The wall did it!

The Other Half teringin nak makan egg benedict and cooked breakfast for dinner. So, I pun tanya lah di, “you mean poached eggs and hollondaise sauce?” He said, “that would be so good if you can make it!” Sepanjang2 and selama2 I kahwin dengan dia (macam lah pernah kahwin dengan orang lain, wehehehe), I tak pernah sekali pun cuba buat poached eggs. Why you may ask? Entah lah, everytime I surf or tanya orang or read cook books about poached eggs, every time, they’ll say it’s quite difficult to get the perfect poached eggs. Macam2 cara you have to do to get a perfectly shaped and rightly poached egg. So, I ni kan biasalah, bila something yang agak rumit and leceh ni, memang lah I malas nak buat, hehehe.

And then bila suddenly The Other Half teringin, I pun siap lah baca cara2 on ‘how to poach an egg’ and dah set my mind to making it. But at the last minute, tiba2 dia nak scrambled eggs pulak! Ciss, penat aje I focused my mind to make poached egg, hehehehe. But I would rather make scrambled eggs anytime than making poached eggs :-D. But I still managed to make the hollondaise sauce to be eaten with the scrambled eggs. The Other Half kata, “Luckily I’m on a diet, or else, I would have licked the hollondaise bowl clean!!! It is so good!” Memang lah benda2 creamy ni kesukaan dia, hehehe.

We had scrambled egg and smoked salmon on english muffin with hollondaise sauce.

And ini pulak gambar Miss 6 tonite. Can you see anything different on her face?

This is what happened when the wall suddenly jumped out infront of you ;-D. Budak sorang ni kan memang lah. We had no idea how she didn’t see the big wall in front of her and straight away smacked bang into it! Pastu, teruslah meraung and terus lah Mummy kena letak ice pack on her forehead. Instead of having dinner quietly, she had to have dinner with ice pack on her forehead. Parut kat her pipi from the bike fall masih belum hilang lagi, ini dah tambah 1 benjol besar kat dahi pulak.

OMG LG!!! kesian ms 6...mummy masak egg, she also got an egg on her forehead?? Hope she's ok...kesian tengok her cute face with an egg on her forehead...

As for the other egg, I've heard of egg benedict but never had 1 so far..wonder how's the taste?

Anak2 I dua orang tu kan memang badan sentiasa penuh dgn lebam atau benjol atau parut, tak larat we all :-)

I don't know how the real egg benedict taste like sbb I tak buat poached egg tadi but for me it was creamy aje because of the sauce, hehehe..
Kalau Miss 6's benjol egg ada emas inside, kaya I you, hahaha

tu lah, but besok benjol dia tu sure cantik aje kaler nya kan :-).
A'ah, poached egg tu telur mata tapi rebus dlm air panas yg simmering.

wakakakaka.. tu lah kan, nasib baik lah benjol ni tak tinggal bekas and boleh tutup dengan rambut sbb kat dahi :-).

Hi LG,

First of all I tried your "orange pasta". They were so good. You can see the pic at my blog. Thanks for the pointers.

Secondly, poached eggs actually not that bad. I usually use the vinegar trick rather than whisk the water. If you put vinegar in the poaching liquid, usually, bentuk dia terus jadi, and the vinegar buatkan the egg tastes good.

I pun bila googled aje poached egg ni, macam2 cara diaorang suruh buat supaya jadi cantik, tu yg I terus terasa malas aje nak buat :-)

Salam. Kenapa pizza you tak jadi?Tebal sangat or tak masak or dough tak naik? I selalu guna dough ikut resipi ni, Alhamdulillah setakat ni ok lah. Ini link dia http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/14433/pizza+dough.
Tapi I guna breadmaker nak uli the dough sebab I malas guna tangan dah.
I slalu bakar pizza on really high heat in the oven at 22-230C so cepat masak and crispy kalau you roll thinly. And oven kena ada api atas bawah so suhu dia sama rata.

wakakakaka... jauh lagi weh nak jadi blogger tersohor ni :-).
I pun slalu kena dgn my Mak dulu, "mata letak kat lutut, tu yg langgar segala benda". Ingat nak cakap kat Zahra mcm tu jugak semlm tp sian pulak tengok dia nangis, hehehe...

I thought you still have to stir the water even though you've put vinegar in it? Tak payah ye? Macma tu senang lah jugak kan sbb leceh betul kan nak make sure the egg stays in shape.

boleh aje. I guna recipe this link http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/4832/hollandaise+sauce but I guna sebijik telur aje which was enough for us. It was easy to make and the egg pun was cooked so tak lah takut makan egg mentah.

meleleh ye? hehehe. Miss 6 tu jalan aje tapi still boleh langgar dinding, kalau dia berlari semalam, mau agaknya lagi besar benjol tu :-D
