Pagi tadi meronda Fremantle or Freo in local speak sebab the other half nak hantar barang to his office. Bila dah sampai Freo, mestilah pergi ke Fremantle Markets to buy all those lovely summer fruits. But we only ended up buying some nectarines, apricots, cherries and mangoes only. I love summer kat Australia ni because of all those gorgeous summer fruits. Masa summer ni lah nak makan mangga manis puas2 sebab bila dah habis summer, habislah musim mangga which is so sad, hehehe. Kalau kat M'sia mangga yang manis tu di panggil apa ye? Mangga or pauh? Kat tempat mat saleh ni everything is mango, it's either sweet mangoes which have a few varieties, or green mangoes/chutney mangoes yang buat rojak or salad or pickled tu. Green mangoes memang tak sape berani makan lah kat rumah ni sbb tak biasa :-). Sweet mangoes and cherries memang our favourite tu yg bila summer aje boleh katakan every week kena beli.


Then masa tengah panas terik tu pergi singgah playground for a bit of running around and picnic lunch. Nasib baik lah the playground and the picnic table under loads of trees so tak lah panas sangat tadi dengan angin sepoi2 bahasa bertiup sama. The temperature hari ni got up to 39.1! Panas right! But under the shade it was a bit cooler so tak lah the Little Misses macam udang kena bakar tadi.


Petang tadi pulak mengusahakan project 'pretzels' for our dinner. When I told the other half I was making pretzels for dinner, dia cakap ok aje. Bila I told the Little Misses we are having pretzels for dinner, they said, 'yeay!!!!'. But I pulak kesian kat myself sebab makan pretzels aje for dinner so I made mee goreng as well for dinner just to satisfy the Asian in this house, hahaha ;-). Nak cari resipi pretzel yang senang banget tak susah, tinggal surf net and flick through my recipe books yang berlambak2 tu aje. But nak cari yang authentic nya recipe tu yg susah sebab every recipe berbeza2 sampai tak tau nak pilih mana satu. So, biasalah kan, I just gabungkan dua recipe and altered them ikut my citarasa, nasib baik jadi gak! Hehehehehe....... Then nak buat pretzels ni sepatutnya sebelum bakar dalam oven kena celupkan dlm air bersoda dulu but again sebab malas and I pernah nampak the Pretzoos workers doing it, I just guna spray bottle aje and spray the soda water kat atas pretzels tu. Menjadi jugak chewy nya :-).

Sape nak recipe asal boleh cuba yang ini but I tak ikut sangat her recipe. I ganti kan air suam tu dengan susu suam and kurang kan gula to 1/4 cwn aje sebab tak nak manis sangat sebab nak letak cheese and meat. Then cara buat dia pun I buat lain sikit. Lepas dough tu naik kali pertama, punch it down bagi keluar angin pastu shape kan dia cam rupa pretzels and letak atas tray yang bergris/ baking paper. Pastu spray dgn air soda yg lukewarm, then cover dgn cling wrap and biar dia naik sekali ganda lagi sebelum letak topping atas nya. Before letak topping tu, I sapu dulu dgn melted butter so topping tu lagi senang nak melekat on the pretzels. Pastu baru lah I bakar until golden brown.

Psst Ana, cantik tak pretzels akak? Tergoda tak? Wahkahkahkahkah.....

Kat sini ada jual pretzels halal ni but 1 keping aje costs around $4 and mana cukup kan nak beli 1 aje. For me mahal lah the price sebab I can make it myself and 1 adunan tadi I dapat 10 keping and memang kenyang makan. Probably my pretzels tak lah sesedap their pretzels but no one's complaining tadi masa dinner so I guess everyone liked it :-).

kak LG memang superb bab western food nie....i like it!! Nak jadi rajin cam kak LG tapi malas plak yg banyak..agaknyer bila katak_ayu dah ada anak sdri..nak tak nak kena rajin kan!buat dessert je katak_ayu suka skang nie..hehehe..

betui, betui...klu kite boleh buat sendiri,singgit pun rase mahal.tp ikut keadaanla jugak.klu dah kene penyakit M,mahal camne pun kite beli jugak,hehehe

dah kawin dgn mat saleh so kenalah pandai sikit2 masak ikut tekak dia,hehehe.Pastu lagilah duduk sini,lagilah terpaksa masak sendiri. I tak rajin u,kdg2 aje rajin,yg malas tu yg selalu sgt,wahkahkah.

bestnye summer kat sana...then crita plak pasal mangga!! sy panggil mangga...ada org panggil pauh...dua2 sama kot?...anyway, mangga kat sini boleh dpt kat kedai pakistan same goes with mango chutney...supermarket jual jgak...tp makan tak puas sbb sket sgt...kena beli dua kotak baru kenyang (sbb hantu mangga)..:)

K LG, aritu masa balik msia, ada la jiran yg anaknya balik cuti summer.. study kat sydney.. dia bagi cherry.. tu la first time makan cherry.. best tul.. ala2 plum.. but kecil comel gitu.. balik sini plak, ahaa.. jumpa plak cherry tu.. tapi mahal tul.. one pack kecik 2.5 KD x 12.5 (RM 31+).. tengok jerla.. huhuhu...

I pun panggil mangga aje,either masam or manis still panggil mangga,hehehe. Tu lah, we all klu beli pun sorang sebijik yg besar2 tu baru puas :-).

Musim cherries ni mmng pendek sgt, kat sini pun cuma I think 2 bulan aje kot mcm tu. Tu yg mkn beria skrg sementara masih ada :-). Tapi cherries mmng mahal, around A$10/kg. Klu yg besar tu up to A$17/kg.

ye lah kak.. kat sana makanan mahal. baik lah buat sendiri walaupon x sama rasanya macam dorang punye. Tapi bagusnye buat sendiri sebab kite boleh adjust masakan sesuka hati kan? nak tambah bahan2 lain pon ok jer. lagi puas yer!

tabik spring toing3 kat kak LG sebab terlalu hebat dan penyabar dalam hal memasak nie. tu pasal semua jenis makanan dia boleh buat!!!
