Mesti ramai umat Islam yang tengah sibuk hari ni kan.
We all tak sibuk sebab kat sini mana ada cuti so it’s just our usual Monday, hehehe.
Esok pulak is the first day of school for Term 4 for the girls so memang tak ponteng lah.
And The Other Half pun ada lectures in the morning esok so memang tak boleh nak ponteng. Bersorak sakan lah his students kalau dia ponteng!
I might cook something different tomorrow nite for dinner.
Walaupun tak sibuk masak memasak, we all tetap sibuk jugak on Saturday and Sunday semalam.
Sibuk dengan garden!
A few weeks ago, The Other Half bercita2 nak buat a lavender hedge along the front fence on the nature strip.
And then bila dia baca the Council’s rules and regulations, house owners dibenarkan untuk tanam pokok2 bunga yang tak berduri on the nature strip, as long as it’s at least 2 metres away from the kerb.
So suka hati lah sangat dia sebab dapat merealisasikan impian dia kan.
Sebagai isteri mithali, I pun setuju aje lah and terpaksalah tolong dia jadi landscape gardener on the weekend.
Dah lah Saturday morning tu pergi our weekly 5kms run, pastu terus pergi shopping, pastu balik rehat sekejap and then terus masuk kebun.
And then Sunday sambung shopping all the necessary stuff kat Bunnings pagi tu, pastu balik terus sambung jadi gardener balik.
Memang giler penat both days and also rabak poket!
Layan lah ye gambar our garden project.
Spring season ni memang kiranya season menghabiskan duit kat Bunnings.
Ada garden memang seronok tapi nak maintain tu memang kena ada fulus, hehehe.
On Saturday, we all cuma sempat dug out all the grass along the fence at the ‘project’ site.
Itupun siksa gak nak buat sebab rumput ni kalau dah hidup, punyalah mencengkam tanah. Memang kena cabut dengan tangan one by one all the well established roots.
Then, The Other Half sprayed the roots to kill them.
On Sunday, we finished the rest…
First, we lay down this plastic weed mat along the dug-up site.
Supaya weeds tak boleh tumbuh under that area. Tak lah banyak kerja I nanti asik nak mencabut weeds aje!
Then we spread some pinebark mulch all along over the weed mat.
Mulch ni penting untuk retain water and also helps hamper down the growth of weed and the grass.
And also aesthetically pleasing to the eyes .
Then, The Other Half garu kepala nak susun all the lavender plants, hahahaha..
Ada 11 lavender plants we planted along the fence.
3 of the lavender dentata/french lavender variety and the other 8 not exactly sure which variety they are. Either english or italian.
And then came the fun part.
The Other Half made the holes and I planted the lavenders (sambil doa banyak2 takde orang curi and they grow well, hahahaha).
The cost of everything excluding our labour was around $150.
Kalau panggil landscape gardener to do this would have cost us thousands!
Memang lah tak secantik landscape gardener buat but we are really happy with what we’ve achieved.
How our garden looks like this morning.
And I guess I takde kerja, konon nak mencantikkan lagi the front walkway tu…
I put a small pot of cactus inside the crystal bowl and filled it up with colourful pebbles ala2 kek lapis dwiwarna!
Hikhikhikhik.
Sure rasa lagi teruja nak duduk kat luar pagi2 hening minum kopi sambil menikmati keindahan garden kan
