Of caterpillars and bees in Spring

Woke up this morning with a steely determination of “I can build a trellis!”.

But then when I turned to The Other Half to shove him out of bed and into the garden to be my supervisor, he said, “the seedlings can last another week…we can build the trellis next weekend.”

Lerrr…..

I still have to build it next weekend so why not this weekend?

Sebab he wanted to sleep in some more!

Ceh…..

But we finally did manage to get into the garden this morning to look at the growing seedlings, spray the aphids on the growing roses, pull out some weeds, water the plants and also took some photos .

First, let’s have a look at the kale plant.

We like the kale but it’s such a chore cleaning and washing it!

Nak tau kenapa?

Because the caterpillars loveeeeeeeeeee the kale leaves!

And caterpillars kan hijau, and the kale leaves are all curly so I have to go through each curl of the leaves masa membasuhnya just to make sure we do not accidentally eat a caterpillars!

Punyalah siksa! hehehehe….

(But I rasa ada jugak kot caterpillars yang terlepas pandang and dah termasuk dalam perut we all, kahkahkahkah…)

How many caterpillars can you see? hahaha

Then I found some ripening cherry tomatoes amongst the dense tomato leaves.

The first in the season, yeay…

And then some herbs given to us by our previous neighbour (who just sold his house next door).

He planted all these different herbs in 1 pot and since dia tau we all suka bergarden, tu yang dia bagi to us.

Curly leaf parsley, sage, oregano and thyme in this pot, I think….

Flat leaf and curly leaf parsley, oregano and sage in the second one.

And some more lavenders and its resident bees….

I wonder if I can cut the lavender flowers and put them in a vase and them dry them to make potpourri?

 

And the owner of the lavender plant watching the bees and thinking of whether to charge them rent or not, hikhikhikhik…..

The wound on his face fromt he accident is healing well….
