Wednesday nite is soccer training nite for miss soon-to-be-9 and so I have to cook something that can be reheated easily. Alkhamdulillah, today the other half could come home early and took her to soccer so I could stay at home and cook dinner at the usual time. The easiest thing to cook for me is pasta but I'm sick of the usual spaghetti, fettucine, macaroni or any of the shapes. Boleh katakan pasta ni is on our menu at least once or twice in a fortnight. Tu yg kekadang rasa dah boring sesgt makan pasta,hehe...The other half likes the Italian dumplings called gnocchi. Gnocchi are dumplings which can be made from potato, semolina, normal flour and a few other things. yang selalu we all makan are the ones that are made from potatoes and flour.Nasib baik lah kat sini bnyk jual instant gnocchi so tak payah lah kena bersusah payah rebus kentang, mash kentang, shape the kentang, hehehe....

So, bila dah malas ni and you need something easy, let's go to Italy! Malam ni I made gnocchi bake with bolognese. Dia lebih kurang pasta bake lah jugak but instead of the pasta, I put gnocchi on top of the bolognese sauce and sprinkle breadcrumbs, grated cheddar and parmesan and baked it until it's slightly golden. I think it tasted much nicer dari the normal pasta bake. Maybe sbb dah lama tak makan gnocchi ni tu yg rasa sedap lagi, hehehe...And as usual, nak bagi bebudak makan sayur tanpa bnyk songeh, I added grated carrot and zucchini in the bolognese sauce and they lapped it up without any complaint, hahahaha....Tricky mummy!
