They’ve certainly grown

What a nice feeling this morning to be waking up for Subuh and then remembering that it’s Saturday today and we could have a sleep in after that until 8 if we want to!

No second alarm to wake us up, we can sleep in until the girls knock on our door to wake us up if we want to….

hehehehe…..

Takde nya lah sleep in pun, pukul 7.30 pagi dah terjaga balik. Smile

Macam mana tak terjaga, pukul 5.30 pagi dah terang benderang so by 7.30 tu dah terasa macam tengah hari aje lah.

After the sleep in and a mug of coffee, we straight away went to tackle the garden.

Our spinach beets and the kale plants have all been attacked by this white moth type insects.

We have no idea what they are but they definitely have destroyed most of the leaves….

So, from this…

to this…

We uprooted the kale and the spinach beets and replaced them with joi choi (adik beradik bok choi).

And I spent so long trimming the overgrown tomato plants and picking all the ripe tomatoes while The Other Half did all the watering by hand (rajin giler dia mengangkut the watering cans from the rain tank to all the plants berulang2 kali).

Remember my entry last week about the apple tree which is no more?

IMG_2114

There used to be an apple tree in between the citrus plants but now there’s only a bird bath and a pot of sage.

Oh well, takde apples pun takpe….

Still ada capsicum

IMG_2116

Ada chilli

IMG_2120

ada english spinach and bok choys and lettuce and pegaga…

IMG_2121

ada terung yang maybe akan berbuah in a few months’ time

IMG_2118

Ada okra/bendi yang mungkin jugak akan berbuah in a few months’ time

IMG_2119

And ada grapes and watermelons yang hopefully akan berbuah early next year Smile.

IMG_2148

and ada Miss 9 yang memang sudah sangat2 teruja untuk tolong jadi pemetik buah2an dan pemetik sayur2an, hahahaha….

IMG_2132

Miss 13 sikit pun tak teruja nak petik sayur nor petik the fruits!

Buah blueberries tu pun dia tak teruja langsung nak rasa! Pelik kan, hehehe….

Miss 9 pulak sempat lagi pagi2 sebelum pergi sekolah pergi cari blueberries yang dah ripe untuk dia bawak letak dalam lunch box dia.

But I rasa miss 13 will enjoy picking the grapes once they are ripe and ready….

Masya'Allah.. pegaga pun ada tanam.
Sham cuma tanam kat bakalah je. Bila teragak nak makan, pi bawah then beli la secekak dua.. if any.
Otherwise, timun & jarjer sajalah jadi ulam.

Mixed family in the house,
it's under no-dig-garden beds. Here's the link http://salam2benua.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/update-for-gardening-lovers-aje.html. Rumput lalang boleh tumbuh klu dibawa angin and kalau guna soil yg tercampur weed seeds dlm tu. But tak banyak lah and senang nak cabut.

MM,
tu lah, I wonder if they'll be as big as last year, hehehe. Kat rumah ni kalau I cakap takde benda nak masak, emamng kena gelak lah dgn my hubby sbb freezer jam-packed dgn food and kebun penuh sayur, hahaha.

kak Kasih,
at least ada sorang yg minat sama bergardening ni kira dah cukup baik kan, hehehe. Yang kakak ni memang sikit pun tak minat nak jenguk kebun langsung.
Pokok apple tu memang mencabar jiwa raga sungguh nak membela, tu yg hubby I tebang aje :-).

Zack,
baru aje boleh relax2 sikit ye skrg ni? :-)

blu4sky,
snails ni memang keji betul kan, segala benda dia nak makan! Capsicum I dah besar, I kena petik sebelum caterpillars start makan.

Sham,
Bakalah tu macam kedai runcit ke? Pegaga ni I suka makan but sbb jarang mkn nasi, so jarang jugak lah makan buat ulam.

Chekgu azrine,
raaajiiiiin saaaangaaaat.... hahaha

Nani,
nanti kalau I dah tuai, I tayang kat you ye so mana tau, tetiba you teruja nak menanam, hahaha

Azlina,
best bila dah sampai waktu nak menuai. Part tak best nak membelai hari2 tu, hehehe
