls or rainbow cakes or creme caramel once a week…..I akan jadi terer tak agaknya?

Jadi gemuk maulah kot, terer tu probably second, hahahahaha….

Like malam tadi, I dah buat pizza for dinner.

The pizza dough waiting to be rolled flat and topped with pizza sauce and cheese.

And selepas dibakar.

I buat cheese pizza aje because that’s what they asked for.

I tak makan langsung sebab I dah kenyang giler makan at lunch time ada makan2 at a friend’s house.

And then pagi tadi when I asked him what should we have for dinner tonite.

His answer was, “I would like a nice homemade bread.”

See, bread lagi!

So, I made basil, sundried tomato and colby cob loaf.

Rupa the loaf sebelum dibakar.

And selepas dibakar…

And esok, for Sunday school, I nak bawak donuts.

Another bread!

Tu sebab I kena beli tepung roti yang 12kg guni tu at a time and kena beli yeast dalam botol besar.

Tak mainlah setakat sekilo dua tepung roti or packet yeast kecik2 tu! 1 week dah habis kalau kecik2.

Kalau my friends datang rumah, terkejut diaorang tengok my tepung roti container. My beras container pun kecik lagi dari itu, hahahahaha…..

Susumanis,
salam. one day kan, I nak cuba buat roti ala2 roti gardenia butterscotch tu. Mana lah tau, menjadi, bolehlah I jual kat sini, hahahaha

Emy,
hahaha...makan roti toast sambil tengok tv, memang best kan :-)

Uque,
thanks :-)

Fizah,
buat roti tak leceh, tu yg cepat nak jadi expert. Tapi klu kena buat kek lapis sarawak, kek caramel pelangi or swiss roll, mau lah sampai tua baru expert kot, heeee

Aida,
bolehlah you join orang rumah ni yg suka sgt2 makan roti esp homemade. kalau boleh, hari2 nak suruh I buat roti! :-)

Sue,
Best kan klu tengok roti gebu2 ni. I suka masuk bakeries kat msia, mmng rasa mcm tak nak keluar sbb nak beli segalanya, hahaha

Unaizah,
memang sedap makan panas2 sbb fresh kan. Kalau dah sehari dua tu, lagi sedap toasted :-)

Farah,
I had professional training but not in cooking nor baking, hahaha.

Mulan,
memang sgt jimat beli sekali seguni ni. Dulu I slalu beli yg 5kg aje, tp cepat sgt habisnya. Skrg terus beli segoni, baru padan muka, hahahha. My breakfast toast pun beli aje sbb malas nak buat. Dinner bread baru rajin :-)

Huda,
roti padang pasir yg leper tu sgt sedap klu makan panas2 :-)

Hani,
alamak, I takde recipe exact measurement. Nanti klu I buat lagi, I jot down the recipe ye.
