One of her favourite food

Malam ni, muka budak tu tak pasrah lagi….

Berseri2 muka dia makan dinner sebab it’s her favourite, hahahaha….

Siap tambah lagi tu, so memang feveret lah kan.

Kenapa I cakap muka dia muka pasrah bila dinner time?

Sebab dia ni jenis yang only suka certain food aje.

Kalau food yang dia tak suka and I dah masak and hidang, dia tetap akan makan….

She won’t say anything…..cuma dari air muka dia I tau yang dia ‘pasrah menerima makanan dan makan sebab Mak dia dah masak and tak mau kena marah and makan sebab lapar’.

Hahahahaha….

Tapi kalau makanan yang dia suka, dia akan mintak banyak or akan tambah sendiri kalau tak cukup…

And tadi for dinner, by the time I baru habis tertonggek2 ambik gambar my dinner plate, dia dah on her second serving…

Maknanya dia suka lah tu Smile.

I nak tunjuk a few steps of how I made her favourite food ni ye.

What’s her favourite food?

It’s enchiladas (at the moment anyway. It might change again next month, hehehe).

First step kenalah ada all the ingredients for it kan.

The wrap, the beef mince filling, the home made enchilada sauce and the grated cheese and an oven-proof tray to put all the enchiladas.

(But for the beef mince filling recipe link tu, I tak buat banyak tu lah and I substitute the red kidney beans dengan canned baked beans and I tak letak capsicum, I letak grated zucchini).

Then you put the filling in the wrap, put a little bit of grated cheese on the filling and fold the wrap into parcel shape.

Buatlah sampai i. habis all the wraps ii. habis all the filling Smile.

Sebelum you letak all the enchilada parcels into the tray, pour a bit of the enchilada sauce into the base of the tray macam ni.

And then isi lah the tray padat2….

The next step is to pour some of the enchilada sauce on top of the wrapped parcels.

And then, pour all of the grated cheese on top of the sauce.

The last step is to bake it in the oven at 200C until the cheese has melted and the enchiladas are a bit brownish.

Untuk kurang kan rasa guilty sebab makan cheesy things, hidangkan lah dengan salad.

I made a mixed salad again. Kali ni guna grapes, capsicum and cucumber from our garden.

kalau kita buat sendiri, we can put as much filling as we want kan….

Tapi kalau letak banyak sangat, susah nak roll it into parcels…

Sebab tu Miss 13 suka sangat2, hehehe…

Ada one week tu, she asked for it for lunch at school every day for 5 days!

And obviously dia still tak jemu lagi kan Smile.

When I don’t know what else to cook

Malam ni I masak noodles…

Itupun pukul 5 baru kelam kabut cari and keluarkan bahan2 nak masak.

When The Other Half got home and saw the rice noodles soaking in warm water, he asked, “Are you making char kuey teow tonite?

I said, “no…it’s probably more kuey teow less char…

I used the dried rice noodles yang the Thais selalu guna untuk buat pad thai since I tak kuasa nak pergi kedai beli the fresh kuey teow.

And nak buat rice noodles tu sendiri, lagi lah I tak kuasa! hehehehe

I suka guna dried noodles ni sebab dia tak senang hancur masa digoreng tu.

Kalau guna yang fresh, by the end of the goreng session, dah banyak yg hancur and susah betul nak makan guna chopsticks.

I only used garlic, oyster sauce, sweet chilli sauce, kecap manis and kicap masin for the perencah.

So, tu yang bukan char kuey teow nor pad thai yang I masak ni.

I guess just kuey teow goreng biasa aje lah kan Smile.

And then guna thinly sliced beef topside and eggs for the proteins.

And spring onions, carrots, beansprouts and tomatoes for the veges.

And bila nak makan, just tabur bawang goreng, cili jeruk and cashew nuts on top.

Seperti biasa, Miss 9 loved it because she loves anything noodle-y.

The Other Half liked it. He prefers kuey teow than mee kuning but he doesn’t like meehoon.

Miss 13 seperti biasa, makan dengan muka pasrah, she neither hated it nor liked it…. hahahahahaha…..

Rahsia badan selim melim ;-)

Thanks lah kat readers blog yang kata I dah selim melim….

terus rasa kembang kuncup I, hahahahahaha….

I ni sebenarnya have an unbalanced body shape, atas kecik bawah besar.

Kalau I gain weight, dia akan terus tuju ke peha and bottom and then waist area.

So, in order for me to keep the unbalanced shape not that obvious, tu yang I kena make sure my weight tak naik sangat….

Susah weh kalau nak beli suit sepasang sebab I kena cari different sizes for top and bottom!

Luckily lah I tak pakai suit kan so lega on that part, hahahahaha…..

And since I ni jenis yang hari2 akan masak and orang kat rumah ni semua jenis yang suka makan including me, terpaksalah I buat something else to make sure my weight tak naik.

Kalau 2 years ago masa The Other Half and I beria berdiet and ber exercise bagai nak rak, I memang betul2 jaga what I cooked and what we ate.

No goreng2, no fattening cheesy food, no santan2 cukup lemak, no fattening dessert….

Our weight turun dengan lajunya! Smile.

Sekarang ni, we all still jaga our food intake…

We eat everything but in smaller portion lah.

I still have the occasional cakes/sweets/chocs, I still cook food with santan and loads of cheese, I still have all the food yang bergoreng but tak  banyak lah…

I still eat nasi, kadang2 twice a day but tak lah bertambah2, hehehe….

And I make sure I makan banyak sayur/salad.

I memang dari dulu jarang sgt minum air bergula so skrg pun I tak minum air bergula.

My coffee in the morning uses stevia and kalau I minum cordial with ice, I guna no-added-sugar cordial.

But the most important thing is I exercise regularly sejak early January.

Minimum 4 nights a week I will do 45 minutes on the elliptical each session.

I slalunya akan start around 8 oclock at nite and I will watch an episode of something to pass the time.

Sekarang ni I tengah go through House Season 1 balik.

My pace on the elliptical tu biasa2 aje, bukan laju giler and bukan jalan2 makan angin…

in that 45 minutes, I slalu buat 16 kms on its odometer and around 660cals burn.

Berpeluh2 jugak lah!

Tak lah banyak mana cals burnt but I dont mind.

Like The Other Half said to me, “at least you are doing something to keep fit.

In 1 week I will have 1 free night and the other 2 nights I will do sit ups and push ups.

Tu sebab bila I makan pizza for dinner tadi, I tak risau sangat, hehehe…..

SS photos with ig….

Sejak dua menjak ni, camera iPhone I selalu sangat digunakan.

Boleh katakan hari2, ada aje benda yg nak dicapture…

Nak kata, dah makin pandai and mahir ambik gambar guna iPhone, tak jugak, hahahaha….

Probably dah makin pandai editing kot so everything looks ‘cantik’…

Even kulit I yang tanned ni pun boleh jadi lebih cerah dari kulit The Other Half dek editing!

Sangat lah over nya kan!

Even Miss 9 pun dah mula tanya, “why do you want to take photos all the time?

And dia lah yang selalu kena jadi my model since Miss 13 sejak dah anak dara ni a bit allergic to the camera being pointed at her.

Pagi2 dalam kereta sementara nak tunggu time nak cross the road to her school pun sempat lagi nak bercamhoring ni.

I guess inilah penangan ber IG kan, asik2 nak ambik gambar, hikhikhik……

Layan lah ye some of the syok sendiri photos ni, hehehe…..

Saje je nak tunjuk persamaan yang sangat ketara antara Miss 9 and I, our chubby cheeks and also our non botoxed chins, hehehe.

(Masa ambik gambar2 ni, Miss 13 dah jalan ke her school dulu since high school starts earlier than primary school. Tu yang Miss 9 stay sekejap with me in the car until it’s time for me to take her across to her school).

Sampaikan pagi tadi, I suruh Miss 9 tolong ambik gambar I full body kat luar kereta just before crossing the road.

Sure lah Mak@ and Pak2 yang antar anak2 diaorang pagi tadi geleng kepala tengok perangai I, kahkahkahkahkah….

Tapi I tak boleh lah nak buat outfit of the day sebab semua yang I pakai takde brand terkenal, setakat brand OZ aje, Handbag pun I tinggal in the car aje, hehehehe….

Tapi, mana boleh cuma tayang photos syok sendiri aje kan, kena lah tayang photos of our dinner jugak.

Two of my favourite food, pasta and chips

Last nite The Other Half asked for cheese muffins for dinner sebab dia kata dah lama I tak buat cheese muffins.

Kalau dah lama I tak buat tu, maknanya I tak berapa gemar nak makan tu sebab I jaaaarang buat, hehehe.

But since dia cakap dah laaaaaama tak makan so I buatkan lah jugak his favourite cheese muffins itu.

And they had the muffins with frankfurts for dinner.

But since I tak berapa gemar that cheese muffins, I made some pasta for me.

But I buat baaaanyak gilers so I could have it for lunch today and The Other Half can have ot for his lunch esok.

Jimat masa kamu, tak payah masak dua tiga kali!

Hahahaha….

The pasta I made.

Just olive oil, garlic, fresh tomatoes, sundried tomatoes in oil, leftover roast chicken from the other day, fresh basil leaves and loads of dried chilli flakes.

I could eat the whole pan of this pasta sebab I looooooove this kind of sempoi pasta.

And I used angel hair pasta sebab I sorang aje yang suka sangat kat angel hair pasta ni…

Yang lain tu prefers other types of pasta…

Nasib baik lah kan dried pasta of so many different shapes ni senang nak jumpa kat kedai.

Happy tekak and tummy I sebab tak dipaksa makan cheesy muffins, hehehehe….

And then tonite I made crumbed lamb chops with oven-baked chips and salad.

This is how I make my salad.

Basically, with any salad, you can put anything you want in the combo.

You dont even have to add salad/lettuce leaves if you dont like them and it’s still considered a salad Smile.

One of the salads yang I selalu buat is beans salad which has canned mixed beans, diced capsicum and diced kacang panjang in canola oil+cuka+cumin powder+sugar dressing.

Tonite’s salad is a simple salad of mixed lettuce leaves, sliced raw carrots, sliced fuji apple, diced fresh tomato, roast almond, basil leaves and feta cheese.

Then I buat dressing which is extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey and mustard.

And bila nak makan, baru I tuang the dressing on the salad so it doesnt go soggy.

If you want to use bought dressing pun ok aje, takde hal.

If you all perasan, my salad and my cooking tak pernah letak olives in any shape or form sebab I tak lalu makan olives ni.

The pickled olives smell reminds me of something which makes me want to gag everytime I terhidu, hehehe.

The Other Half eats olives but he said there’s no point buying them sebab dia sorang aje yang makan and bukan makan hari2 pun.

The girls I rasa memang tak lalu nak makan olives sebab I tak pernah introduced them to olives kan.

So, our dinner tonite.

Garden update number 100 ;-)

Saturday is as usual, a family day and also a gardening day for us.

Since dah lama I tak tayang gambar garden, I’ll tayang banyak2 lah malam ni ye.

Mula2, kena tunjuk gambar the roses.

We’ve added some white pebbles around the lime pots so nampak cantik sikit lah skrg.

Tapi, the lemons and the tahitian limes still masih belum masak2 lagi….

And then gambar in the back garden pulak.

Our pokok kari sekarang tengah galak mengeluarkan buah.

Buah kari ni boleh makan but the seed inside is poisonous so just makan the flesh and spit out the seed.

So, The Other Half has been trying buah kari ni and he said they are really sweet.

And he’s been asking me to try them.

But I tak lalu nak makan sebab bila nak masuk mulut aje asik terbau kari so my minds cannot compute makan buah bau kari ni…

Terus loya aje tekak I tang2 tu jugak, hahahahaha….

Maybe, kalau I makan kari and buat ulam buah dia, ok lah kot, hikhikhikhik….

But yang I heran nya kan, the lorikeets sikit pun tak datang makan buah kari ni even though warna dia yang merah and then hitam berkilat macam warna anggur tu.

Memang dasar lorikeets Mat Saleh kan!

And ini pulak our cucumbers.

And our visitor today…

We’ve had this bird bath for so long, since we moved into this house.

The Other Half at first rolled his eyes when I bought this bird bath sebab dia kata buat ‘menyemak’ aje in the garden, hehehe…

But now he’s the one yang excited about having it becase the willie wagtails have been using it.

We can’t really see the willie wagtail in the bird bath, but we can see the water splashing everywhere bila dia tengah mandi tu.

So cute!

And then bila dah puas mandi, cari makan pulak in our garden…

They eat insects in the garden so we are always happy to see them Smile.
