Less talk, more photos! ;-)

People say that if you have a macro lens, one of the things that you have to try to take a photo of is the ladybird Smile.

I got my macro lens when it was end of Autumn and nak masuk Winter and it was quite dificult to find any ladybirds kat belakang rumah nor kat depan rumah!

Until lah we got to the farm and Miss 7 (who else lah kan Winking smile) found a ladybird among the leaves on the round. Luckily lah masa tu I was holding the camera with the macro lens already attached to it so cepat2 lah I ambik gambar, hikhikhik….

Lepas tu, Miss 7 and Miss 12 terus clapped and said, “Yeay…you got your first ladybird Mum!”

Hahahahaha…..

But it wasn’t that well focused unfortunately…Takpe, Spring and Summer nanti, boleh try test my skills again kan! Open-mouthed smile.

And I took some other photos of nature around the farm…

The 2 photos kat atas ni are photos of funnel web spiders’ webs (kalau tak silap lah). They were quite big and I boleh bayangkan how big the spider would have been!

Tak berani I pergi dekat2, hahahaha….

I like these 2 photos, 1 showing off the web and the other one showing off what’s behind the web (The Other Half concentrating on eating a feijoa fruit).

These 2 are photos of the ground cover after the frost have melted but still really cold.

The moss (see, moss kat OZ pun sama aje macam moss kat mana2, hahaha).

The scenery around the farm. Every farm has to have a broken down machinery tuck somewhere in a corner and a boat? Winking smile.

See, tak habis lagi photos from our farm holidays tu sebenarnya, hehehe…

And ini pulak the Rocky Road slice I made tadi to take to Masjid esok.

I made using this recipe but I subs half of the glace cherries with salted cashews and I used a mixture of letover Nice biscuits, arrowroot biscuits, teddy shortbreads and milk coffee.

Dah lama sangat2 I tak buat rocky road ni. Everyone loved it Smile.

Activities at the farm

We didn’t do much sebab tak nak lah jam packed it with activities sampai nak pengsan kan. Baik tak payah pergi holidays macam tu, hehehe.

But The Little Misses spent a lot of time playing with the goat Open-mouthed smile.

For us, holidays mean doing something different but having a lot of relaxing time at the same time i.e. just lounging around reading books and spending time with each other Smile.

Before I forgot, this is the name of the farm that we went to..

IMG_1177

Boronia is a group of flowering plants found in Australia so memang true blue Aussie farm lah eh Winking smile.

The first day at the farm, we spent it going for a short walk to the dam and going on a boat.

Not a big boat mind you, cuma a small row boat and a canoe aje. But we had so much fun rowing and canoeing. Dapat lah jugak The Little Misses merasa nak go row row row your boat kan.

First they tried the row boat…

IMG_1033

IMG_1059

They managed to stay upright the whole time, takde sape tergolek masuk dalam dam..hahahaha.

Then they tried the canoe…

IMG_1069

IMG_1071

I pun ber canoeing jugak just me and The Other Half going around the dam but takde sape nak ambik gambar masa tu. Or else, sure nampak romantis sugguh kan we all berdua sitting in a canoe, hehehehe….

Pastu bila dah penat bercanoeing, sambung balik main dgn the animals..

The next day, lepas bagi makan the animals, we went for a longer walk and just stayed at the farm mucking around the house and relaxing.

Puteri puteri ayu menunggu our prince charmings sambil main buaian, hahahaha….

IMG_1105

Mak puteri2 ayu pun nak gak merasa naik buai weh!

IMG_1125

We brought along a bike so the little misses could ride around the farm but they rather walked and ran and skipped instead Open-mouthed smile.

IMG_1140

Masa ni dah nak sunset so The Other Half’s making sure the wood-fire heater is well stocked. It kept us so warm masa berehat2 in the lounge room.

IMG_1162

Kat sini, pokok buah yang pakai kelambu, not the people Smile.

IMG_0957

IMG_0960

Berlambak2 apples bergelimpangan on the ground. Kalau my Mak and Abah nampak ni, sure diaorang kata, “alahai, sayangnya, buah cantik2 and mahal2 dibiarkan jatuh. Kenapa takde sape nak kutip ye.” Open-mouthed smile.

Buah apple gugur atas tanah bergelimpangan ni samalah macam buah rambutan gugur bergelimpangan atas tanah masa tgh musim kat Msia kan, tak larat nak kuitp, hahahahaha….

And to cap off the entry tonite…

A special photo…… (siap dengan model tajaan lagi).

IMG_1171

This is the toilet at the house at the farm. It is an outside dunny!

OMG!!!!!!!

Nasib baik lah our house tu secluded giler, surrounded by forest at the back so memang takde sape can see us. But let’s just say, only The Other Half aje yang berani pergi toilet tengah2 malam buta.

Memang lah forest kat sini takde tiger nor elephant nor serigala jadian but forest kat sini ada possums, kangaroos, emus and all the other nocturnal marsupials!

Lagi lah I tak berani nak jumpa diaorang while sitting on the toilet tengah2 malam buta. Adalah nanti yang menjerit mengalahkan pontianak, hikhihkik…

Thus, the rest of us just crossed our legs and waited for morning to come really really quickly, muahahahahaha…..

Let’s meet the farm animals

I know most of you are already familiar with farm animals kan but we weren’t Winking smile. So, it was a fun and exciting time for us and the girls especially to get up close and personal with some of the animals at the farm.

The farm we stayed at is an organic farm, it has fruit orchards (apples, plums, apricots and citrus), organic vege patch and also sheep and cattle.

Masa we all sampai tu, the farmer took us straight to collect some eggs and then got given a bowl of freshly picked fruits.

But they also keep a few other farm animals like chickens for their egg purposes, a couple of ducks for eggs (even though diaorang kata setakat ni belum lagi bertelur, hehehe), alpacas for their cuteness, a goat (for breeding and milk soon) and guinea fowls for insect control Smile .

IMG_0919

The alpacas and the calves, the sheep and lambs were in another paddock and we didn’t get a chance to meet them Sad smile.

Ini sessi berkenalan dengan the animals.

Trying to get close to the alpacas on the first day..

IMG_0922

Can you see the group of guinea fowls tu. Mencecet2 diaorang lari and squawking thinking that we were going to chase them, hahaha.

IMG_0949

Milko the goat which was the girls’ favourite animal on the farm.

IMG_0974

Who’s cuter? the goat or Miss 7? Winking smileIf you ask me I would say, dua2 ada tarikannya tersendiri, muahahha…

IMG_1008

The Other Half said that I have to put this photo on my blog to show people how penggeli I am. I am not thaaaaaat peggeli but when an alpaca is sniffing your hand and trying to lick it, ugghhhhhhhh…… euwwwwww………

IMG_0999

The 2 ducks that can’t be separated. They go everywhere and do everything together! Sampai sekarang tak bertelur2 so now the farmers are questioning whether they did get a female and a male duck, hmm…..
