The two desserts

Semalam and hari ni I was a bit busy.

Kalau orang lain yang dah biasa buat, they’ll say kacang putih aje, tutup mata pun boleh buat.

I yg baru first time buat, kena ambik masa 2 hari untuk siapkan semua!

A friend of ours celebrated her 50th birthday tonite and she asked me if I could do the desserts for her.

And she wanted the desserts to be individual serving size so it’s easy for people to eat.

Orang lain yang dah biasa buat akan kata no worries, easy mah!

She asked for mini cheesecakes sebab dia pernah makan mini cheesecakes yang I buat before and she loved it.

And I said to her, I’ll  make her sticky date puddings as well so adalah 2 desserts for her to serve.

Semalam I started buat the cheesecakes sebab cheesecakes are much nicer if you refridgerate them overnite.

I just made the usual cheesecakes in mini form but with a gingernut biscuit base.

Selesai dimasak.

Theme colour caca merba sebab the birthday girl kata dia tak kisah cupcake liners tu different colours, hahaha.

And I also made the almond praline untuk dimakan dengan sticky date puddings malam tadi jugak.

First time buat, nasib baik jadi!

And then hari ni, baru lah start buat the sticky date puddings and the hiasan on the cheesecakes.

Cooking the dates and making the butterscotch sauce for the pudding.

Our friend tu wanted individual servings of the desserts.

But I tak cukup individual same size ramekins/ pudding cups to cook the pudding in so terpaksalah jugak buat the puddings in big cake tins.

And I ended up doing this to them….

I had to cut the cakes using a round glass yang fortunately enough the same size as the wine goblets that I’m using to put the individual serves in.

While I was doing this, The Other Half helped susun each goblet into plastic containers and sambil makan the reja2 kek at the same time!

Dah habis potong semua, baru lah tuang the butterscotch sauce into each goblet.

And then baru lah hias…

I break the almond praline into shards and then cucuk masuk dlm the pudding.

And the cheesecake pulak, I top it with strawberry coulis and fresh strawberries.

Served with plain whipped cream, to cut down on the sweetness of the sauce.

Kalau makan benda ni tiap2 hari, memang boleh kena potong kaki lah!

Ini pun I rasa dah high on sugar rush!

Hahahahaha…

Hopefully the birthday girl and her guests are happy with the desserts lah.
