An update on the greens….

Summer is definitely here and the plants are showing signs of Summer.

This is our overgrown lettuce, spinach patch.

Patutnya all these vegetables you are supposed to use daily kind of thing, petik sikit2 so tak lah overgrown.

But there’s only so many times you can eat lettuce and spinach and bok choy before you get a bit sick of it.

But obviously the plants thought that we love to eat them so much so they continue growing and growing until dah nak terkeluar from the bed and the bok choys pun dah siap keliuar bunga and biji benih berlambak2, hikhikhik….

Same goes with our basil plants.

The weather is just right to make them bolt and start flowering.

All the herbs in the pots pun dah start flowering sampai tak nampak the leaves dah!

This was our overlooked zucchini.

Dah sampai besar lengan I saiz dia, baru we all ternampak dia di celah2 all the green leaves.

I thought of making zucchini cake with it tapi sape aje yang nak makan.

The Other Half is back on his diet and exercise regime (and he has lost lots of weight and looking more and more like Bruce Willis now, muahahahaha) and the girls wont eat it that much so tu yang malas pulak nak buat sebab I lah yang kena makan nanti kan.

The joi choys also need harvesting.

I love to plant all these veges but bila nak gunakan tu yang a bit selow, hehehe….

Same goes with our tomato plants.

Tomato plants need constant pruning for them not to grow feral and wild.

You have to prune off the side shoots almost daily so they wont grow.

But manalah ada masa hari2 nak buat tomato pruning ni kan. Tu yang jadi macam hutan belantara sekarang ni.

The snake beans are doing ok so far. Adalah kena makan caterpillars and I have to help the shoots wrap around the trellis.

Our lemon tree has started producing fruits but tak tau lah bila akan ripen.

Our tahitian lime plant pun dah start keluarkan buah juga. Cant wait to start using them.

Our blueberry plant is a joy to be seen, hehehe.

Beratus2 buah menunggu untuk masak and dipetik.

Sampai kan The Other Half kata dia nak tanam blueberry plants all along the back fence!

Sure seronok bila fruit picking time kan .

And our sunflowers have definitely risen up to their variety name, the ‘sunflower king’.

The fence is about 6-foot high so dah memang over 2metres lah.

And the harvest I got from the garden yesterday.

Alhamdulillah for the bountiful harvest .
