Lamb, lamb glorious lamb

I think this week, we had a bit too much lamb.

And not enough fish at all!

Not good not good…

I made oven baked lamb ribs the other day.

The ribs were only $6.99 a kilogram so might as well try them.

Kalau tak sedap and tak menjadi, tak lah rasa rugi sangat beli mahal2, hehehe.

Luckily the butcher offered to cut the ribs into tiny pieces.

Or else memang hancur rosak all my knives and cleaver trying to chop it off!

Hikhikhik.

But first kenalah marinate the ribs kan, lagi lama lagi sedap but I could only do it for 4 hours.

I used garlic, wholegrain mustard, brown sugar, honey, steak sauce, tomato sauce, dark soy sauce and worcesteshire sauce.

The typical marinade I use to marinade chicken wings as well.

They say it’s much better to marinade in a glass container so the acidic marinade doesnt react with the glass.

I slalunya marinate dlm ziplock bags aje sebab lepas tu terus buang, jimat air tak payah basuh bekas!

Air kan sgt2 berharga sekarang sampai kena catu kat Selangor tu! Smile

And then makan dengan creamy garlic mashed potato and mixed salad with croutons.

The gravy for the mashed potato tu I buat from the juice obtained from the ribs during baking.

I thickened it a bit using flour aje.

The Other Half and I makan beria2 but the girls found it a bit too hard to gigit the ribs to find the meat in between the fat and the bone and the gristle.

I think they prefer to eat wings instead, hehehe.

And tonight pulak, we had another lamb dish.

We had lamb kebab with garlic sauce and sweet chilli sauce with all the raw veges.

I used lamb mince, using this recipe. But I added diced half a brown onion to the mixture.

We love this recipe cos it tastes so good and yet so easy to make.

If you want the meat to be a bit more ‘crispy’ macam kebab kat kedai tu, after it’s cooked, slice it into long thin pieces and once it’s cooled down, pan fry them with a bit of olive oil until brown and crusting.

I guess you can try it with beef mince but tak sesedap lamb lah.

This kind of lamb, the girls makan beria2.

The Other Half jangan cakap lah!

Lepas tu mengadu tension sebab berat dia mesti naik giler2 during weekends!

oh kak LG, nostalgia nya tgk oven baked lamb tu. masa kami kt UK, bole kata once or twice a week mesti buat, sbb senang n murah (rib dia potong exactly mcm tu). now i dont know where to find dh lg. if ada pon, mesti mkn nya x semewah dulu, sbb sure mahal. nanges...

sedapnye.. boleh la lps ni sy masak lamb. sblm ni beli yg dah siap marinate kat jusco tu jek. balik terus grilled.
