Summer mangoes

Pagi tadi busy sikit so terlupa pulak nak bersunbathing, hikhikhik…

Esok pagi pun busy jugak pastu ada orang nak datang service garage door, so tak dapat lah nak bersunbathing jugak kan….

Bikini pun belum sempat beli lagi so tak best lah nak bersunbathing kan…

Cuaca sekarang pun dah semakin panas so memang perfect lah kalau nak bersunbathing.

wahkahkahkahkah…..

The temperature hari ni was around 25C and sunny and esok pun around 28C and sunny.

Wednesday will be 36C and thunderstorm predicted.

Mau rentung kalau I sunbathing on Wednesday tu! Bukan caffe latte dah, terus jadi double espresso, hahaha….

Summer is definitely here!

And with Summer comes abundance of mangoes.

The Other half suruh I beli mangoes tadi and I came home with a box of them.

IMG_2187

He came home and said, “I only asked you to buy a mango…..

Hahaha…baru puas makan macam ni, 1 mango mana puas.

I got 7 giant sized ones and 4 smaller ones. I think all of them except 2 are the R2E2 variety.

2 giant mangoes dah habis we all makan.

Man! They were so juicy and sweet and droolingly sedap.

Tapi….nak kena tunggu I potong2 kan baru diaorang ni reti makan Eye rolling smile.

Lepas ni boleh buat mango lassi and smoothie, nak try buat mango ice cream….

But most probably, knowing me, we’ll just end up eating them raw or in lassi aje sebab malas, hahahah….

For dinner tadi, I made chicken normandy and foccacia bread.

But since tak cukup masa, I made the bread using half self raising flour and half plain flour.

But still guna yeast for the ‘bready’ taste.

From starting  to siap bakar, it took less than an hour.

Recipe dia sama aje macam recipe nak buat pizza dough tu, but replace about half of the flour with self raising flour.

Rasa dia still sedap but you sort of can taste that it has a bit of a ‘scone-like’ taste.

IMG_2182

The Other Half said, “the bread is really nice.

I said to him, “I made the quick bread using self raising flour so it’s not a true bread.

IMG_2180

Then he said, “Now you mentioned it, I can sort of taste that it’s a bit scone-like but still very good.”

Miss 13 aje ate half of the loaf!

So, kalau you all tak cukup masa, this recipe can be used to make foccacia, pizza base and white dinner rolls.

No one will know the difference if you don’t tell them, hehehe….

Assalamualaikum,

ni saya belajar dari sorang putih yang pernah ke indonesia - acheh/sumatra - macam tu lah ... dah lama dah ...

dia suka cara makan mangga orang sana ... mangga jangan dikupas ... dia penyek-penyek sampai jadi jus isi tu ... lepas tu remove kulit sikit kat pangkal/hujung buah, then suck the jus out ... yummy yummy ... no pisau no mess ... i tried this ... mmm memang lazat jus mangga pure ... balik macam budak-budak lah kan ... jgn lupa basuh bersih buah dulu ye ...

tetapi ... cuma boleh dengan mangga jenis panjang ... yang bulat montel ni mungkin payah sikit ... :)

LG,

We love mango! Kalau in season memang berkotak-kotak kitaorang beli.

A tidbit from the States: here the scone-like bread is called biscuit :-) Makan just like dinner rolls.

faradia,
Salam. mau lah Abang posmen tumpang makan sekaki, hehehe

Zul,
Salam. wah, itu memang murah betul! mangga kat tassie diimport dr Queensland ke WA?

babylola2u,
mangga yg jenis ni memang sedaaaap :-)

Fifi,
Mak Oi! mahal giler mangga australia kat cold storage tu ye! But memang sedap pun mangga style yg ini, sgt2 manis and juicy. Pastu, makan sebiji dah kenyang satu hari, hehee....

Real Life in Msia,
Waalaikumsalam. Wow, that would be good kalau tgh kat kebun and takde pinggan mangkuk kan. Kena tunggu the mango betul2 masak lah ye or else susah nak hancurkan. My daughter sure suka kalau dpt makan that style :-)

nani,
Memang panas sgt2 hari ni, dgn humid mcm Msia pulak tu. Rasa nak berendam aje tadi :-)

Net,
kat sini sbb tak mahal, tu yg boleh beli. kalau kat Cold Storage, banyak benda2 yg I pun cuma pandang aje, hahaha

Dana,
barang2 imported kan, tu yg mahal. kat sini murah lah tp rambutan mahal gilers, hehehe.

Rai,
foccacia ni lebih kurang recipe pizza aje but it's thicker. Memang sgt2 simple and boleh letak anything on top :-)

Zack,
dulu kat NZ, sure bnyk mangoes jugak kan masa Summer ;-)

Kniedaz,
tu lah kan, padahal hari2 diaorang nampak tp kena potong baru lah semua nak makan :-)

Chekgu Azrine,
I thought kalau masuk blog I, dari kenyang terus lapar balik, hikhikhik

T,
the american biscuits, the recipe is just like scones right? Cuma savoury instead of sweet?

lemongrass said...

kak Kasih,
memang sedap kan mango lassi ni, especially bila kat luar tu tgh panas berdeting :-)

Hani,
I guna oven biasa aje. my bread maker dah lama sakit, hehehe

Mona,
Salam. ada kawan I sgt lah terer nya buat rojak petis letak mangga muda. memang tak boleh berhenti makan! Mangga yg masak manis ni sedap ratah mcm tu aje :-)

Nina,
you know what, I tak pernah makan that dessert pulut mangga. Bila orang makan, nampak mcm sedap sgt tp tak pernah I nak cuba pulaknya, hehehe.
Kalau you guna SRF buat bread, you still hv to let it rise a bit or else too dense nanti.

Salam dari Malaysia Kak LG,
Lama dah jadi silent reader baru nak komen. Rasanya ada lagi tak musimnya buah mangga ni bulan depan. Cantiknya kaler buah tu. Nak pergi Perth bulan depan.
