Laksa and berries

The Other Half has a lunch do tomorrow at work and I was nicely asked if I could make potato salad for the do.

Potato salad????

I ni tak reti sangat buat potato salad sebab kadang2 some of the potato is a bit undercooked which is not nice at all.

But dah orang mintak nicely, I buat jugak lah.

Tadi I dah boiled the potatoes but ada a few yang still slightly undercooked in the middle so sekarang ni I tengah steam the undercooked ones so every single potato pieces will be just right, hehehe.

I’m just making the simplest potato salad with cooked chicken breast pieces, spring onion, chives, sour cream, whole egg mayo, gherkin, dijon mustard and salt.

I told The Other Half he better eats loads of my potato salad so tak lah nampak macam takde sape yang nak makan kan, heeeee.

Sebab lunch do Mat Saleh kan, so takde lah I kena suruh masak mee goreng or nasi lemak, wahkahkahkah…

Lega I! Phew Smile with tongue out.

Tadi around lunch time, The Other Half smsed me asking if we can have mee kari laksa for dinner.

Rupa2nya sebab ada colleague dia yang beli mee laksa for lunch and he said bau dia semerbak harum menusuk kalbu sungguh and tu yang dia terus tergoda nak makan laksa jugak for dinner.

I tak kisah bila2 boleh masak kari laksa ni since tinggal open the instant laksa packet and tuang dalam periuk and tambah air, santan and meat and tofu aje, anytime I can make, hehehe.

tapi sebab takde bok choy nor taugeh, kenalah guna carrots and daun2 yang I jumpa kat kebun aje.

And while picking the leaves for the laksa, sambil2 tu we picked this as well…

Setelah lama menunggu, akhirnya the blueberries are ripe and ready to be picked.

Dapatlah a small handful as a first harvest, cukuplah for us to taste.

They are so sweet!

And we also have a guest amongst our grape vines.

Thank goodness it’s a pigeon not a magpie!

We all tak kisah you nak menumpang as long as you dont eat the grapes, break the vines and poop everywhere….duduk lah situ lama mana pun Open-mouthed smile.

She’s only laid 1 egg that we can see.

Hopefully, the egg wont be eaten by the neighbourhood cats lah.

Our grape vine is currently at the ‘fruit set’ stage.

I think at this stage, the flowers have been fertilised and the fruits or berries as they are called are forming. I think we have to wait another month and a half to 2 months before we can see real berries froming on the vines.

And then another month probably before we can harvest the grapes.

Lama gilers kan! hehehe.

My Dear LG..... Its not a pigeon. Its a Dove. Spotted dove to be exact.

And I enjoy looking at your garden pixs.... wish mine would be like that instead of a tropical jungle.. ha ha.

Blu4sky,
you are right, memang the kids escited sgt2 tengok the nesting bird especially zahra. kalau boleh, dia nak tolong that bird cantikkan the nest and nak baig that bird cover so tka kena hujan, hahaha

MatBond,
thank you so much for the clarification. Nampak sangat I do not know my birds kan, hehehe. I prefer doves to pigeons anyway so I'm now much happier to know it's a Malay spotted dove instead of the common pigeon :-D

Kak Zai,
fresh blueberries kat sini pun sgt lah mahalnya. Tu yg we all beria2 nak menanam blueberries and alhamdulillah dpt jugak hasil :-)
