Saturday datang lagi but The Other Half busy pulaknya today with papers to mark. After much negotiation over who’s going to cook tonite’s dinner, we’ve agreed that he’ll cook the main meal and I’ll do the rice and veges. And he said it should be counted as half so he still owes me 2 1/2 days of cooking lah, hehehe…..

But he wanted to masak beef ribs so I jugak lah yang kena keluar pagi2 tadi when it was raining heavily to the butcher to buy the ribs. Kalau tak beli karang, takut dia tak tau pulak nak masak apa so dari I yang kena masak, baik lah I gi beli kan :-). So what he did was, salut the ribs with marinade sauce and then chuck all of them into the slow cooker and let the slow cooker did all the hard work! And then when it was dinner time, it was succulently and tenderly cooked. Macamni bukan dia lah yang masak kan! He didn’t have to do anything else, memang senang kan masak macam ni, hmmmm……. Should I count it as half then? ;-).

And tengah hari tadi, bini mithali rajin ni made home-made sardines using our brand new pressure cooker. Ini semua Cik Mat punya pasal lah! Hari tu tengok Cik Mat masak sardines sampai kecur2 air liur tengok kat blog dia. Terus lah tersimpan hasrat di hati nak memiliki pressure cooker ni. And 2 weeks ago, I got what I wanted :-). Sekarang ni tengah mid year stock take sale so kat mana2 pun tengah sale. Hari tu masuk this kitchen shop, ternampak lah all these cute pressure cookers on sale so I sambar lah 1 ( ye lah kan, buat apa nak sambar sampai 2-3!). Dah 2 minggu pressure cooker ni tersadai aje atas the bench, hari ni lah baru ter rajin nak guna buat sardine ni. Memang lah sedap sangat recipe Cik Mat ni, macam sardines dalam tin aje rasanya you! Tapi Cik Mat pakai ikan tuna, I pakai ikan sardines murah aje, hehehe…Tak payah lah susah payah beli canned sardines lepas ni, tinggal beli frozen sardines aje and buat sendiri. Nanti bila I dah bega2 jadi lauk sardine for dinner, I’ll tayang on my blog ok. Next time I might cuba guna ikan mackerel or ikan kembung biasa, sure sedap jugak kan :-).

Tonite, I just tayang our beef ribs dinner.

marinated slow-cooked beef ribs, vegetables stir fry in oyster sauce and the ‘kuah’ for the beef. Kuah ni I just tuang all the gravy obtained from the slow cooker into a pot, then tambah tepung jagung sikit nak pekat kan dia and masak sekejap.

sy tgk akak nye dinner mlm ni memang tergoda jugak laa.. besor btol ribs tu.. abis ke mkn tu? kalau x anto le kat sy yg pantang nengok food ni.. hehe.. :)

Min, kena claim ngan the other half tu...! dia nak kumpul byk2 pun tak pe, nti leh goyang kaki n tangan seminggu...x payah masak!

I tak boleh bayang kan lah my hubby 1 minggu masuk dapur. 1 hari seminggu masuk dapur ni pun dah bnyk songeh, lagi seminggu, hahaha...

Kat sini walaupun bnyk kambing tp lamb lagi mahal dr lembu, tu yg we all lagi slalu mkn beef dr makan lamb.

hahaha... mmng besar gedabak betul ribs tu, sure lembu dia pun besar gilers kan! Klu buat sup tulang tu, mau lagi ramai yg ngences agaknya, hehehe...

Ribs ni we all salut dgn marinade (apa2 marinade you nak guna pun boleh :-)). Then masukkan aje terus dlm slow cooker tu, tak payah letak air langsung sbb air akan keluar dr ribs tu nanti. Then masak on high for 1 hour, pastu reduce it to low for 5 hours or until masak. But bila tengah masak tu, sekali sekala just turn the ribs around supaya yg kat atas tu tak kering sgt.

sedapnya lah makan roti jala n kuah durian! Dah lama betul tak makan kuah durian ni :-).
