The rare appearance of the fish

As you all know, we all jarang sangat makan fish, especially fish yang bertulang.

Yang paling selalu we all makan are the already crumbed fish bought at the shop for fish and chips.

Or fillets which I will pan fry or masak sweet and sour or mix it with the other seafood in pasta or in sushi.

Or the canned tuna or salmon to make into rissoles or stir in pasta bake.

Or smoked salmon to have at breakfast or in sushi.

Setakat kembung goreng tu, I kena tunggu ada makan2 orang lain goreng baru lah dapat merasa and melepaskan dendam!

Hahahaha…

My family is ‘allergic’ to fish bones.

Nampak tulang ikan aje terus dapat reaction macam nak tercekik!

Hikhikhikhik….

Tu yg I maaaaalas sangat nak masak ikan!

But the other day, we bought kingfish steaks sebab The Other Half kata it looks really lovely and the bones are just in the middle so ok lah untuk dimakan dek2 mereka2 yang ‘allergic’ ni kan Sarcastic smile.

But he wanted it to be cooked the Mat Saleh way with white sauce.

This was my plate, I malas nak makan any extra carbs apart from the chickpeas. The rest of them had it with chips.

We had it with chickpea salad.

Surprisingly, everyone loved it and devoured it!

Even Miss 14 finished her whole plate including the salad which she says she likes because she likes the ‘beans’ in it.

Surprised smileSurprised smileSurprised smile

Next time bolehlah I buy other type of fillets/steaks and cook it this way so dapatlah meningkatkan pemakanan ikan kat rumah ni.

And malam ni pun our dinner was fish and chips with salad.

But I bought the fishcakes, tak buat sendiri.

Jangan main2, Jamie Oliver nya fishcakes ni!

Hahahaha…..

And the colourful salad than went so well with the fish and chips.

I letak mixed lettuce leaves, avocado, tomato, corn, navel orange flesh and pine nuts.

I love to add fruit and nuts in my salad, baru lah sedap ada crunch sikit.

Tak lah terasa macam kambing semata kan Winking smile.
