Sunday 3 May 2009

Pagi tadi ter rajin sikit for a Sunday morning, bangun pagi2 terus buat roti (well my BM yang buat but I still had to measure and put all the ingredients in it!). Hari tu tengok Shidah buat cinnabon rolls nampak sedap sangat2 sampai meleleh air liur I. Even though setiap kali balik M’sia tak pernah beli cinnabon rolls ni so I had no idea what a cinnabon roll is supposed to taste like, hehehe. Cinnamon rolls yang biasa2 tu dah selalu lah buat but with the cream cheese icing on top memang tak pernah buat lagi.

So, anyway, I made the dough in the BM using my normal doughnut dough recipe and separuh buat cinnamon rolls and separuh buat doughnuts for The Little Misses. Beria2 lah I buat cream cheese icing for the cinnamon rolls sebab without that icing, tak ‘authentic’lah kan the rolls. As soon as The Other Half tasted the cinnabon, “he straight away said, “what did you put on the rolls?”. Then I tanyalah kenapa. He said, “it doesn’t taste as nice as the normal cinnamon rolls.” Nampak sangat lah yang The Other Half ni memang bukan American or Malaysian yang dah biasa sgt2 dgn cinnabon type cinnamon rolls kan! Kat sini, the cinnamon rolls are usually covered with just normal icing or no icing what so ever. So, bila I letak cream cheese icing, memang lah terasa sangat beza nya, hehehehe. Kalau we all duduk kat M’sia, for sure lah dia dah familiar dengan cinnabons ni kan :-). But he still ate them but not as much as he would have liked, hehehe. And Miss 5 pun tak makan langsung the cinnamon rolls sebab dia kata, “the icing tastes a bit funny!”. Hisssshhhhhh…… Sape lah yang nak menghabiskan my cinnamon rolls tu macam ni!

They’ve finished off the doughnuts (as usual).

Ini lah rupa my cinnamon rolls with the cream cheese icing. Nasib baik lah I letak sikit aje the icing on top, kalau I letak sampai meleleh2 the icing, mau lah I sorang aje yang makan tadi, hehehe……

Next time I know, my family’s anak tekak tak posh, so kena buat cinnamon rolls yang biasa2 aje, baru lah diaorang makan :-).

Cinnamon scroll ni fav Omar. Tp susah nak dpt dari Baker's Delight. Kat Livingston selalu ada, tp yg lain nye branch tak de.

You tau tak, masa I mula2 beli benda ni kat sini, harga seketul baru je $2.20. Skrg ni dah naik $3.00. Just imagine, every month dia naik. Last sekali I beli harganye $2.60. Last Friday I terkejut beruk jap sbb dah naik $3.00. Mengalahkan harga petrol lak. :(
