Farewell 2012…

It’s the last day of 2012 and the temperature got up to 42.2C petang tadi!

Angan2 nak pergi picnic sambut New Year pun terus lah tak jadi bila dah panas sangat macam tu.

And it’s 8.30 at night now but the temperature is still around 33C!

The Other Half beria ajak pergi beach sekarang sebab dia kata sure sedap aje duduk tepi beach dengan angin sepoi2 bahasa and warmish temperature.

Eeeeh, tak kuasa I nak duduk tepi beach malam2 New Year eve ni. Tak pasal2 kena mugged and harassed dengan all the drunks!

Baik duduk diam2 kat rumah kan, lagi best!

The BOM kata this one week unbearable heatwave will come to an end tomorrow.

Temperature esok predicted to be around 33C, then 27C, then 25C….

We thought sepanjang The Other Half bercuti ni, konon2nya nak pergi cycling every day satu family.

Tapi with the temperature giler punya panas, terpaksalah kuburkan hasrat tu.

But hopefully, before dia start balik kerja, boleh lah pergi cycling a few times during the nicer days.

And for the past few days sejak panas2 ni, I malas sangat nak fikir nak masak apa.

So, ended up, for the past 4 days, tiap2 malam I masak different dinner for everyone, hahahaha.

Sebab tekak semua tak berselera nak makan heavy dinners bila panas2 ni and tekak semua nak benda lain2, tu yg I pun prepare different dinner for each one.

On Sat nite, The Other Half nak makan seafood laksa so I buat laksa for the adults.

The girls makan curly fries and sausages.

Then on Sunday afternoon, sebab it was such a hot day, it was perfect to bake bread.

I made sausage buns Malaysian style.

Selepas dimasak….

And then tonite, I terasa sangat nak makan mee sup tulang so I pun buat sup tulang.

Miss 9 and I makan mee sup tulang, The Other Half makan maggi goreng dengan baked chicken wings and sup tulang while Miss 13 makan baked chicken wings with ricotta puff pasties.

Bila panas2 ni, tekak semua berbeza2, hehehehe….

And then since dah nak masuk 2013, I sengaja mengada2 nak active ber instagram sebab tengok semua orang rajin tangkap gambar kat IG.

Actually, dah beberapa kali I bukak account kat IG tu tapi asik lupa usernames and passwords aje sebab tak active, hahahaha….

So, kali ni I buat username yang gerenti I boleh ingat sebab I guna my own name (tak ingat kalu memang scary lah kan ).

But I told The Other Half, “my IG is private so no one can see my photos and I don’t tell people my username so it’s basically just me who can see the photos…”

The Other Half said, “Then what’s the point of you having an instagram? “.

Hmmm…..

Old photos revisited

The temperature reached 40.5C today!

But instead of the typical dry panas menggigit Summer weather, it was very hot and humid!

kalah Malaysia!

Memang rasa sangat2 tak larat nak buat apa2 pun tadi.

But sebab dah rasa lantai rumah melekit2 and rumah messy habis, I kerah semua orang kemas rumah while I dusted, vacuumed and mopped!

Itupun dah berpeluh2 macam buat Zumba, hahahaha.

Alhamdulillah, around 3.30 o’clock tadi, it rained for about 10 minutes so turunlah sikit the temperature now.

But it is still 33C now even dah nak dekat Maghrib ni.

So, bila I kerah semua orang buat kerja mengemas tadi, I suruh jugak the girls cari and kemas their stationeries for school next year.

Sekolah lambat lagi nak bukak but senang kalau dah set aside all the pens, pencils, colouring pencils, glues, scissors, calculators, sharpeners and what not kan.

Tinggal beli aje apa2 yang tak cukup nanti.

And then bila diaorang dah habis mengemas segalanya, suddenly I could hear them giggling and laughing.

Rupa2nya, they were going through the old photos box.

Everyone will giggle and laugh kalau tengok gambar lama ni kan .

And one of the photos they found in the box is this one…

Miss 13 said that Miss 9 ‘invented’ photo bombing sebab she photobombed this photo of her sister a long time before photobombing became famous, hahahaha.

Kalau the date on the photo is correct, Miss 9 was not yet 3 at this time and Miss 13 was 7 and a bit.

The Other Half pulak said that Miss 13 invented the ‘duckface’ yang tengah fofular amongst the youngsters sekarang, hikhikhik….

Since we all dah bukak the old photos box, kenalah we scanned some of the photos and put them up on the blog kan .

Korang layan lah ye gambar2 lama ni, kalau nak gelakkan pun, I ok aje, hahahaha…..

Ini Miss 9 when she was around 5 months old. Sangat bolat segalanya, hahahaha….

 

And ini pulak masa Miss 9 was 2 months old and Miss 13 was 4 1/2. Dua2 pun bolat!

 

Ini pulak Miss 13 when we were still living in Msia and when her hair was still curly and she was still bolat and her kecinaan sangat menyerlah.

I have no idea what happens to her curls. And her kecinaan still menyerlah. But her bolat-ness has definitely started to come back now, hahahaha.

And gambar yang last ni adalah gambar yang paling mahal and sangat2 rare….

It’s the last time The Other Half pakai baju melayu!

Masa ni nikah my Kakak in July 2003 tak silap. Gambar ni ambik kat depan masjid lepas selesai upacara nikah.

Miss 13 was just 4 years old and Miss 9 was still in my womb at that time. I was around 25 weeks preggy kot.

Sejak lepas tu, memang takkan nak lah dia bila disuruh pakai baju melayu, hikhikhik…..

A few more days to the new year

The girls and I did some more early morning shopping this morning.

Pukul 8.30 dah terpacak depan the shopping centre!

Gigih Miss 13 bangun sebelum 7.30 pagi without kena kejut semata2 nak ikut I pergi shopping!

Hahahahaha….

But we didn’t go browsing in all the shops sebab kena balik sebelum solat Jumaat.

Ye lah, kereta satu aje so kenalah bergilir2 pakai….

Just beli apa yang ‘patut’ aje .

But I did buy Wii Zumba sebab tetiba rasa insaf bila tengok yang berat I dah naik 3kg dari berat idaman….

(macam mana berat tak naik, sepanjang 2012, I boleh kira dengan jari berapa kali I exercise but hari2 segala macam food yang fattening masuk dalam perut).

Macam ni kenalah buat azam tahun baru untuk lose weight….AGAIN!!!!!!

Elliptical machine dah dikeluarkan dari dalam shed so boleh aje kalau nak guna buat exercise hari2 tapi biasalah kan, nak jugak variety or else bosan lah kan.

And kadang2 we all exercise on Wii Just Dance which is a good exercise program as well.

But Zumba is different banding dengan Just Dance.

I think Zumba is more fun!

And memang peluh menitik2 lepas buat 40 minutes exercise! Nasib baik exercise atas carpet or else memang dah jatuh tergolek sebab lantai basah kuyup from the sweat, hehehehe.

Even Miss 9 enjoyed her Zumba session with her Dad tadi…

We all semua memang have 2 left feet so memang gelak lah kalau tengok we all menari, hehehehe…

Lepas penat2 berZumba, makan pulak chicken pesto pasta for dinner…..

Ish, ish, ish…..calories in lagi banyak dari calories burnt, heeeeee….

And this was my plate, tak lah banyak mana kan, hikhikhik…

Dah habis all the leftover roast chicken from Tuesday’s lunch.

Lega hati semua orang sebab dah boleh makan protein lain tomorrow, hahahahaha…..

A heatwave rambling

The temperature got up to 38+C today.

Tak lah rasa macam panas sangat tapi when we were busy tidying up the undercover area tengah hari buta tadi, rasalah panas jugak….

Berpeluh2 lah jugak laki I tu mengangkut barang, hehehe..

And kain yang I jemur kering within an hour so panas lah kiranya kan.

Sebab tau dah yang today will be hot, pagi2 morning at 8 lagi I dah terpacak kat depan kedai nak buat post Xmas sale.

Orang lain berpusu2 shopping giler2 semalam, I baru nak bershopping hari ni and esok, hahahaha.

Itu pun sebab terpaksa keluar rumah sebab dah kehabisan roti and milk so sambil nak beli roti and milk, sambil tu jugak I melencong shopping benda lain.

So, banyak jugak lah barang2 yang best2 dah habis…

But I tak kisah sebab lagi bagus dah habis, so tak boleh lah tangan nak capai the stuff dengan sewenang2 nya kan .

I went with Miss 9 only sebab dia aje yang dah bangun masa I nak pergi tu…

And then bila balik rumah, Miss 13 was a bit upset sebab tak ajak dia menyopping sama2.

Lerr….I thought she likes her beauty sleep more than shopping….

Rupa2nya, she’s just like any other girl, shopping always comes first!

Dia rather tak cukup tidur dari tak dapat pergi shopping.

I wonder where she got the genes from?

Hahahaha.

So, bila panas2 ni, I cukup malas nak masak and cukup malas nak ambik gambar food betul2….

So, you all layan aje lah ye gambar our dinners from a  week ago and gambar yg I ambik tadi…

Our favourite meal of burger and chips.

Gerenti semua suka and gerenti sangat senang untuk dimasak, hahaha.

And another one of our favourite meals, cheesy pizza. Lots of pizza sauce and loads of colby and mozzarella.

Punyalah besar pizza I buat, cuma tinggal 3 small pieces aje after that dinner.

And another meal yang cepat dimasak, sedap dimakan, nasi goreng ayam that I made for dinner tonite.

Since ada lagi leftovers roast chicken from the Xmas day lunch, tu yang buat nasi goreng ayam.

Esok boleh buat chicken pesto pasta pulak to use up the final bit of leftover roast chicken, hahahahaha…

For the next few days, Perth will experience temperature around 40C to 42C so terima aje lah ye kalau gambar my food nanti semua gambar maaalaaaasssss……

The project during the heatwave

Boxing Day sale has started today!

But bangun pagi tadi masih lagi berbelah bagi whether nak pergi ke tak to the sale.

Fikir2 balik, takde benda yg we all nak beli sangat2…

And then fikir2 balik, the temperature today will get up to 39C so sure lah panas giler nak bersesak2 kat jalan raya and then bersesak2 kat shopping malls with all those people aiming for the best sales.

Pastu, kalau pergi, sure nya akan terbeli jugak benda2 yang konon2nya tak nak dibeli and not needed kan.

So, baiklah duduk diam2 kat rumah aje in the aircond, hehehehe…..

I might go tomorrow to have a look at the saki baki sale items…..

So, since tak jadi pergi Boxing day sale, I pun tolong The Other Half kemas his shed….

Ye lah kan, The Other Half tengah bercuti so sakan lah dia nak buat kerja yang selama ni asyik tertangguh nak buat aje.

Last week dah buat the front lawn so hari ni and esok kerjakan the shed pulak….

Next week maybe reorganise the back lawn pulak….

Bini dia jugak lah yang kena tolong kan sebab sape lagi yg nak tolong…

kalau I tak tolong, nanti dia tak nak tolong I shopping pulak, hehehehehe….

But before the major makeover, kenalah buat breakfast dulu.

We all dah kehabisan roti kat rumah ni so tak boleh nak buat our normal breakfast of toast.

So, I pun buat lah walnut and brown sugar cinnamon scrolls for breakfast/ morning tea tadi.

Sangat lah sedapnya bila makan panas2…..

Bila dah makan kenyang2, baru lah boleh tackle the shed project kan!

After a few hours of memunggah barang, this is how our undercover area looks like!

Ini lah barang2 yang we all berjaya sumbat in our shed!

Tu sebab tak sape berani masuk the shed sebab takut tak jumpa jalan keluar lepas tu, hahahaha….

Esok, start pulak project membuang/ menjual benda2 yang dah bertahun2 simpan dlm the boxes and tak digunakan….

And then on Friday, project menyimpan semula barang2 ni ke dalam shed…..

But the temperature will be 40C esok and on Friday!

Boleh melt kalau duduk dalam shed lama2!

A day filled with food

So, what did the girls get this Christmas?

Nana and Pop gave them  a few small presents and some cash which they appreciate very much!

And we gave them 1 big present each this time.

Miss 13 got Nintendo 3DS XL which was what she wanted and Miss 9 got an iPod touch 4th generation.

What did The Other Half got me for Christmas?

He got me the latest iPad.

The funny bit is that dia yang beria2 nak beli kan untuk I, bukannya I yang beria2 nak, hahahahaha…..

And what did he get himself for Christmas?

He got himself a Sodastream set.

And he’s also still waiting for the right time to buy another present for him.

What kind of present….. I have no idea, hehehe……

Lepas bangun pagi, gosok gigi, mandi mandi, terus lah bukak pressies sambil berborak on the phone dengan Nana and Pop.

And then for lunch, we all jemput a couple of other families untuk makan2 turkey sambil mengeratkan silaturrahim.

Budak2 lah yg seronok sbb dapat main sama2.

But I hidang jugak benda lain instead of just turkey aje, hehehehe….

Tak kuasa weh nak makan turkey tu aje.

I also made BBQ lemon and rosemary roast chicken, roast potatoes, potato gems, homemade bread rolls, buttered beans with walnut gremolata, beans salad, gravy and cranberry sauce.

While ini pulak meja budak2 and the teens…

Nasib baik with some rearrangements of the furniture, we managed to fit 2 tables to sit 15 people in the dining area.

But 16 lah maximum number of people our house can cope for a sit down at the table meal.

This is my plate.

I terlupa nak ambik the bread roll and terlupa nak ambik beans salad and terlupa nak ambik cranberry sauce to put on my plate masa ni!

But then bila dah ambik semua, terlupa pulak nak ambik gambar, hahahahaha.

Lepas kenyang makan lunch repeat banyak kali, we all sambung pulak makan desserts..

What is Summer without cherries and grapes!

The fruit cakes. I made the fruit and nut cake while my friend made the mixed fruit cake.

Another friend brought this choc brownies.

The pudding truffles that I made.

The fruit mince bites and the almond shortbread.

And the meringue with cream, strawberries and blueberries.

Gosh! What did we not have!

Selepas tu semua tersandar kekenyangan and ada yang sampai tertidur2 lagi,

Hahahaha.

It was a fun day filled with borak2, makan2 and gelak2..

the culprits

Every morning lepas subuh, semangat kental sungguh untuk berjaga mengendap burung apakah yang makan our sunflower seed tu.

Tapi, bila toleh pandang katil and bantal, panggilan mereka lagi mendayu2….

Semangat yang kental pun terus terkubur disitu saje, hahahahaha……

But luckily…..

While we were getting ready to have dinner tadi, we heard birds squabbling outside the window.

True enough, the birds were squabbling over who gets to eat the sunflower seeds!

hahahahaha……
