Happy birthday dearest daughter. We wish you happiness and good health for ever. May you grow up to be the person you always dream to be (not sure about becoming a fairy though, you might be a bit disappointed ;-)). And always remember that we will always unconditionally love you no matter what.

Layan gambar Miss 5 from birth to now, from bald headed baby to the mass of curly-haired girl she is now. From a wrinkly 'ugly' baby to a gorgeous adorable girl (we think so anyway, hahaha). From a baby who couldn't sleep unless held to a girl who loves sleeping in her own bed. From a baby who used to suck her 2 fingers to a girl who still sucks her thumb! From a cry baby to a still occasionally 'gembeng' baby :-).

Alhamdulillah, another birthday celebration over and done with. No more birthday parties to think about for this year. That's the good thing about having only 2 kids, tak payah selalu2 sangat sibuk2 nak celebrate birthdays. Yang paling penting, tak lah pening kepala nak fikir camner nak buat all the different and funny shaped birthday cakes, hahahaha. Kalau Mummy n Daddy jenis creative, ok lah jugak kan, ini dapat Mummy n Daddy yang betul2 keras tangan :-).

So, what happened today. We woke up early to prepare all the last minute stuff for the party. The birthday girl and the sister pun bangun awal jugak sebab excited teramat but they were given strict instruction not to make any mess sebab Mummy dah penat kemas and vacuum satu rumah. Since, diaorang takut Mummy cancelled the party kalau they make any mess, they were very well behaved, hehehe. The Little Misses also helped Mummy finished decorating the birthday cake which they were so proud off :-). Child labour is quite cheap in this household ;-).






I assume some of you have already guessed the theme of the birthday party that Miss 5 chose this year. It's Butterfly party! I was so thankful that Miss 5 chose a very simple 'animal/insect' to copy, hahahaha. I managed to persuade her to think 'small' for her birthday theme so senang lah Mummy nak buat :-).

Menu for the party:


Buterfly fairy bread, prawn fritters, chips, mini meat pies, sausage rolls, vanilla slice and the birthday cake. The little guests also got to take home some goodie bags. For the adults yang datang, I gave them nasi impit with rendang and kuah kacang, yang I froze from Raya haritu, wehkehkehkeh. I don't know what I would do without my freezers :-).

The verdict: I think the birthday girl and her little guests really enjoyed the party, and it was really good to see them happily having fun. And as usual, I over provided the food so adalah berlebih2 lagi tu. But luckily semua boleh difreeze so tak lah nak termuntah2 we all kena habiskan all the food in the next few days, hehehe.

The really cute butterfly cake that we made ( in our opinion anyway. nak jual memang tak cukup tinggi the standard but setakat nak buat birthday party the Little Misses i think memang dah cukup bagus lah kan!).

The birthday girl kepenatan, she was so soundly asleep that she didn't even wake up when i went into her room to take this photo :-). Don't they look angelic when they are sleeping!

Raya dah hari ke 4 but I'm still so lazy nak masak 'normal' food. For dinner last nite, we were still eating nasi impit and lauk raya. The other half and the Little Misses dah nak termuntah asik makan nasi impit aje, hahahaha. So, malam ni since masih malas nak masak sgt2, I just cooked them scrambled eggs and toast for dinner! They were soooo happy with the scrambled eggs macam lah sedap sangat2 the eggs tu. I think they were just so thankful not to have to eat nasi impit again for 4 nights in a row! :-). This is what happened when Mummy cooked too much food for Raya, everyone had to eat the same dishes nite after nite after nite. Nasib baik we have big enough freezers to freeze all the rendang and kuah kacang and ayam masak kicap and masak lodeh for future use, hehehehe. So, in a few months, bila tetiba terkenang and teringin nak makan lauk raya, tinggal defrost aje, senang kan :-).

Tomorrow is Miss 2-more-days-to- 5's birthday party. So, since last nite i have been quite busy baking things after the Little Misses have gone to bed. It's much easier baking and decorating the cookies and cake after they've both gone to bed, kalau tak, tak larat nak layan all the questions from them! So far, I'm quite happy with my handywork :-). Ye lah, kalau kita tak puji diri sendiri, sape lagi yang nak puji kan! But still not up to selling standard but kalau setakat nak buat utk makan sendiri, memanglah dah pass sgt2, hehehe. I still have loads of things to do esok especially the final decoration on the birthday cake. Luckily, all the food for tomorrow are already in the freezer, tinggal panaskan n goreng aje esok, so tak lah susah sgt. Alah, bukannya the kids makan banyak sgt pun esok, they'll be more excited to play and eat junk food than eat something mengenyangkan.

Another Raya di perantauan done and gone. Biasanya Raya kat sini cuma sambut sehari aje sebab most of the time it falls on working days so nak tak nak kenalah masuk kerja balik. Kalau kat Malaysia, sampai sebulan masih ada lagi open house :-). Don't get me wrong, ramai juga yang buat open house kat sini but kena tunggu weekend lah baru boleh buat.

We had a good time celebrating Eid yesterday. We didn't do much but it was still meriah. Went to Rivervale Mosque for the 8 o'clock Eid solat and we were back home by 9. Selalunya we stayed a while after solat for the food and socialising but semalam we went to a different mosque which were way too crowded and packed. Malas pulak rasanya nak bersesak2 just to get food so we all balik aje lah, hehehe. After a light breakfast at home, we went out beraya then came back home for a second lunch :-). Had some guests over that afternoon and then went out again to Siti's house where we makan again! They managed to buat lemang the modern way but rasa sebijik macam lemang kat M'sia, hehehehe. Bila balik rumah that night, ingat dah tak larat nak makan but we managed to have a 'light' supper of nasi impit and lauk pauk. Macam mana lah tak naik berat badan straight away after bulan puasa kalau hari2 makan mcm ni, hehehe.

Luckily hari ni, I had to go back to work so was quite happy not to have anything at all until dinner time. Maybe sebab perut dah penuh sgt from yesterday's overeating that I didn't even feel hungry the whole day! Kalau beraya kat M'sia ni, I think masih tak berenti mulut ni mengunyah since semalam, hahahaha.....

We didn't take that many photos yesterday sbb too busy doing so many different things but layan lah ye a few photos that we managed to take of us and the Little Misses. Selama2 berkahwin and berkeluarga ni, tak pernah rasanya we all ada themed colour utk our baju kurung n baju raya. Teringin jugak nak buat but tak pernah berkesempatan pulak nya :-).

Masa ni still kurus lagi sebab belum mula operasi melantak :-).

Menu raya: Nasi impit n ketupat palas segera Nona, masak lodeh, rendang daging, ayam masak kicap, kuah kacang buat sendiri :-), baked chicken wings, pulut kuning and sticky date pudding.

Kek tu sticky date pudding. Malas nak buat kek melayu so buat lah kek Mat Saleh, hehehe.

Terlupa pulak nak ambil gambar all the nicely laid out cookies yang I dah penat2 buat and Miss 9 dah cantik2 hiaskan on the coffee table. Takpelah, this weekend, masa birthday party Miss very nearly 5, I'll take some photos of it.

Seronoknya Eid will be on Wednesday here in Perth, hopefully kali ni every mosque here will celebrate Eid on the same day unlike the previous years. And starting from tonite, tuan rumah ni will be very very busy siapkan preparation for all those lovely raya dishes, hehehe. Yelah kan, dah kena masak sorang2 so tak menang tanganlah kalau nak bertenet at the same time :-). So, rumah ni like I guess a lot of other 'homes' on the blogger world will be quiet for a few days. Tuan rumah nak berehat seketika sempena musim lebaran ni, hahaha.....

So malam ni cuma nak tayang our iftar menu tonite and also some raya cards from fellow bloggers before signing off for a few days. Have a very happy and safe Eid Mubarak everyone and enjoy your holidays, well, to people who do get holidays I guess :-).

Dah makin nak dekat raya ni, dah semakin busy dengan segala macam nitty gritty things to do. Weekend ni we were so busy with house cleaning and tidying, inside and outside and last minute shopping. Esok is a public holiday here in WA so bila public holidays, all the supermarkets n shops pun tutup serapat2 nya lah, tu yang kena buy everything semalam just in case Eid falls on Tuesday. I still haven't heard any news whether Eid is on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm really hoping it'll be on Wednesday because I've already applied for leave for taht day so tak perlulah tergesa2 masuk office after solat Raya. Bolehlah lepak2 kat masjid tu sambil mencuba segala jenis food that will be on offer on that day. Free food you, mana boleh tolak kan, hehehe.

On a different story, our ucapan raya and picture was published in Kosmo Malaysia today. Wei, perasan glamour kejap! hahahaha...... Satu kampung tau :-). I've already asked my Sis to frame it for us, dia punyalah gelak aje at my request. Tak kuasa dia nak frame dia kata, banyak lagi kerja lain dia boleh buat, wahkahkahkahkah. Kiranya sepanjang2 we all hidup di perantauan ni, that's the first time I've sent ucapan and gambar for Raya. Low profile lah katakan ;-).

Tonite, I had really run out of idea what to cook for Iftar. I know tak nak masak nasi n lauk pauk sebab bila Raya nanti, surenya sampai tak larat2 kena makan nasi n rakan2 yang sewaktu dengan nya kan. Last2 masak dhal and makan dengan roti canai segera for the Little Misses and we had frozen thosai n dhal aje. But I also made doughnuts, walnut scrolls, spring rolls for entree so by the end, memang semua kekenyangan lah. Bila datang rajin, memang rajin betul Mummy buat entree, hehehehe.

Terlebih rajin, I guna acuan flower for the doughnuts :-).

The other half asked me this morning to put up his 'dishes' on my blog. He said asik letak my dishes aje tiap2 malam, once in a while letak lah his 'dishes'. Since it's bulan Ramadhan yang mulia, I was feeling generous so here it is his 'dishes'. :-)

Every weekday night, Saturday and Sunday morning, this is what he has to do , until he's so good at stacking the plates and pots now :-).

Malam ni kita layan gambar ajelah ye sebab dah berapa hari tak letak gambar food. Nampak sgt tuan rumah tengah malas tahap gaban nak masak. Kalau tak percaya, u can ask the Little Misses what their iftar meals were for last nite and tonite. Mlm semlm masak maggi goreng aje n Mummy makan Maggi tomyam but siap dgn sayur and ayam n seafood so I guess tak lah malas sgt kan, hehehe. Malam ni makan bought BBQ chicken and frozen chips n salad. Malas tahap gaban! But malas2 pun sempat jugaklah buat choc chip cornflakes cookies and rocky roads. Rocky roads tu buat utk bagi the teachers sempena end of school :-).

Cornflakes choc chip cookies, letak dlm paper cups sbb nak bagi orang, yg buat mkn sendiri semua leper2 aje, hahahaha...

Rocky roads ni lebih kurang kek batik lah tapi versi omputih. Dia letak marshmallows, nuts, dried fruits n shortbread biscuits in it. Nak tambah benda2 lain pun boleh, bagi dia kaler maler lebih2 lagi.

Dinner orang malas :-).

Today was the last day of school and for the next 2 weeks, the other half and I akan bergilir2 jaga the Little Misses at home. Agggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love them lots but 2 weeks with them will drive us up the walls and we will drive them nuts as well and they will drive each other insane as well! Don't know what we'll do with the Little Misses to keep them entertained. Luckily, next weekend will be Miss very-very-very-soon-going-to-be-5 b'day celebration so adalah jugak something for them to look forward to :-). Mummy dia lah tengah pening skrg nak organise everything for the party. Nasib baik b'day party kat rumah ni tak sebesar b'day parties kat M'sia yg siap guna caterings, event organiser, hehehehe.... Mau lah Mummy demam seminggu kalau buat besar2an macam tu!
